Summary: Feline Frenzy
Review: HOT, WET, AND WILD,
sum's up this latest offering by beloved author Christine Feehan. Wild Rain is a passonate, sexy story about the developing romance between two people who feel they are alone in the world. Both harboring secrets that they believe will destroy their new found happiness. So different and yet they find more in common than they ever could have guessed. If you like Ms Feehan's Carpathians your gonna love her Lepoard people series. I honestly thought the idea of the Lepoard people was trite until I read the first story, I was WRONG, they are delightful, captivating, sexy, and her discriptions of the rain forrest and animals show a true understanding of the area and her love of nature. A must read. Thank you Ms Feehan you have done it again.

Summary: I agree with the reviewer that said this book was good but,
Review: I agree with the reviewer that said this book was good not great. I, too, am a huge DARK SERIES fan and understanding Ms. Feehan is attempting something new with her (Wild Rain) tried really hard to love this one but the best I could come up with is to convience myyself this story will get better as I read the book a second time. I liked the characters and for the most part the plot but at times I just couldn't stay focused because of the jumping around. That being said I would still recommend not only this book but all of Ms. Feehan's books. She's a terrific writer.

Summary: Wonderful escape from reality
Review: I always look forward to a new Christine Feehan book. I find this author to be imaginative, adventurous, and all around entertaining. The "Wild Rain" had an interesting story line, something only Christine could pull off, and at the very least, light entertainment for an afternoon. Do not expect all things to make sense, and quite frankly that is what I love about her books. The book introduces a new species, explains their history, and shares details of their surrounds and culture. That is a challenging undertaking by any author, thusly my earlier comments on Christine being "adventurous". Often this undertaking will leave a "practical" reader disappointed, since of course, the book's theory is exactly not that "practical", but rather "fantasy".

All in all I found the book to be a wonderful escape from reality.

Summary: Better than the Dark Series
Review: I am a huge fan of vampire books which is why I started reading CF at all - and why I continued even after the most horribe of the series (Darck Magic). The most recent of her books - Dark Melody, Shadow Game and now Wild Rain are some of her best. Her characters have matured and are much more developed.
Wild Rain gives a romantic look at the rain forest as well as a cool idea of shape shifters that have both animal and human instincts (it could have been more explored but she's usually more interested in her character's relationship and how the *weird* aspect effects their relationship or world). The plot of Rachel's past was somewhat over the top - but hey - it fit. Rio had enough sensitivity and toughness to make him an appealing leading man and Rachel wasn't just a hysterical or voiceless twit. The secondary characters were equally enjoyable and hopefully if the idea continues into a series - Elijah gets his own book.

Summary: Not the greatest
Review: I am a major Feehan fan and looked forward to the new book. I ran out the first day and bought it...only to be disappointed. The story line was somewhat interesting but did not grab my attention. The characters lacked depth and had sparse details on how they came to be. I enjoy her other books and will continue to read her but this was a major let down.

Summary: Below Ms. Feehan's Great Standards
Review: I am a real fan of Ms. Feehan's "Dark" and "Ghostwalker" series. All of those books never have failed to please; however, this book just didn't get it. The characters were annoying. Both characters kept having "flashbacks" to previous lifes that they shared with each other. Other than alluding to this feeling a few times, this aspect of the story was never explored. After they fell in love, you really couldn't see how it happened. Almost the entire first half of the book, the heroine was fevered and ill from a leg wound. The plot was a little silly. Here we have a ruthless character (the brother), who could shift into a leapard and he let his uncle terrorize him and his sibling for all of their teenage years and more. Why in the hell didn't he just eat him??? The hero of the story was an outcast of the village he was born in. Instead of the villagers forgiving him for an understandable rage, they kicked him out. What does he do? Continue to support them and help them. Well, Duh. And there was one scene where the hero shifts into a leapard, strolls into the house, walks to the bed, gets in bed with the heroine (who doesn't know he can shift yet) and she proceeds to pet him. Oh, yeah, that was believable. Generally, I love Ms. Feehan's books. They are fast-paced, deep character development, and great reads. The author has a gift of taking strange things and make them seem normal. This book just doesn't match her usual standards. And by the way, is any other fan of her books sick of the phrases, "with the speed of a freight train" and "through his bloodstream like a fireball"????

Summary: Captivating
Review: I am not usually a big fan of paranormal books but this book was well written and completely captivating from the beginning! The only thing I would change is Rachel's reluctance in sharing her secrets... that slowed the book down a bit... BUT with that being said I didn't want the book to end, I felt like I was transported to the jungle and I too wanted to stay there and have my own Rio. I would have loved an epilogue telling whether or not they had children because at points in the story both Rachel and Rio had flash backs of having a child. A story of Drake would be a nice way to get back to the jungle!!

Summary: Good but prefer "Dark" series
Review: I enjoyed "Wild Rain" - it made for an enjoyable evening of reading. However, personally I prefer her "Dark" series. Ms. Feehan is beginning an entire new series and is still in the "settings" mode. The characters were good, but not entirely as well setup as I would have preferred. We still know almost nothing about the Leopard people, except that they "have always existed." Unlike the Carpathians (who are definitely "good") and the Vampires (who are definitely "bad!", the Leopard people can be friend or enemy. I will give "Wild Rain" 4 stars.

Summary: Good Read
Review: I found "Wild Rain" to be a good read. It was a hard switch, going from Vampires to the Leopards, but an enjoyable one. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys tales of shape-shifters and other mythical creatures.
