Rating: Summary: Wonderful book, however... Review: I have been entraced by the Outlander series for the past three weeks. I found this book to be wonderfully exciting and fun. The best part was Jamie's story. It was great to hear him tell the tale. In fact better than when Claire bores us with all her medical jargon. He really brings the books to life and makes you want to keep reading. We need more books written from Jamie's percpetive. Plus Jamie has more control, not to say Claire's not a strong character, but she has to follow Jamie around a lot.
Rating: Summary: Voyager Review: This book is one of my all time favorite reads. It is extremely well-written with details that draw you into the time periods of the book. It takes an unbelievable topic like time travel and makes it completely possible! The characters stick with you long after the last page has been turned.
Rating: Summary: Getting pretty darn ludicrous Review: Outlander was a really fun book to read. Dragonfly in Amber was weird, but still fun. This book is pretty stupid, though. Claire keeps losing her clothes and getting pretty new ones -- over and over. The book jumps from one bizarre calamity to another, without enough story in between to hold it together.
Rating: Summary: My favorite! Review: This one was my favorite of the series. I loved it when they went to the Caribbean islands. I can't wait to read Drums of Autumn next. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Swash-buckling fun anyone? Review: Diana Gabaldon's book Voyager was alot of fun to read I found. Especially after the first two emotionally draining (in a good way) books. It was a high seas, tropical adventure with reunions both good and bad and the usual shocking plot twists that this author is so good at. I felt as if I had no time to catch my breath from one adventure to the next. It also got a little creepy for a few chapters. I don't think there is any genre that this talented author wouldn't be able to write a whole novel in. This saga continues to be excellent as usual.
Rating: Summary: Something's quite different Review: After reading the first 2 books in the series, I was overjoyed to sit down and delve back into the lives of Jamie and Claire. How disappointed I was as I got further and further into the book. I didnt like the changes that were made to the characters, and at points, I actually was disgusted with them. This book pales greatly in comparision to the others.
Rating: Summary: I can't get enough of this story! Review: Once again I was enthralled by these characters. These books stay in your mind and your heart long after you've finished them.
Rating: Summary: Not up to the level of the rest of the series Review: In all, this book was very, very good, but not quite on a par with the rest of the series. It seemed to me that the characters were acting against their former natures - doing things they wouldn't do. In all, I do recommend it, and not just because you won't be able to follow the next book. Some of the scenes are breathtaking, and the writing is superb.
Rating: Summary: Part of the Greatest Historic Romance Series EVER Review: I read all of the books in this series about 3 times. The historic accuracy, the attention to detail, the supernatural, and the great sex were a potent combination. I loved the characters, which were highly developed. The story made me laugh and cry. Very enjoyable and memorable story.
Rating: Summary: it was ok Review: I had been a D. Gabaldon fan up until this point. Voyager was sooo boring, I couldn't stay awake. I just had a really hard time trying to follow what the heck was going on. It just wasn't as colorful or passionate anymore as the other books in the series previously.
