Summary: A Pleasure to Read
Review: I have never read a Sisman book before, but I'm really glad I picked this one up! The main character Molly Clearwater is a strong and assertive protagonist. When she goes on a business trip with her boss that includes monkey business, she high tails it to Paris! The plot twists were surprising and enjoyable, and about the only thing missing is a sequel! I'd recommend this book to anyone who loves a great story and a fast read.

Summary: Mildly Disappointing
Review: I read a bunch of great reviews about this book before I bought it, so I thought I better post a comment that's more realistic. This book is easy (and at points, fun) to read, but it wavers between funny and dumb. The ending leaves something to be desired, and everything is a little too neatly wrapped up with coincidences. It certainly does not make me want to go to Paris (except for the Rodin Museum). Weekend in Paris strives for the tone of a Sophie Kinsella novel without quite getting it. Read Confessions of a Shopoholic instead.

Summary: fun summer reading
Review: I think that this is a great summer vaction book. Fun and light hearted. A book about Europe and Love, what could be better?

Summary: An adventure in Paris...
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this story about a "good girl" who decided to take a few chances. She is supposed to go away with her boss for the weekend to a conference in PARIS yippee. But, then she finds out that what the boss really wants to do is get in her knickers. So she quits and then decided to run away to Paris by herself.

Fantastic story. You get to see into her mind and think about what parts of her life she is really in control of.

Sisman continues to write with a flair that makes you not only think but you feel as though you are there with the characters.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I thought Weekend in Paris was such a disappointment compared to Robyn Sisman's other books. It had no plot, the characters were mundane, and I just completely lost interest halfway through the book. I couldn't wait for the book to end! Hope Robyn's next book is more exciting and realistic.

Summary: fell short & completely flat at the end....
Review: I truly started to enjoy reading this book. Molly Clearwater developed into a smart, funny, passionate woman. She takes herself on an unexpected and uncharacteristic trip to Paris where she quickly transforms into this 'new woman' - unafraid, bold and adventurous. While the story carried Molly along nicely, the rest of the characters fall flat, which I found extremely disappointing. Robyn Sisman went to great details to make characters such as Alicia, Zabi and even the mysterious Dr. Griffin sound so inspiring, so interesting...but the book ends with these characters (and what happens to them) so underdeveloped that it made me want to throw the book across the room when I was done. The reader has no clue what happens between Dr. Griffin and Molly - other than she intends to see him the next weekend (after the book is over!). For such an important and life changing role in Molly's life, there should have been more development, or at least an epilogue. What about Molly's relationship with her Mother after all that has transpired? What happens to Malcolm, does he get "his" in the end? In the end, Weekend in Paris is an easy, light-hearted book to read; but don't pay full-price for it. Buy it used and then re-sell it for the next reader.

Summary: Fun and exciting, though some sub-plots a little forced...
Review: Molly Clearwater is a secretary for Malcolm Phipps at a pharmaceutical company in London. He invited her to a weekend conference (in Paris no less) and she delightfully took him up on his offer. Even though he had never tried to get anywhere before, she overheard two women in the bathroom talking about why he is taking her there. After that, with no other explanation provided, she assumes the worst, and sends him a resignation email. Even though her reaction was a little impulsive and short-sighted, it turns out that she made the right decision.

As she is deciding just to go home and decide what to do now-- she chucks it all and takes a train to Paris instead, with a little intermediate French knowledge under her belt. Why shouldn't she be able to have some fun? Not telling anyone where she is going, (since they assumed she was going there anyway) she's off, and manages to find a Paris hotel late at night.

Obviously something has to happen since Molly doesn't know anyone, right? Well, Alicia knocks on the door, looking for Janine who has "done a runner with her rollerblades," from the company she works for. They are fast friends, as this black haired Australian pushes her way into the room. All of a sudden, they are out in Paris, enjoying each other's company.

They are out at a club, and Molly meets Fabrice, a French artist of course!! He takes her for a ride on his scooter, and she falls in love! (Her naivete can get a tad bit annoying at times)

Though the ending was not predictable, (thank goodness) she meets a man who turns out to be someone she has been searching for all of her life!!! (not Fabrice)

As other reviewers have said, the way the author describes Paris is right on, and you feel like you are there. (I have only been there twice, but her detailed portrayal of France makes me want to go back!!

I read it quickly, in two days! It may have been better if provided with French vocabulary at the bottom, because not all of the French words can be figured out in context. Example: "With suitable hand gestures she outlined the disappearance of her Rollerblades along with the MECHANTE Janine..." What does that mean?

Take an adventurous romp through Paris!

Summary: 3 ½ stars....
Review: Molly Clearwater is a young woman who'd never managed to find her way out of her hometown until she got a job with a pharmaceutical company in London. Now, after a year of hard work and long hours, she is offered the opportunity of a lifetime to accompany her boss to a weekend conference in Paris! Molly is thrilled that she has been chosen for this opportunity until she learns of her boss's plan to seduce her during their trip. After confronting her boss Molly resigns from her position and finds herself jobless and even worse out of a free trip to Paris.

Impulsively Molly decides to hop on a train and spend the weekend in Paris after all. Once in Paris Molly meets a host of people who will change her outlook on life forever, there is Alicia, a carefree Australian girl with no inhibitions, a gorgeous young French artist, and as she sneaks into her boss's hotel in disguise she meets the most unlikely person of all.

For Molly her 'WEEKEND IN PARIS' was a life changing experience, for me...it was just OK. There were parts of this book where I found myself laughing out loud while there were other parts where I found my mind completely wandering. I give this book 3 ½ stars because it is very funny in some areas and the descriptions of Paris were very vivid, however, in my opinion Sisman's 'JUST FRIENDS' is a much better book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Any time is a good time for Paris
Review: Molly Clearwater is smart, beautiful and sexy. Only she doesn't know it yet. However, once she decides on the impulsive and travels to Paris on her own, her adventures in the City of Light will transform her the way traveling in unknown territory so often does.

Sisman clearly knows the affect traveling has on a person and she pens a tale of a sweet and loveable innocent being educated by a weekend in Paris. Sisman's descriptions of the city are so tangible that it isn't necessary to have been to Paris to know what it's like when you first see the Eiffel Tower, to feel the summer sunshine and smell the café au lait and baguettes wafting from side walk cafes. The story totally bounces off the page and you are immediately drawn into Molly's story of youth, growing up, family, friendships, strangers, travel and the beauty of believing in yourself.

My review of this book does not do it justice in any way. Please read it to discover how sweet, encouraging, uplifting and vitalizing it is for yourself.
