Rating: Summary: Love the brothers! Review: I love the Quinns brothers, and I can't wait to read the rest of their stories. However, I felt that the development of Cam and Anna's relationship is too quick. The attention on the brothers is so strong that the romance is not as emotional as some of her other books. Anyway, I love to read the conversation between the brothers, and I hope that the stories of Ethan and Phillips will come soon.

Rating: Summary: Nora Does It Again! Review: Once again, I am amazed by the creativity that can come from one person's mind! Nora has a gift for creating characters that leap from the page and into the reader's heart. Ever since the first book I read of hers (Hidden Riches), I have rarely if ever been disappointed by a Nora Roberts book. I laughed out loud at the conversations between the brothers, as did my mother (she rarely laughs out loud when reading a book), particularly the shopping episode! My only complaint about Nora's books continues to be the lack of proofing throughout her novels. Particularly in the last 3 years, there always seem to be an enormous amount of typos and other inconsistencies that should have been caught by someone in the publishing process. (Hence the "9" rating rather than "10.") Overall, you still can't find a better read than one of Nora's stories. I've even taken to her JD Robb books, and I'm not a fan of futuristic novels! Wow! (Note: you should read these in order to better follow the relationship between the characters, beginning with Naked in Death.) Christine
Rating: Summary: Definitely another winning book by Nora Roberts! Review: I thought that this was one of her best books. I loved how she went into such detail with the relationship between Seth and Cameron. I felt like I knew them after I finished the book. I think that some writers have a hard time getting up close and personal with the characters in their books, but this is not the case with Nora Roberts. I thought that Cam's relationship with Anna was intriguing and somewhat steamy, though it wasn't the best that she had ever conjured, but very enjoyable nonetheless. I would definitely recommend adding this to your personal library. I figure sometime soon, I'll have to read it again, like right before I read Ethan's story!
Rating: Summary: How can you not love the Quinns??!! Review: This latest novel of Nora Roberts has me anxiously waiting for the next two Quinn stories. This first book was fabulous and Cameron Quinn, definitely a man living on the edge, was totally irresistable. While Cameron and Anna find each other and a consuming love, the author weaves a magical web of mystery and anticipation surrounding the roots of the young boy, Seth, and the unexpected death of the father, Ray Quinn, and leaves the reader anxiously waiting for resolution in the upcoming books. The next book in the series will be Ethan Quinn's story, no doubt another great story about a strong man with good old family values and integrity. I'm looking forward to falling in love with each of the Quinn brothers, and solving the mysteries surrounding the Quinn family.
Rating: Summary: Sea Swept Demonstrates Roberts' Recycling Ability Review: Sea Swept may give readers a case of deja vu. But don't worry, you are not losing your mind, Roberts is just traversing some familiar ground in her latest mainstream romance. Granted, this is hard not to do, given the number of books Roberts has written. With Sea Swept's main characters, the three Quinn brothers, Roberts has re-cycled some of her earlier work, especially her Mackenzie brothers series for Silhouette Intimate Moments. Even though we've seen these guys, or shades of them, before, they are still entertaining. While Roberts may have a gift for creating appealing and realistic male characters, she too often draws heroines that are equally unappealing. Such is the case in Sea Swept. Anna Spinelli, the love interest for hero Cameron Quinn, is unsympathetic. Though Roberts tried to create a strong, pulled-herself-up-by-her-bootstraps heroine, what she ends up with is an unattractive woman who comes across as rather cheap. Hero Cameron Quinn, disappoints as well. His transformation from immature, self-absorbed playboy to responsible, somewhat grown-up,is unconvincing. Given the shortcomings of Roberts' main characters, it is not suprising that their love story leaves readers cold. Based solely on sex, Cameron and Anna's relationship is shallow and leads to an unconvincing happily-ever-after ending. Sea Swept's best moments are the scenes between the Quinn brothers. They are funny and the dialog and thought processes of the men ring true. In these instances, Roberts does prove that she knows how to write convincing male characters. What Roberts is unable to prove, though, is that she, or her editor, proofread her work. Early in then novel, Quinn brother Phillip has a navy blue Land Rover. Later on he has a Jeep. This kind of sloppiness should not be tolerated by writers, editors or readers. Readers will tire of the too-good-to-be-true patriarch of the Quinn family, "The Mighty Quinn" (ugh). His saintliness gets old fast and, Surprise, Cameron starts having conversations with the man, who, in addition to his other sterling qualities, has to ability to come back from the dead to offer comfort and counsel to his children. This book gets a 6 because Roberts failed to create a hero and heroine that engage readers' sympathies or interest. The skill and humor she displays in the creation of the three Quinn brothers is not enough to offset the failings of the hero, heroine and their relationship.
Rating: Summary: Another A+ effort from Nora Roberts Review: I couldn't put this one down! The characters were portrayed with the warmth and humor we are accustomed to from Ms. Roberts. Having to wait so long for the next book in the series will be rough, but well worth it, I'm sure. Ms. Roberts' portrayal of the troubled young Seth is bittersweet. The relationship between Cameron and Seth is a mixture of sweet, sad and funny. This story line alone would have been enough to keep me reading, but then we have the treat of watching Cameron fall for a social worker who keeps him on his toes. We fall for Anna as well. She seems a very real character, tough yet gentle. Her difficult life's experiences have shaped her for the better and her compassion for Seth is heartwarming. On the one to ten scale, I'd rate this book an eleven!
Rating: Summary: Another brilliant work from the pen of Nora Roberts Review: Three brothers united by love, but not by blood, make a deathbed promise to their dying father that they will raise the latest stray he has taken into his home. The trio see their own troubled pasts in Seth's eyes and try to make the troubled youngster feel that he has a home with them as long as he wants to stay. However, the primary care of Seth falls on the shoulders of the oldest of the threesome, Cameron, who has given up his on the edge lifestyle to care for the child. Anna Spinelli, the social worker assigned to Seth's case, is surprised that the three men want to add Seth to their family. It is her responsibility to insure that Seth's best interests are considered even if it means placing the lad in a different foster home. However, matters turn complicated when Cameron and Anna start to fall in love with each other, especially since he lives for the day and she believes in tomorrow. SEASWEPT is another hauntingly poignant work from one of the great master writers of romance, Nora Roberts. It is a novel that not only entertains, but succeeds in educating the public to the short and long term effects of physical (including sexual) abuse. It is hard to believe that Ms. Roberts can continue to top her previous masterpieces, but somehow she always manages to do the impossible and scribe a better book. If a reader ever wonders how anyone can improve on perfection, just read a Ms. Roberts' novel. Harriet Klausner
Rating: Summary: A touching and wonderful story! Review: "Sea Swept" is the first book in the trilogy revolving around the Quinn brothers of Cheseapeke Bay. The entire trilogy is a must read, although each book can stand on its own. The Quinns are three brothers who were all taken in by Ray Quinn and his wife as abused and neglected juvenile delinquents. Because of the love and understanding of their adopted parents, the Quinn boys turned their lives around and they became a true family. This is the story of Cameron, the eldest, who is called back home from his life of sailing and adventure after his father is injured in a car accident. As Ray Quinn dies, he asks his three sons to raise Seth, the boy he has just recently adopted. Cam struggles to deal with his father's death and tries to reach Seth's guarded heart. He also meets Anna Spinneli, Seth's social worker, and begins to develop a relationship with her. The romance between Cam and Anna is realistic and very passionate. The relationship that Cam and his two brothers, Ethan and Phillip, develop with Seth is truly touching and is perfectly written by Nora Roberts. As the brothers struggle to solve the mystery of who Seth really was to their father, and at the same time try to convince the government that they are capable of raising a child, there are all kinds of funny, heart-warming, and poignant scenes. In the midst of all this, Cam and Anna develop deep feelings for each other and try to figure out where those feelings will take them. The result is an absolutely superior book that you won't soon forget. Trust me, you will love these brothers!
