Summary: Brilliantly developed characters and compelling plot
Review: I bought this book on the strength of the other reader reviews on amazon.com. I'd never heard of Nora Roberts and had no idea what type of fiction she normally writes.

Only after I'd finished the book did I read some of the blurb on the author and her other books and discovered, to my surprise and shock, that Nora Roberts is a romantic fiction writer.

I am a man and had I known Nora Roberts writes romantic novels I would NEVER ever have bought this book. At first, when I realized I'd just read (and thoroughly enjoyed) a book that I would normally have dismissed as romatic drivel, akin to a Mills & Boon, or a Barabara Cartland novel, I had a minor panic attack!!

I started to question my masculinity, my intellingence, my taste. I seriously considered suicide! But then, I realized, this book is very well written. I read it in one sitting. I was compelled and intrigued from the beginning to the end and the strength and development of the characters is superb. I found myself truly caring about what happens to these people, felt involved in their feelings and desperate to know what happens next.

So, to all those hard bitten men out there who are looking for a good read, but are shying away from this book because of its author's romantic fiction background, don't be. Buy it, read it and enjoy it!

I bit the bullet, risked being humiliated by my friends and went out and bought the sequel Rising Tides as soon as it was released in paperback and am now waiting impatiently for the final installment. I've even recommended this book to some of those friends (albeit the more understanding and sensitive ones), publicly declaring that I enjoyed a romantic novel - so it must be good!!!

Summary: fast moving story
Review: Nora Roberts has proved that she can tell a story. The details make you feel for the characters. You will find yourself rooting for some of the characters to pull through. You will find you will relate to these characters as though you have know them, or maybe wish you had. (I did enjoy the ghost visits, as I feel our love ones are near, whether we choose to notice or not.) The only objection I have is I do not feel it necessary to go into details with steamy love scenes! It is not that I am a prude, but I don't find this to be necessary to tell a good story. I can't wait to read the next book of hers.

Summary: absolutely love this book!
Review: a friend gave me a copy of rising tides, not knowing it was the second in a trilogy so i rushed out to get this one to read it first and wow....what an amazing read it was. ive read a few of roberts books and have noticed that most of them deal with a set of 3 women, so it was nice to see her using men as her main characters (something she must know a lot about being surrounded by all men :) i am able to find the traits of men in my own life in cam, ethan and phillip...they are that realistic. i actually found myself laughing out loud while reading this book which is something that has *never* happened before...::smile

Summary: Sea Swept will sweep you away! <g>
Review: Nora has penned yet another winner! Her Eastern Maryland Shore trilogy will become as beloved as the BORN IN series & the DREAM series because of the chemistry between the Quinn boys & Seth.

With Sea Swept, you have the hero, Cam, who was a globe-trotting playboy boat racer. He is called home when he learns that his father was in a mysterious one car accident. When he arrives, he finds Ray Quinn on his death bed; his other two brothers in shocked disbelief; and yet another Quinn project, 10-year-old Seth.

Ray's deathbed wish was for Cam & his brothers to take care of Seth. Three grown men --- all unique in their temperament, interests, and desires --- in charge of a 10 year old.

Let the Nora Roberts magic take you away.

You'll laugh. You'll cringe. You may even cry. Nora knows how to pull on all of our emotions.

Oh yeah, there is a romance in the story. Cam meets his match in social worker, Anna Spinelli. The sparks fly between these ! two in more ways than one!

But mostly, Sea Swept focuses on the relationships between the Quinn boys & Seth. And that, in this reader's opinion, is Nora's greatest strength -- her ability to create relationships between her characters -- no matter what their sex -- no matter how many legs they have. (The dogs in this story are FAB)

Some of the best scenes occur w/the Quinns & Seth @ school and @ the mall.

Great stuff, Nora. Very worthy of your first NY Times #1 best-selling book!

Summary: Ethan, Cameron, and Seth
Review: This book shows how children who have been abused and neglected can become responsible human beings when put into the right setting and when they receive a great deal of patience and caring. I loved the way the brothers pull together even under protest when given the responsibility of Seth, a 10 year old delinquent. I can hardly wait for the second book in the trilogy so that I can find out if Seth really is the biological son. Love again conquers all.

Summary: "Seaswept" will wash Ms. Robert's fans away!
Review: People may discount my opinion as "name" biased, but I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in Nora Robert's new trilogy. I re-read it a second time last week in anticipation of "Rising Tides", and enjoyed it almost as much as the first. While Cam and Anna possess the sexy looks and wild passion sadly beyond the comprehension of mere mortals like us, it was fun to watch the sparks fly with these two interesting characters. It looks like Ethan and Grace share more down-to-earth roles in this trilog, and I look forward to meeting them as well as watching Seth blossom in the love of this unique Quinn family. As true "Romance" fans know, these stories are not designed to compete with Jane Austin. Understanding the genre, and appreciating the gift a writer must have to be as prolific as Nora Roberts, I say "thank you" to a writer who never disappoints her readers. She continues to set the standard for my tastes in this genre along ! ! with Debra Smith, Penelope Williamson and Tami Hoag.

Summary: I loved this book!
Review: This was my first Nora Roberts book and was recommended to me by a clerk in my favorite used book store. I'm really glad that I took her advice! The characters in this book really come to life. The relationship between the three brothers and Seth is realistic, heart warming and funny all at the same time. This was a great read and I can't wait for the other two books to come out.
