Summary: OK-Don't Understand the Hype
Review: This book was OK. I am definitely in the minority on this one, but I didn't find it particularly hot. Most of the sex scenes just didn't do it for me. While there were an abundance of them, they were not very graphic or enticing. I also didn't find the book to be particularly well written. Try Marly Chance for some really hot books.

Summary: A open blow to your body
Review: This book will take you on a trip and you will wish it never ends. The detail in the book is so great you will feel like your're there. What makes it so different from other books is that the female's can feel the pain, happiness, etc her mate is going through. The passion in this book will keep you up until its done. Please read it you will not reget it.

Summary: ground breaking
Review: This has got to be the funniest book I've ever read. I was laughing out loud every other second. This is about a woman named Kyra from earth who gets kidnapped by her Sacred Mate Zor, who is a warrior and emperor in another galaxy. The book is told mainly through the heroine's perspective so you learn the rules of the world as she does. I think this is what makes the book so funny because you never know what's going to happen and Kyra's reactions to everything are hilarious!

A couple of reviewers have likened this book to porn. I'm glad I decided to judge for myself because I would have missed out on the best book I've read in years. I would never say this book is porn. I would say it's racy, sexually interesting, and campy, but I would not call it porn. Plus hello I think it says right on here it is an erotic romance so I wouldn't buy it if you have anything against that.

Also, I am black but I do not get why people on here said Geris' character was like a spoof on black women. I am wondering if we read the same book. Kyra the white lady is funny. When her best friend Geris is funny it is a spoof? I think people need to lighten up a little bit. I do agree with whoever here said the point of this whole book is to lighten up and have a good time. This book isn't some boring dried up thing you are forced to read in high school or college that begs to be taken seriously. it's a book that begs for you to have a good time and lose yourself in a funny and sexually interesting world.

Summary: A MUST HAVE FOR ROMANTICA READERS
Review: This has got to be the ultimate of all romantica novels. First you cannot go wrong with a Jaid Black story, she writes very hot romantica. Secondly, this story - the first in the Trek Mi'Qan series - introduces you to quite a collection of characters and worlds that anybody worth their salt would beg to go visit.

If you have never partaken in the romantica experience then this is a good place to start - you will not put this book down once you start!

The only drawback is that once you read one you MUST read them all! Which to a reader is really no drawback at all!

Summary: THE BEST of Jaid Black
Review: This is a full length futuristic time travel and boy does it sizzle. If you like erotic romance I recommend anything by this author but most especially this series and Warlord.

Summary: Interesting. But Only Just
Review: This is a quick and fun read if you're willing to allow yourself several hours of a willingness to suspend disbelief. If you are not a fan of explicit sexual encounters set in a world where women are pleasure slaves, you might want to skip this one completely. Some parts of The Emperess' New Clothes are worth a few chuckles here and there.

Having said all that, my biggest problem with this book is the main characters are for the most part, cardboard cut-outs. Romance/romantica isn't just about plot, but about characters who jump right off the page and into the reader's heart. This didn't happen with me in this book. Zor was the overbearing and arrogant alpha male stock type that I thought romance had done away with nearly a decade ago. Not only did his attitude drive me to distraction, it seemed that he couldn't see past his own very large member that Kyra, the woman he claimed to 'love' was actually a real-life flesh and blood human being.

And Kyra Summers, the human woman kidnapped by Zor to be his 'Sacred Mate' was everything about a female character I have always loathed in romance. She was far too passive for my tastes, accepting too easily her new 'status' as available lust object. Sure, she was a little miffed about hatching children rather than carrying them for nine months, and she wasn't all that thrilled about having extremely large (...)for several weeks, but that seemed to be the extent of her 'rebellion'.

I didn't get any sense of any true erotic tension or real emotion between Kyra and Zor, and neither did they show any growth as characters.

The only saving grace was Geris, Kyra's best friend. Contrary to what some reviews have said about her being a 'stereotype' (and I have to wonder if it's their own stereotyped views of black women which might cloud their judgements), her character had all the spunk and attitude that I wished Kyra had. I can see Geris placing a few big grains of sand into the machine of Trystonni life and driving Dak crazy. I will be reading her story next.

The sex, at least for me as a writer and reader of erotica, was rather tame in scope. I was hoping for hot and cutting edge, but ended up with pages and pages of vanilla couplings. I didn't have any issue with the whole non-monogamy aspect of the book, but it seemed as if the 'rules' were slightly skewed in favour of the males. I also found it a little interesting that Ms. Black shied away from an encounter between the Chief Priestess Ari and Kyra that didn't involve Zor. Also, there was just NO emotional tension or bonding in the scenes. It was like reading a manual or something.

The world of Tryston wasn't as fleshed out as I'd hoped for such a good-sized book. It would have been interesting to read about the evolution of Trystonni society and why women are in the positions they are. I didn't have any issues with the whole women as sexual mates/domination angle, but it would have worked better in the hands of a more skilled writer.

Still, Jaid Black is to be commended for being one of the pioneers of the romantica field, though personally, I think Robin Schone is still the reigning queen.

Summary: The Empress' New Clothes
Review: This is a very warm, funny, and sweet book. Jaid has caught my attention from the first page. If you like your sex steamy and erotic, then this is the book for you. Jaid brings the characters to life and makes you wish that this place really did exhist. It's a time old story (boy meets girl or kidnaps girl)with a twist. I couldn't and didn't want to put the book down. I plan to read the rest of the series, so far I am on the 3rd book. It is an adventure waiting to happen. I highly recommend it.

Summary: The Empress' New Clothes: Trek Mi Q'an Series Book 1
Review: This is a wonderful beginning to an interesting series.
If you are tired of waiting for Dara Joy to continue the Matrix of Destiny stories, here is a slightly more erotic version. The
writing is good and the story is humorous. The men are dominant
and the women turn to mush for a good reason.

Kyra Summers is claimed and transported to the seventh dimension
by her "Sacred Mate" Emperor Zor. It is a very sensual place where a warrior's desire for his wife and her happiness takes

priority.

Summary: Hot, Funny, Extremely Well Written!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This is my first Jaid Black book. I started it at 10pm last night and finished it at 1:30am this morning. The plot began looking like the old "GOR" novels but quickly moved way past them. The central female characters are absolutely wonderful, fiesty, and above all Halarious! The erotic parts are hot, hot, hot!. It's nice to read a writer who isn't afraid to explore all relms of sexuality. But don't just read it for the erotica, it's a [darn] good story and flows incredibly well.

Summary: this is an excellent erotic romance
Review: This is not a book for the prudish or the easily offended, but if you're looking for an excellent erotic romance book get this one. It's an ebook and it comes on CD and its about as long as a regular novel in print. I saw this book mentioned in Romantic Times magazine as a favorite for women's erotica and I can see why. It is sexy, it has an engrossing plot, and it is fall off of your seat hilarious. If you get offended by erotic situations you might not want this book, but if you enjoy reading steaming novels get this one. The rest in the series get hotter and hotter.
