Rating: Summary: Makes you want more Review: This is a book that will put you right there in the story itself. When a book becomes apart of you, that you are right there living very thing that happens, what can one say, you forget your own day to day and become one with the book. What a way to go somewhere for awhile. All three of these a must read.
Rating: Summary: Well written, believable story, leaves you smiling Review: Nora Roberts does a wonderful job of making the reader a part of the small sea side town on the Eastern Shore. The characters are belivable and dynamic and you learn them very well. There are no gaps left to be filled. This is a story of two people who are dealing with their own deamons but at the same time yearning for each other. Grace and Ethan belong to the other in their hearts but have never spoken the words. Neither one knows about the other's secret love until a very insightful sister-in-law plans to get them together. This is not all story book, there are some bumps along the way. Does the single mom and the man that was once a street wise kid end up together? You have to read and find out. I read the book in 3 days. Enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Rising nothing! Review: Am I the only one who thought this story was contrived. It appeared to me that though Ethan has been in love with Grace for ten years, he decides (or she does!) to tell her about it when Nora Roberts decides to write a story? It was a forced story. Since there were three brothers, there had to be three maidens, however strange it may seem. I think Roberts needs to concentrate on writing stories and not series. The characters in this book seemed to be doing things to please the writer than themselves. I have always believed that characters come alive once you start writing, but not in this one. They stayed buried and to think I hunted for this book when I was in Europe. I was disappointed!
Rating: Summary: How can you not love these characters?! Review: "Rising Tides" is a wonderful book. I loved the first in this series. I was deeply moved by this one. The relationship between the Quinn family continues to fascinate me. And Ethan is a far more compelling hero than his older brother. Ms. Roberts has a particularly fine hand with the inner struggles of a wounded soul. Where I felt that the romance was more of a side note in "Sea Swept," in this book, the tortured road to real love was a true revalation. Grace is a strong enough character in her own right that she seems to belong in this picture. Can hardly wait to see what Phillip Quinn gets himself into.
Rating: Summary: Emotionial , heartbreaking and non-stop reading Review: Once again I was not disappointed by Mrs.Roberts and her book Rising Tides . It was every bit as exciting as Seaswept was and the Quinn brothers did not disappoint me either. Waiting to see the out come of Seth and the Quinn brothers in the new book Inner Harbor . Also to see the battle that Philip puts up with whom ever it is thats lucky enough to get him. Thank you Mrs.Roberts for writing such wonderful and emotional books that have you crying one minute and laughing the next.
Rating: Summary: Great beach reading - de-stressing Review: Not as good as Seaswept (lst in trilogy) but the relationship between protagonist Ethan and his new sidekick/brother Seth is appealing and somewhat realistic for this type of novel.Great easy reading, nothing too complex to think about after a hard day at work. Perfect beach novel -- time to unwind. I look forward to book #3.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic sequel, not quite as good as Sea Swept, but close Review: I bought this book as soon as it was released in paperback and read it in one sitting. Although not quite as good as the first book in this trilogy, Sea Swept, this book continues the development of the characters and the story wonderfully well and leaves you impatiently waiting for more. I bought Sea Swept on the strength of the other reader reviews on amazon.com. I'd never heard of Nora Roberts and had no idea what type of fiction she normally writes. Only after I'd finished Sea Swept did I discover that Nora Roberts is a romantic fiction writer. I am a man and had I known Nora Roberts writes romantic novels I would NEVER ever have bought Sea Swept. When I realized I'd just read (and thoroughly enjoyed) a book that I would normally have dismissed as romatic drivel, akin to a Mills & Boon, or a Barbara Cartland novel, I had a minor panic attack!! I started to question my masculinity, my intelligence, my taste. I seriously considered suicide! But then, I realized, that these books are very well written. I was compelled and intrigued from the beginning to the end of both books and the strength and development of the characters is superb. I found myself truly caring about what happens to these people, felt involved in their feelings and desperate to know what happens next. I am hooked and am now waiting impatiently for the final installment in this story. I've even recommended these books to some of my friends publicly declaring that I enjoyed a romantic novel and risking humiliation - so they must be good!!!
Rating: Summary: Can't wait for the next one. Review: Rising Tides is the best novel I had read yet. It contains a range of emotions that I saw in the other book, Sea Swept. Nora Roberts has kept that going and it shows. You won't feel disapointed.
Rating: Summary: Captivating plot that left me hungry for more Review: After reading Sea Swept, I couldn't wait for this second book in the trilogy. But wait I did, and was very pleased with Rising Tides. The characters are solid; the story line is intriguing, exciting and everything I'd hoped Ms. Roberts would write. Her ability to create characters and fit them into different surroundings astonishes me. I've now read about 10 of her books and have not been dissappointed yet.
Rating: Summary: wonderful Review: this book draws out all of the readers emotion...love, hate, sadness followed by happiness....you grow to love these two (grace and ethan) so much, you could just slap them for wating so long!!! a great read and i can hardly wait till jan. of 99 ::smile
