Rating: Summary: SO GOOD!! Review: This story by Kenyon was great. It made me laugh, angry, sad, and hot!;-D Talon is a really cool character and it's hilarious when he wakes up in Sunshine's "Pink" loft. I would have died if I was surrounded by all that pink. The one thing that crushed me was Talon's past. It was so horrible that I was crying a whole lot (and people call me heatless). I was happy when she made the women more realistic (e.g. Sunshine and her friend,Bride McTieney, the woman Vane likes). I was kind of tired of hearing about women you fit a size 0-7. Overall, the book was great. I've already read Zarek's story, but I really want to read about Acheron's story and why he puts up with that cow Artemis.
Rating: Summary: Page-turning read! Review: Talon is a tortured soul who's spent centuries protecting humans from things that go bump in the night. He's run over by a float, and soon his emotions are running high over a woman. He can't help feeling something for Sunshine...problem is, loving her could kill her.Sherrilyn Kenyon pens a great, page-turning story full of emotion and humor! I'm so looking forward to more Dark-Hunter books!
Rating: Summary: Meet the biker bad boy of the Dark Hunters... Review: What happens when you mix four Dark Hunters (that for the most part hate each other), three wanna be Gods (that are trying to release the Destroyer), and several packs of Were-Hunters? Mardi Gras! In the process of kicking Daimon rear lon gets run over by a runaway float and taken home with Sunshine Runningwolf, an artist that doesn't believe in coffee and eats soy cheese. Wanting nothing more than to keep her safe and call her his own Talon can't, fearing a curse set on him by an ancient Celtic God: any mortal that gets close to him (including a squire) will die. Sunshine understands that Talon only wants a one-day stand, and yet the "Not Exactly a Vampire" man seems to keep coming back. Which makes it all the harder, because she knows she'll have to let him go. Then the more time she spends with him, the more she starts having all these past life dreams about herself and a Talon that hasn't really changed. In true Kenyon form, NIGHT EMBRACE is full of jaw dropping hysterical one-liners. I'm amazed each of the characters has such a huge difference in personality. While I'm trying not to give anything away, with this story the world expands as each character brings their own form of chaos to New Orleans regardless of the reasons they are present. And while this is Talon and Sunshine's story, each "bad-boy" introduced will leave you yearning to hear their tale. This is another hit from Sherrilyn Kenyon. If you haven't read any of the previous Dark Hunter novels, Sherrilyn has a fabulous off beat sense of humor, with guys that sleep all day and play all night (and kick Daimon rearYou can't miss NIGHT EMBRACE as the Dark Hunter saga continues.
Rating: Summary: A Great Read! Review: Ms. Kenyon has written a spellbinding book with twists and turns throughout. It was romantic, sexy, and thrilling. Readers of Sherry A. Mauro will love this writer, too and you won't be dissappointed!
Rating: Summary: Intricate, Yet Motives Don't Match Characters Review: No one will get bored with this book, that's for sure. It's the first for me by this author, so I'm anxious to read the others, especially Kyrian's story. But.... There wasn't an ugly or even average-looking person in ALL of New Orleans, it seemed. EVERYone wore leather, too. Mostly, it made no sense that these Dark-Hunter's would kill to protect humans when they seemed to want to kill each other instead. There was a real and ugly hatred between these guys. They could viciously kill anyone and feel no guilt, so it just wasn't believable that they would care one way or the other about the safety of complete strangers.
Rating: Summary: Definatly NOT a cookie cutter romance book!!! Review: Since stumbling across Sherri's website almost 2 years ago I have read almost everything she has written, and have never once been disapointed. NE was probably one of the best of the lot!! All too often romance books are nothing but cookie cutter versions of each other, but not one of Sherri's. The whole series has been carefully planned out, and in conjuction with the website http://dark-hunter.com a whole other world is opened up to the reader. Reading NE was like taking a trip back through New Orleans as Sherri captured it outstandingly, (of course she lived there for so long it shouldn't have been hard) every scene could be so clearly seen in my mind. Sunshine, while slightly ditzy, was a refreshing change from the usual boring advertising executive or marketing type heroines we are subjected too. Talon, Acheron, Nick, Zarek, Val, Kyrian...each of them all have unique powers, coming from their unique differences, which will lead to unique stories. Although it is adviceable to read the books in the right order, Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures followed by Night Embrace, the books will still be an amazing read on their own. I rate NE as a 5 star book because Sherri has taken the time (about 20 years or so) to combine real greek mythology into a highly believeable and proveable vampire series with a real twist. Those of us with imagination will never ever be disapointed reading a book by Sherrilyn Kenyon!!!
Rating: Summary: It is Fun and great to read.. Review: The Dark hunter series Is great it makes you want to more I can not wait until the next books comes Out...
Rating: Summary: Zena fans will love this Review: I just finished the book and let me tell I couldn't put it down. Zena and Buffy fans will love this. The Gods were great and shown in a modern somewhat black leather fashion. It was great. This book was hot and humorous. A combination that wins big time with me. If you're not into the futuristic kind of far fetched genre, then don't bother (some people have no imagination). If your imagination knows no bounds, I say pick it up, put the kids to bed, kiss the hubby goodnight, and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: Entertaining! Review: This is a pretty good series. It starts out in 'Fantasy Lover', then 'Night Pleasures'. It's definitely a fantasy type book - dealing in Gods, vampires, & Dark-Hunters (vampire hunters). I believe that if you wanted to read the series, this one is pretty important to read before the next ones coming out due to the fact that it gives you lots of info on characters of the books following. I have enjoyed the action in these books, but I do an awful lot of skimming due to the fact that there's too much 'he thought about her.....' for 4 paragraphs, 'she thought about him.....' for 4 paragraphs. That's one of my pet peeves in romance books, so it kinda disappoints me in these last 2 books. However, the hero's in these books are just to die for..... tall, gorgeous, sexy-as-[...], not to mention super-human! In fact, this one had so many of them that I couldn't decide which one was best! lol So - I just bet that I can suffer through the next book in the series! lol They are also 'tortured' hero's. In some books that doesn't go over well with me - usually due to the fact that the hero's personality is adversely affected by it; But, that doesn't hold true in these books. I'll have to say that Sunshine (our heroine) was a little fruity & didn't always show a great deal of common sense.... I wasn't that impressed with her intelligence. There is a lot of action in these books, which I always like, & there's lots of humor too. There are loads of secondary characters that are an integral part of the story & really add too it. I really like the setting, New Orleans, although SK doesn't give me as good of a 'feel' for the color of the city as other authors I have read. If you like fantasy romance, then give them a try.
Rating: Summary: I love the Dark Hunter Series! Review: Please do not read this book if you have not read Fantasy Lover and Night Pleasures first. I enjoyed Nights Embrace. I thought SK added more detail to this book than in past books, but I realize she may be doing this because of the long list of Dark Hunter books to come in the future. I couldn't help but feel like Nights Embrace was more of an introduction to the excitement to come. It didn't ruin the book for me. I still laughed and got caught up in the story, but in the back of mind I was left wondering. Make sure to visit her website to read more about the Dark Hunters, their profiles, books and coming soon dates. Sherrilyn Kenyon has created the ultimate fantasy world!!!
