Summary: I want to slap Becky!
Review: The first one was great, the second one had its moments, the joke is wearing too thin on this one. However, I did enjoy the portrayal of the evil mother-in-law. I know a few people like that so I thought it was very realistically done for a change.

Summary: A bit of a disappoinment
Review: Having read the whole series in a matter of a week, I would recommend the trilogy. However, Ties the Knot was my least favorite because I expected a lot more. While Becky isn't nearly as shallow as she was in the first two books and her shopping adventures curtailed, she didn't develop as much as I would have liked. She still reasons everything away instead of owning up. By the third installment, I wanted to see character development and it just wasn't there. So, Becky's shtick of excuses, schemes and indecision, get very old and annoying in Ties the Knot.

The thing that bothered me the most was the main plot. The whole concept of the two weddings was too ridiculous and boring to sustain a whole book. It also showed that Becky really hasn't learned from her past experiences and was as immature as ever. It was frustrating at times to keep reading as it went around in endless circles. The ending was ludicrous and I could spot it coming a mile away.

I wish Kinsella would have finally let Becky grow-up a little, take responsibility and make a decision, instead of the constant schemes and saves that always seem to happen. This plot highlighted the fact that Becky was still very deceptive, even to her fiancee, and it turned me off to her character somewhat.

Instead of the whole wedding plot at the forefront, I would have preferred Luke's character being fleshed out even more than it was. I found myself wanting to know more about him and Becky's relationship; What about Becky does he love? Why does he put up with her nonsense? Generally, more dialogue between the two!

On the plus side, I love following the character through the series. I also like that nothing happens that doesn't figure in somewhere down the line. Kinsella was also consistent with keeping the supporting players, like Suze and Tarquin, involved throughout, and following-up with other character's stories such as Tom and Lucy. Overall, Ties the Knot is worth it if you read the other two. Without reading the other two, I am not so sure. Some people might find Becky amusing if they are only reading this one, simply because they aren't familiar with the other books. Otherwise, Ties the Knot's situations are overkill at this point.

I do hope there will be another book in this series, but one that will fulfill the promise of Ties the Knot.

Summary: Sophie Kinsella is wonderful!
Review: I will admit that this is not my favorite of the shopaholic series, but by no means not recommended! I enjoyed the book very much and have already passed my copy on to my sister for her to enjoy. Very well written book, and I like the way she turned things from her head in the sand attitude about shopping into a head in the sand attitude towards where to get married! A very worthwhile read. If you are a fan of this series, you should not skip this one.

Summary: hilarious
Review: I've had a lot of fun reading the Shopaholic series. I, normally can't get into these wacky character chick books, but Sophie Kinsella, has done a great job with the character of Rebecca Bloomwood. I've read the first two books in the series, liked them and just got finished reading this new book. If Sophie Kinsella, has another Shopaholic book in the works, then that'd be so cool. I can't wait.

Rebecca Bloomwood has finally settled in NYC. She's one of the best personal shoppers at Barneys, she's got great friends, and things are going well with her live-in boyfriend Luke. Her best friend from England, Suze is getting married and Rebecca is invited to the wedding. Which has got Becky thinking of wedding rings and such things. Becky tries to play it cool but she's ecstatic when Luke finally proposes.

Her mom soon dives deep in wedding plans in England, and her cold mother-in-law Elinor is planning a huge wedding at the Plaza Hotel. Rebecca can't say no to either wedding! So the wedding plans go on for both weddings on two different countries, the good ol' U.S.A. and England! Time is ticking fast and its time for Becky to decided which wedding she wants.

Will our favorite Shopaholic be able to tie the knot? How will she pull it off? You're going to have to read the book to find out, 'cause its so hilarious. This book is indeed the best of the series, it was so funny. The novel plays out like a wacky Hollywood comedy.

The only thing that I didn't like was that Suze was marrying her cousin Tarquin! I mean think of the kids! That's just really weird.

She's also got the funniest shopping habits! Its a must read for anyone that's a fan of the series, I hope that Sophie Kinsella writes a fourth Shopaholic book. It was also cool seeing Luke solve his mother issues, and the characters do grow in this book.

Summary: Becky Bloomwood Fan
Review: You must start with Confessions of a Shopaholic and read the entire trilogy. I love the way Kinsella writes. I totally relate to the credit card issues. I cannot say enough about how fun these books were to read.

Summary: As fantastic as "Otherwise Engaged" and "Le Marriage"...
Review: Two of my favorite authors, Suzanne Finnamore (Otherwise Engaged) and Diane Johnson (Le Marriage) have now a third contender in the Best Girlfriend Book category. In comparison to Shopaholic Ties The Knot, Finnamore is more edgy and sophisticated, and Johnson is more literary than this entry to the Shopaloic series -- and yet Becky's trials are very funny, charming, and always end in the precisely right way. I've often given the other two novels as wedding shower gifts -- with rave reviews. Now I have another to add to this fine collection of everywoman experiences pressed gracefully into the pages of a book...

Summary: Shopaholic must tie loose ends!
Review: Becky Bloomwood is going to marry Luke Brandon....in New York or in England? Which mother should prepare the wedding? Where should Becky have the wedding, what dress should she wear, and at how many places can (should) she register? All of these questions have at least two answers, but there can only be ONE wedding. In her final debut, Becky Bloomwood must make her decision between weddings, families, friends, and she must choose carefully. The reader will be impressed at Becky's inner growth. What she gains from her experiences are invaluable and cannot be paid off by using a credit card or a check from her joint account with Luke. We finally get to see Becky take responsibility for untangling the mess she is in....so she can tie the knot with no loose ends!

Summary: Romantic and sweet.
Review: So much is happening in the world of Becky Bloomwood. Weddings surround Becky, as Luke ponders asking the big question. Before you know it, Becky is planning her own wedding. This book is hilarious, and I couldn't put it down. I'm hoping that Kinsella will write another book in this series. All in all, it's a must read for every "Shopaholic" fanatic!

Summary: Lighthearted & Captivating
Review: This was an excellent read! I read the entire trilogy in a week and a half! Kinsella has a very captivating writing style. ANYONE who shops can truly relate to this series! I wish there would be a "Shopaholic has a baby" but it looks this book is the end of the series. I can't wait until Kinsella's next release. 2004 seems too far away.
