Summary: How could this book possibly have been published?
Review: I find it amazing and discouraging that this truly poor book would be received well by anyone. The author seems not to know how to construct a sentence. The grammar is terrible. Words are summarily invented. Moreover, the main character is a self-centered, stupid, spendthrift who enjoys burdening others with the consequences of her unfettered appetites. Luckily, England has also given us Shakespeare and Swinburne,

Summary: shopaholic ties the knot
Review: I am astounded that this book was published, much less edited. The author seems bent on inventing words, usually adverbs, in every sentence, i.e. "blearily, puzzedly." Not only is the grammar appalling, but the dialogue is repetitive and boring. The idiotic main character lies, whines and deceives her way through life's everyday struggles. What a pitiful representative of the British educational system and of young women today.
I completely agree with the reviewer who wanted to give the book 2 negative stars and felt sorry for the trees who sacrificed their lives for the paper it was printed on.

Summary: Still pretty good
Review: This book let me down a little bit after the amazing first 2 books in the series. However, Becky Bloomwood was still the girl I came to love and admire, with all her quirky ways and wonderful sense of humour. If you've read the first two, you've got to finish off with this one. It gets a little far fetched, but we're all looking for an escape from reality some times, right!?

Summary: Silly as it gets!
Review: This book is about as silly as it gets! If you are looking for a light read, this book is perfect, as are the previous 2 books in the series.
Becky is a total airhead, with nothing much going on between her ears besides thoughts of shopping. She seems even more flaky than she was in the prior books.
Luke seems to have undergone a personality change. No longer does he seem to have passion, and frankly I wondered what Becky saw in him.
Suze returns, and is one plus of this book. She is level headed when Becky is off dreaming, and in my favorite scene she calls Becky selfish, which is dead on in my opinion.
I'm not sure where this series could go from here. Becky would be a terrible mother. Could you ever imagine her giving up her extravagant shopping sprees to save for her child's college fund?

Summary: i love this series!
Review: this one is not as good as the first two, but it was still a wonderful read and a very good farewell to our beloved becky bloomwood.

Summary: Dissappointing
Review: I loved both of the previous Shopaholic books, but this one left me feeling disappointed. The idea that she had two weddings on the same weekend was just dumb. This was not how I expected the book to end at all and although sometimes it's a good thing when a book takes an unexpected turn, this time it just made me think dumb, dumb, dumb. I also thought Luke came off as a driveling idiot instead of the dashing, strong character he was before.

Summary: Only Becky could plan 2 weddings for the same date!
Review: Luke and Becky are in the US. She has the most wonderful job in fashion - she is a Barney's personal shopper. Luke meanwhile is hard a work on the New York office of his company. They go back home for Sue's wedding and well... I won't ruin the surprise. But, this is "Ties the Knot" so most of the story will revolve around the wedding preparation of Becky and Luke.

Luke and Becky have a joint account for their household expenses. Is a MuMu skirt really a household expense?

Becky's mom starts planning the wedding they have saved for even before she goes back to the US. But, wait Luke's mom decided that she will pay for a wedding at the Plaza in NY. Becky is dead set against the Plaza until she sees it and the wedding planner starts to make her dreams come true. Becky will decide which one she wants and then everything will be ok.

But in true Becky luck things happen to make it impossible to cancel the Plaza wedding but -- No it can't be true can Becky be hiding the truth 2 weddings the same day on different continents? Also can she handle the stress of the ultimate shopping experience - wedding registry.

In this one you will again feel for Becky as she is trying to hold it all together, especially when Luke has some issues and is not a help. I laughed hysterically and also hurt for Becky in this one again.

A fantastic book!

Summary: Love this book!
Review: I thought this book was really fun. I couldn't put it down. Becky Bloomwood gets herself in quite a situation with two weddings going on at the same time on different continents. This crazy girl makes the rest of us not feel so bad about a little shopping!

Summary: A Total Dud
Review: The main character of the book and her antics are so unbelievable, that even stretching the imagination that far is impossible. She lacks depth and brains. Also, the amount of typos and grammatical mistakes completely amazed me! Don't waste your time or money.

Summary: Thoroughly enjoyable
Review: I grabbed SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT off the racks of an airport bookstore, having read every other book sold there that possibly might interest me. Being a bit too old for "chicklit," I wasn't expecting much. KNOT turned out to be a delightful surprise.

Author Sophie Kinsella has created a marvelous creature in heroine (and bride-to-be) Becky Beechwood. The voice of her character rings completely true; and Becky is a genuine New York type, even if she's English.

As a New York bride myself, once-upon-a-time, I enjoyed Kinsella's descriptions. In my day, we thought that we were completely over the top but I have noticed, among the daughters of friends, that the current generation of brides makes their mothers look like amateurs. Kinsella got all of this energy, the obsessiveness, and manic attempts at perfection, rampant in modern wedding planning.

At the same time, she tells an interesting story which includes a conflict that does not inform the reader of its resolution early on, a problem in too many other women's novels. The ancillary characters are compelling as well, in a medium that rarely includes any characters other than the hero and heroine.

I don't like reading sequels before original work but, in this situation, I am going to go backwards and read the first two SHOPAHOLIC novels. SHOPAHOLIC TIES THE KNOT was a thoroughly enjoyable read, and the plane was landing before I knew it.
