Rating: Summary: yippee! another shopaholic book! Review: I was gloomily browsing the bookstore looking for something fun to read and lo- a robin's egg cover jumped out at me! Could it really be? Another Shopaholic out so soon? Yeeeesss! And it was good! I have to admit I don't recall giggling out loud as I did with the other two but it was a treat.
Rating: Summary: Funny, Funny Book Review: This is the first in the series I have read, and after finishing this installment, I am anxious to begin with the first and move forward. I won't give a synopsis as that's been done several times, but suffice to say this is a laugh-out-loud book that is a joy to read. Becky Bloomwood is a wonderful character and the mess she gets herself into with two weddings is hilarious. This book will not disappoint!
Rating: Summary: Shopaholic Ties the Knot Review: I loved this book. I love the tales of Becky Bloomwood & hope there are more to come!! While this focuses less on Becky's Shopaholic tendencies, just on the odd situations she gets in, it is still a great read. Much more romantic than the first two. A couple of holes in this book, but still well worth the read!!!
Rating: Summary: It keeps getting better Review: I don't really have much to write except that the plot of Becky just keeps on getting better. I think it's such a cute novel. If you really liked the first two I suggest to go out and get this one because it is comical , and sweet.
Rating: Summary: THIS IS SOOO ME !! Review: I just received the book yesterday and I am already finished. I could not put it down. I found myself awake early this morning b/c I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It seems as though Becky and I are on the same page. Just when the first book, Confessions of a Shopoholic came out-- she and I were just alike--it was like reading about me. Then the second, Shopoholic Takes Manhattan, was the same--just like me. And now that I am getting married in Sept. I find Becky and I doing the same things. What am entertaining, funny book. I can't wait--who knows what's next, SHOPOHOLIC HAS A BABY ?? I would reccomend this to anyone who is a shopoholic. To anyone who feels a sense of accomplishment and relied when she carrys that brand new shopping bag.Great, Great, Book !!!
Rating: Summary: Our Favorite Shop-Till-You-Drop Girl Is Back Review: Loyal followers of the Shopaholic series have seen Becky Bloomwood through a lot of things---but now life has never been better for Becky. Not only does she have her dream job (personal shopper at Barney's) and live in a shopper's paradise (Manhattan) but she has just become engaged to long-time boyfriend Luke via a highly romantic and original proposal. Nothing could go wrong for Becky now, or could it? If Becky's mother is planning a traditional family wedding in England while Luke's mother is planning the most extravagant wedding imagineable at the fashionable Plaza in New York and both weddings are scheduled for the same day, you mighy say Becky has a problem. The girl who could never say no to a Vera Wang dress, a Prada sample sale, or new shoes from Christian Louboutin apparently can't say no to either wedding. But even Becky can't be two places at one time, or can she? Becky still has an eye for a fine piece of apparel, but it is Luke who has tremendous character growth in this installment, as he becomes less of an accessory for Becky and a multi-layered man in his own right. Old friends like Suze, Tarquin, and Tom from next door are also there as Becky's wedding day approaches with all the laughter, angst, and turmoil we've come to expect from Sophie Kinsella's brilliant series.
Rating: Summary: Laughed my ...off! Review: Becky getting married?! Luke suddenly pops the question and the ensuing trials and tribulations are hilarious! I don't want to give much away, I hate when people do that. If you liked the first two, you'll love this one... even if it does have a bit more drama than the previous ones. Also recommended: NO ONE'S EVEN BLEEDING and DELANO
Rating: Summary: Becky Bloomwood rides again Review: I absolutely love this writer and the characters in her shopaholic series. I didn't love this like the other two but it is still miles ahead of anything in it's genre. Sophie Kinsella is such a vivid and funny writer and her stories come alive on the page. I really hated Eleanor, the mother as if she were real! She really captures English characters with real insight and affection. The only problem with the story this time was that her dilema was a little too far fetched.
Rating: Summary: In typical Becky fashion... Review: Reading the Shopaholic series has got to be the most fun I've had (reading-wise!) in a long time. Sophie Kinsella has created a genius character in Becky Bloomwood and a hilarious -- yet frustrating -- storyline for her in all three books, and I just can't get enough! This time around, Becky has finally got it under control. She is happily paired with boyfriend, Luke; they are living together in fabulous New York City; Becky's job as personal shopper at Barney's couldn't be better; and things are going well with her family and friends. But when attending best friend, Suze's, wedding, Becky realizes there is something missing her life -- an engagement ring. However, Luke is one step ahead of the game -- he proposes to Becky and all is well with the world...or so it seems... Suddenly, Becky finds herself in a new dimension of bridal registries, wedding planners, engagement parties and more! Her old shopping habits rise to the surface when it comes to picking out cookware -- I mean, who doesn't need a state-of-the-art toaster? But believe it or not, there is a much worse predicament that Becky's got herself into -- she's somehow agreed to getting married in two different places. Now how is she going to get herself out of this mess? Read on to find out... Shopaholic Ties the Knot is pure fun. Becky is just as outrageous as ever, although this time, I believe, she is also pretty frustrating. Sophie Kinsella has done an excellent job with this new chapter in Becky's life and if you loved the first or second book, you won't be disappointed with the third. The ending of this novel left room for another in this series -- let's hope and pray Sophie Kinsella is listening. Becky Bloomwood is one character I'd rather not do without.
Rating: Summary: Great sequel! Review: Another great read from Sophie Kinsella!!! Although Shopaholic Ties the Knot doesn't hold true to the previous two books as far as the character, Becky Bloomwood shopping debt - it is still funny (LOL) that you will enjoy. Becky is torn b/w having the "wedding of the century" at the Plaza Hotel in NY or the small, intimate ceremony back home in England. As both parents of the couple plan the wedding in NY/England, Becky can never find just the right moment to tell the other that the plans are cancelled. Does she really want to have to decide b/w her mother's wedding dress or a Vera Wang? As usual, Becky makes excuses and can never find the right time to tell her Mother that she's decided to get get married in NY and vice versa, she can't seem to tell Luke's Mother (who is paying for the entire wedding) that she really wants to get married in England. In a twist (that I figuered out) Becky and Luck get to have the best of both worlds. If you have enjoyed the adventures of Becky Bloomwood - you will enjoy this!!!!!
