Rating: Summary: Good book but not as good as the first two Review: Becky's trials of the two weddings was amusing but definitely expected from this character. She is back to her orignal shopaholic tendencies, and I like to hear her amusing justifications. While I did not think it was as good as the first two "Shopaholics", I did enjoy the light, easy read. I highly recommend this series!
Rating: Summary: what about "takes Milan" Review: I was a bit disappointed that Becky didn't continue her shopping in Milan and then Paris and on to Rodeo Drive, but I can't resist her. Very entertaining, with some great visual physical comedy ( Amy in the Barney's dressing room, the trip to the maternity hospital), but I liked the pure shopping thrills of the previous two better. Sure hope this isn't the end of Becky...I mean there is designer maternity wear.
Rating: Summary: Did they pay you to write those good reviews? Review: Obviously it wasn't proofread and obviously the people who wrote reviews didn't read it. If they had read it they would have noticed a MAJOR flaw, aside from all little type - o's. From the outset, the 2 weddings never were scheduled to happen on the same day. Mum was planning hers for the 22nd and Elinor scheduled hers on the 21st. morons
Rating: Summary: The 3rd Shopaholic installment - read them in order! Review: This is the third installment in the Shopaholic series...it's definitley worth reading if you've read the other two - Confessions of a Shopaholic & Shopaholic Takes Manhattan. I did enjoy reading it, I just don't think it was as great or as funny as the other two books in the series. If you read this one, make sure you've read the other two first. You'll appreciate all 3 of them more by doing it this way. Shopaholic Ties the Knot is disappointing on its own, but overall it is good when read as the third installment of the series. At the end of the book, there is a sneak peek at a new novel that Sophie Kinsella is writing and due out next year - it looks like it will be another winner!! I am looking forward to reading more of her work!
Rating: Summary: WONDERFUL! Review: I LOVED THIS BOOK...BOTTOM LINE...no really...i'm 15 years old...and i'm not always hot on reading...standing in ny city amtrak...this was in the hudson book store...so i grabbed it fast...and ran for my train...i love this book...so much...it's recomended for anyone {new yorker's preferably} who love a good book...unfortunatly i read the 3rd book before the 1st book {which i am reading now}...and it's hard putting it down...honest...:-)
Rating: Summary: Even better than the last one! Review: Becky Bloomwood, one would think, would get less and less charming as the series goes on. However, just the opposite seems to be true. Each book has been slightly better written than the last one, with this book being rave-worthy. Sure, you know what to expect. Becky gets into trouble, spends the whole book getting deeper in trouble, and is miraculously saved at the end by a brilliant stroke of genius. Does the plot get old? Sure. But the author's style is so charming that we can't help but be seduced once again by Becky. I can't wait for Becky to have a baby - maybe in the next Shopaholic installment! It will be exciting to read the next book by Kinsella, which won't be in the Shopaholic series, and see her light, amusing style applied to another character.
Rating: Summary: I thought i would be bored.... Review: but I had to buy it. It was great , good ideas and not boring.I would definitely recommend it.
Rating: Summary: Becky Bloomwood strikes again... Review: Nothing can explain the anticipation I had for this third book of Becky Bloomwood's life! Again, Sophie Kinsella brings Becky to life, this time for a wedding to long time boyfriend, the charming, rick, Luke Brandon. Anyone who knows Becky well knows that something crazy will happen to her wedding because that's the story of her life! But can she tackle the unexpected things in life once again? Sophie Kinsella has a knack for consistency in her books, and you won't want to miss this addition to the Shopaholic series! We meet up with Suze and Tarquin again and of course Alica Bitchlonglegs pops in! Don't miss this book! I was really also surprised and excited to read the few pages AFTER the ending and you will be too if you're a fan of Sophie Kinsella!
Rating: Summary: Another great edition to this series! Review: I loved this book and couldn't put it down -- learning the latest trials and tribulations of Becky. Ms. Kinsella is so descriptive and such a humorous writer, that I feel as if Becky is a real person or someone I know. This series really should be made into a movie -- and I hope there are more books to come about our favorite shopaholic!
Rating: Summary: Witty and Fun Review: I judged the book by it's nice cover since I had never read any Kinsella books before, and not heard of this series. I found the book witty in places and fun overall - it was highly entertaining, and I didn't need to have read the first few books in the series to understand and enjoy the book (and there would be no point in going back to read them now). I almost put the book down after the first three pages because it started rather slow for me (perhaps because I hadn't read the other series), but it picked up immediately in the second chapter, so don't give up to fast! The book was kind of Bridget Jones-like to give an overall idea, but fun nonetheless. Kinsella gives a short snippet from her next book at the end of the book, and that one looks like it might be worth reading too.
