Summary: Incredible!
Review: I have always loved to read, but this book was beyond words! It reminded me that God loves each and every one of us, the good and the bad. If He can work on one, surely there are others He can touch also. All of Francine's books make me examine my own attitude (which can be holier than thou), and my acceptance of myself and others. Thank you Francine for blessing us with your gift!

Summary: A Beautiful Picture of Christ and His Bride
Review: It based on the story of Hosea, in the Bible. Michael Hosea (like Hosea in the Bible) is told to marry a prostitute, named Angel. He works on her heart, loving her, and helping her work through her wretched past.

It is not a book for the faint-hearted. Francine Rivers is not afraid to hit you with the realities of this world full force. But that in part is what makes it so good. Because if our sin, the evil of this world, is watered down, then the Good, the Salvation is worthless.

There is great depth to this story. While it is all about Michael and Angel and their relationship and their relationships with God, it is also a story about God and how He sanctifies His Beloved Bride, the Church.

Francine Rivers does such a good job of taking hold of your heart. You will cry. You will yell at the characters. Once, I even threw my book down because it made me so angry. But then I pick it up and chapters later I laugh and cry with joy. It is a book that really touches you.

However, I would not suggest this book for younger people. Parents should read it first and then decide. It could be a little too much for some younger people.

Summary: Another brilliant book by this gifted author
Review: This is a story with a wide range of emotions. From the utter depravity of man to the absolute and unconditional love of God.
It follows the story of Michael Hosea and his total surrender to the will of God, regardless of the emotional torture and heartache that sometimes comes with it. It is also the story of Angel, her emotional and physical scars that are borne of a tragic childhood and her journey to complete healing and spiritual awakening.
Based on the Old Testament book of Hosea, it portrays God's wonderful love and patience with his wayward children, by focusing on the example of Michael Hosea's unconditional love for Angel. An inspirational and thought provoking piece of fiction which could be compared to a parable - an earthly story with a heavenly meaning. The book encouraged me to read the book of Hosea, not a book I would probably have read before reading this novel!!
Highly recommended.

Summary: Exceptionally good, attention holder
Review: Great awesome book, so much I could learn and take from it, read it in two sittings, preferably one would have been better.

If you ever want to know what life is like for a victim of abuse, rape, etc. then you have a good glimpse here, I know from experience and could relate to Angel in more ways than I would have liked to but also have been radically changed by His Divine Romance for me...the same He has for each one of us...He pursues us to no avail...

Summary: AWESOME BOOK!!!
Review: This book is probably the best I have ever read. It won't let you go and the message will stick to you!! I read this rather long book in a few weeks although the last half only took me two days. It was very sad and do not read it if you hate stories of mistreated children. This book is incredible and I think every girl needs to read it!!

Summary: This is my favorite book!
Review: I have recommended this book to everyone I know. Everyone who reads it cannot put it down. Francine Rivers transports you into a place where the people are real, and the struggles they experience reflect reality, rather than a cushy "Christian-land."

Summary: Emotionally difficult but important read.
Review: If you have never become acquainted with Francine Rivers' books before, then let me say up front that she is the absolute best Christian fiction author being published today - period. She must do an enormous amount of historical research for her books as her details are so explicit. Her trilogy on Rome beginning with the book, A Voice in the Wind, are some of the greatest books I've ever read in my life.

Additionally, for those unfamiliar with her writing style, Ms. Rivers is not afraid to discuss or write about subjects that are complicated and messy. This book is a testament to that. She journies into the life of a prostitute more than some may care to go - but should. At times, this story of Redeeming Love, a retelling of the life of the prophet Hosea, is difficult to bear. The gritty topic matter is not a light read and at times may make you put the book down for a rest. It is this realism that makes Ms. Rivers' books so powerful. This story explores the unconditional love of an Almighty God and our human instincts to disbelieve or even reject that love. Taking the Biblical story of Hosea and placing it in a more modern setting, the old west, gives the original story a deeper picture and an even clearer message.

For those of you who have already read the book, I urge you to check out the old John Wayne movie, "North to Alaska". I believe that this movie may have been the inspiration for Ms. Rivers' book. The story lines are incredibly similar and even names are identical. Of course, Ms. Rivers' story is far more realistic and deals with weightier issues than this old classic movie, but fans of the book will enjoy watching the film just to marvel at the similarities.

Francine Rivers is one of the few sure bets in Christian fiction these days. I assure you you won't be disappointed with this or any of her other books.

Summary: All I have to say is, "Wow!"
Review: This book is amazing. People say sometimes that a book was so good that they couldn't put it down. I honestly couldn't, and I stayed up all night reading it! I had never read aything by Francine Rivers, but a friend told me about this book, and from her description I knew I had to read it. If you liked this book, read The Atonement Child, it's just as wonderful!!

Summary: FABULOUS!
Review: Redeeming Love is an amazing, powerful love story that is written to pure perfection! This book is based off of the story of Hosea in the bible and follows it quite well. Like all of Rivers books, you will not be able to put this book down, and will want to read it over and over again!
I would recommend this book to anyone as well as Francine's other books. Francine Rivers is an amazing writer and I would recommend her work to anyone!

Summary: Redeeming Love
Review: As one reads this 'love story', one will begin to picture how it parallels with the 'love' God has for mankind; His forgiveness, mercy and grace are unmeasureable; endless.
