Summary: This book grabbed me by the collar and would not let me go!
Review: The first day I bought this book, I sat on my desk and told myself I'd just read a chapter before I go to bed. That was 9pm. No matter how hard I tried, I could not put the book down. I found myself teary eyed, reading the ending, at 5am the next morning. Intending to read just the first few pages, I ended up reading the entire book in one sitting (with one bathroom break!).

Everytime Angel would run away from Michael's love, I would say, "you stupid, ungrateful woman!" But as I was reading, God reminded me of all the times when I myself would backslide from my faith, thinking that I could make it on my own without Him - and of how unconditional His love is (like Michael's) when I come to my senses and ask for His forgiveness. After I finished the novel, I couldn't help but thank God for His forgiving, faithful, redeeming love.

I definitely recommend this book. But don't read it like I did - Don't read it in one sitting until 5am when you need to be at work at 7am.!!

Summary: Great Great Book!
Review: This is the first Francine Rivers book I've ever read (it was suggested by a friend). I couldn't put this book down. I love to read but don't have much time so when I do- it's got to be good or I can't get through it. This is an absolutely wonderful story. As a matter of fact, I'm on my way right now to the bookstore to get another Francine Rivers book! I highly recommend this book and think that everyone can learn from this story.

Summary: How can God's love be this unconditional?
Review: I have just finished reading this wonderful novel. I find myself asking "How can God's Love be so forgiving? How can He still love me even when my actions cause him grief? My husband exemplifies the life of Michael Hosea. His first words to me on the day that he met me were "The Lord told me that you are going to be my wife". I like Angel/Sarah thought "yeah, right. If you knew who and what I really was, you would go running the other way". Well, after 3 years of waiting I did marry him and now 12 years later I look at a man and continue to ask myself and him, how can you continue to love me with all the grief that I cause you? I, like Angel, don't feel worthy of that kind of unconditional love from my husband nor from God. I yearn to feel what Angel must have been feeling that day that she went back to Michael and presented herself to him, naked, and unashamed.

Summary: Best book I ever read!
Review: This truly was the best book I ever read. I don't read much, so it's rare that I find a book that deeply touches my heart as this one does. I'm only 15 and don't have much time for reading but when it came to this book I made time! The part that touched me most was how freely Michael could talk to God. I find myself doing this quite often now and find it very assuring. Thanks Francine!

Summary: Awesome,Awesome,Awesome
Review: I saw this book advertised in a Christian Book Store flyer that was sent to me in the mail. I was so glad to see that Francine had written another book. So I ordered it. I just could not put this book down. I didn't care if I was sleep deprived. I read it constantly till I finished it in three days. This book was so full of joy, laughter, and sadness. This book filled me with such emotion that I felt that my heart would break. I cried real tears reading this story. What an awesome book.

Summary: Very good story-line but a little offensive.
Review: Francine Rivers proves to be an excellent writer. Characterizaton is wonderful as well as story line. I found the sexual content a little offensive. The words are not bad, but the insinuations are. I have read secular fiction books in the past with less sexual content than this christian book. The story was wonderful except for the insinuations that christians should run from.

Summary: Gripping story that touches the heart
Review: This book is a blessing to anyone who reads it. The struggles of Angel and Michael are ones we all go through in our own way. But this story shows how real Love conquers all.

Summary: Truly....The BEST novel I have ever read in my life.
Review: I just want to echo all the other reviews about this incredible book. I was totally captivated by this story and couldn't put it down. Sleep didn't seem near as important as finding out what was going on with Michael and Angel. I can get choked up when reading, but never before have I sobbed. Congratulations, Francine for being the first author to bring me to some serious tears. Even though I was emotionally exhausted at times....I didn't want the book to end. This book truly touched DEEP parts of my heart. I haven't been able to shake this lifechanging book. In fact, like many others, I went out to a local Christian Book Store and bought copies and started giving them away. I was loaned the book to read and immediately after finishing the book I went and bought it (for myself and others). I strongly suggest this book to any/everyone. Don't let this feminine looking cover fool you guys...it'll touch you too. If you want to read another one of her books that is also wonderful, try "The Atonement Child." [By the way, did anyone else notice the subtle Corinthians scriptures in the purple bands on the cover?] If you haven't read it yet.....What are you waiting for?

Summary: Superb Read!
Review: This book is by far one of the best books I've ever read! It challenges you in personal areas of your life. It gives a true depiction of how love is suppose to be. I don't know that I could have this kind of love. The author makes you laugh, cry while bringing out so many other emotions. I'd highly reccommend this to all readers christians and non-christians. It's a book that everyone can relate to. I had initally bought this book for my daughter and ended up reading it first, I couldn't put it down. Never a dull moment!

Summary: Healed many parts-
Review: A friend of mine gave me this book as a birthday present and I was hesitant on reading it. He mentioned that is was based on a story from the Bible and I immediately shyed away from the situation. I normally read trashy romance novels and not the "good ones", but being opened minded I picked it up and started to read. As each chapter passed I could feel myself being healed. By the end of the book, I felt just like the main character shedding years of pain away. When the book was over, I felt sad about it. I wanted to read more and more. I have started reading it again. I honestly believe that this book will change your life.
