Summary: Could not put the books down until I read them all
Review: I have never enjoyed a series of books more than these. Francine Rivers is an excellent story teller. I would especially recommend her books to anyone who likes historical fiction.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A historically accurate and fascinating romance
Review: Rivers excells in historical fiction. These novels, though bitingly real, surpass the general idea of "historical romance." They are an excellent read and a tribute to the author's hard work, dedication, and fatih.

Summary: Best book I've ever read!
Review: I just wanted to say that this series is the best! I have learned so much from the people in these books. Francine Rivers is my favorite author, and this I believe is her best! My spiritual life has changed so much since reading these! I would just like to say, that the Lord has blessed her with the oppurtunity to touch so many people, and I don't think I've known anyone who resisted the change in themselves that they get from her books. Francine, thank you SO much for everything you've done for me and many of my friends! You have truly inspired many!

Summary: I thank God for every newly published Christian book...
Review: ...though mostly I am not able to purchase or read them. Neither have I read this series.I come from a country where there is a very bad economic situation and Christianity is not supported. Yet I am Christian and a book-worm. I would simply love to read the Mark of the Lion! Maybe someone of you Chriastians who are reading this have an old copy availavble? Or some other Christian fiction? I can personally recommend Ben Hur and Quo Vadis - they are magnificent books. You sure have to get hold of them! If you have decided to help me somehow, my email address is brr81@hotmail.com. And please, excuse my poor English - my native language is far from that. And - thank you very, very much ahead. Yours in Christ Barbala

Summary: A Voice in the Wind and An Echo in the Darkness
Review: I was riveted by Rivers extraordinary writing. Hadassah modeled a servant's heart filled with Christ's love. God spoke to me through these books. I cried when I was finished because of the sense of God's hand on my heart. These books have been an instrument to place in me a true hunger for a life of service.

I was also intrigued by the Roman world and that it was but an exaggeration of our current times. Frightening to things of how sinful a society can get with a heart hardened towards God. An incredible reading experience!

Summary: Fantastic Read!
Review: This is one of the best books I've ever read. I couldn't put it down! The author takes you on a emotional journey along with the characters. Rivers expertly draws a parallel between ancient roman society and modern society. It ends in a cliffhanger, so be sure you have book two in the series. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: WOW!
Review: Words can't even describe how much this series touches your very soul! I read this series years ago and I still can't believe how wonderful this series is! Your heart will fill to the brim (so there is room for nothing else) with so many emotions throughout the course of the books. Joy, extreme sadness, serenity/peace, thrill, wonder/amazement! Get ready for the read of your life. I recommend these for anyone! After reading these, I found myself comparing other books to them, i.e., good, but not as good as Francine Rivers' Mark of the Lion series! I can't say enough, so I'll stop now without repeating myself too many times! Enjoy!

Summary: Reevaluate your walk
Review: One of the most powerful books that I have ever read. A definite must for any new Christian or anyone who questions their walk with the Lord. This is a series that will forever impact your life. I read it 2 years ago,and I am still talking about it, and recommending it to friends. It brings to light what loving the Lord with all you have means. Worth spending the money and time to read.

Summary: As sure as the Dawn
Review: I have always wanted to read a novel, but i couldn't find one with christian fiction.I always had to keep reminding myself whenever i got into a bookstore that this was or wasn't good for my spiritual life. Then one day as I hospitalised from a car accident,a friend promised to bring me a novel,of course, it had to be christian. The next day "As sure as the Dawn" was in my hands. I began reading page after page and I couldn't get myself to stop.On many occasions I'd forget to eat.It inspired me to visualise the characters like I was in a movie theater. The two characters Rizpah and Aretes, being the centre of the novel creat a clear picture of what our human weaknesses are and how we need to call on God at all times. On that bed,I began to have hope that just like Rizpah, who had to endure the violent Aretes.I have also great admiration for the use of scripture that Rizpah applies in the most trying times.I think this novel applies to our daily lives ,more especially human relationships. All the characters in the novel are well developed, one can't fail to visualise this story.though it is quite a volume to read, I could not wait to get to the next scene. This led me to "A Voice in the Wind",another thrilling novel. Again here the characters like Hadassah and Julie leave an impact on one's life. There are so many virtues portrayed, of these I admire the confidence(boldness)Hadassah portrays despite the fact that she is a slave. She defies the laws of her masters and yet remains loyal to the point that she risks her life.Nothing compares to it.
