Rating: Summary: She was 18 not 12 When They Became A Couple! Review: First off I want to point off that Christina was only 12 year of age when she was rescued by Marco after he passed by in his ship and saw that the island she lived on was being invaded by pirates. Christina was an orphan and her guardian sent her to that island fully knowing that it was frequently invaded by pirates hoping that she would get killed and then he would inherit her fortune. Ignore reviewers who admit they only read the first page or only read Amazon's brief and incomplete discription for they wrongly think that Marco was having relations with Christina when she was 12. Yes Marco took Christina to live on his own Caribbean island but he had a lover and didn't really pay much attention to Christina and he didn't really even like her too much and thought of her as an annoying pesty little kid and really let Christina do her own thing for years and nothing happened between Marco and Christina though she did try throwing herself at him only to be rejected by him until she was 18 years old and kind of seduced him and I think he was drunk at the time. Like so many other reviewers I didn't like Christina but I actually liked Marco and even though I didn't like the heroine I actually liked this book and I recommend it but I think Fabio should have sent Christina off with the son of Marco's business accaintence and given Marco a more stable girlfriend but I will rate this 3 stars for what I liked but no more than 3 stars!
Rating: Summary: Could Have Been Better! Review: I bought this audio book because the price was inexpensive and I kind of liked the audio cassette recording of Fabio's book Rogue and since one of my favorite movies is about pirates I thought I would like this but I didn't like Pirate, I thought Christina was a spoiled brat and she was an airhead, I thought Marco was obnoxious, basically all the characters are so unlikable!
Rating: Summary: Obnoxious Heroine Ruins This Book! Review: I didn't enjoy this story either but for me personally I didn't think Marco was that bad, it was Christina that I found irritating. She was an obnoxious empty headed twit and in my opinion she was the downfall of this book and I just didn't see why Marco eventually fell for her, I just didn't feel they were right for each other and I just didn't feel like there was really any love. Lust maybe but not love. BtW: I want to point out that though Marco rescued Christina from ruthless pirates on that island in the beginning of the book when she was about 12 years old he thankfully did not begin his relationship with her until she turned 18 but still I found them a mismatched couple and I think that Christina was very bratty and immature for an 18 year old!
Rating: Summary: UGH! Review: I don't know if I should really write a review of this book, seeings how I didn't get past the 2nd chapter. I am a huge romance consumer, but I just could not past the fact that the writing was the worse I've every read to get to the story. And the fact that Marco was attracted to a 14 yr old girl turned me right off. Apart from that, it was still a horrible book. Good thing I bought if from my local library for $.50. It's almost worth that as a doorstopper.
Rating: Summary: Wake me up when it's over Review: I feel Fabio relied on his sex appeal to sell this poorly written, boring book. It is tedious reading and the action drags.
Rating: Summary: The Heroine is too Bratty! Review: I listened to the audiobook recording of Fabio's book Pirate and like some previous reviewers I didn't enjoy this story but for me personally I didn't think Marco was that bad, it was Christina that I found irritating. She was an obnoxious empty headed twit and in my opinion she was the downfall of this book and I just didn't see why Marco eventually fell for her, I just didn't feel they were right for each other and I just didn't feel like there was really any love. Lust maybe but not love and I found Marco and Christina to be a mismatched couple and I think that Christina was very bratty and immature for an 18 year or 19 old! I listened to the audiobook and the reader was very good but unfortunately the story wasn't and if you want to read or listen to a good Fabio book try Rogue and Viking!
Rating: Summary: She was 18 not 12 When They Became A Couple! Review: I must admit, this book could have been worse. While it did have a great number of problems, it was ok. The main problem was that this was like a book from the 80s without the rape. The entire thing was a cliche, a pirate who lost his entire family and wanted revenge. He saved a girl and put her on his island where she became extremely spoiled and bratty, and she wanted him. Of course, he can not marry her because he would have to give up his revenge and would never make her a good husband. Yada yada yada. Inevitably there is another pirate, jealous mistresses, and a suitor mixed in. Will our heroine be able to convince the hero to marry her? Will this occurence happen before horrible things happen to both her and him. This book was honestly written like an 80s book, but I think Fabio wanted so badly not to use plot elements such as rape that the situations became unrealistic. The girl was on a pirate ship where she is humiliated daily and all the pirates are able to ogle her, but none touch her because the captain wanted to seduce her? Right. Likely story. Not that this bothers me, the lack of unpleasant situations I mean, but it made the book seem silly. It was also without any humor, which is something I desire in my romance novels. And the amount purple prose was staggering. Ride my mast? Never heard that one before. However, one reason I liked this book was because of the plot of a pirate who takes a girl to his island hideaway to protect her and falls in love with her. Although the heroine was rather spoiled, she was a brat in a good way if that is possible. She was at least able to go after what she wanted, which made her admireable. The hero was of course devastatingly good looking, with a suspicious resemblance to Fabio, and there was a happy ending. What I suggest. Don't read this book unless you have nothing better to do. It was a nice try, but was not quite up to snuff.
