Rating: Summary: Surprisingly Entertaining Review: Wow...in reading other reviews here, I wonder if we all read the same book! I have never read Roberts before, since I don't read romance, but I was intrigued by a synopsis I happened upon, so I picked it up and read it. (I'll probably be criticized for that run-on sentence but oh, well). This is a very entertaining book even though I pretty much guessed the ending, too. But what a fun journey getting to the end! I loved all the nature walk talks and I really cared about those characters. I knew they would get together in the end but Ms. Roberts played with the plot very well and kept it quite interesting all the way through. Because of this book, I may give up my ban on romances and pick up another one or five of her books. Keep up the good work, Nora. This one was fun.

Rating: Summary: Entertaining Review: I do not expect every novel I read to be "The Great American Novel". Sometimes I just like being entertained; reading a story that keeps me turning pages to find out what will happen next. There is a time for deep philosophical discussion, and a time for entertainment. This novel was certainly entertaining, easy reading, with characters you could understand. I'm glad I read "Rivers End" and would recommend it to anyone that just wanted to read a "good book".
Rating: Summary: What happened to the old Nora? Review: Nora Roberts older books (Divine Evil, Genuine Lies, etc.)were excellent in all respects. Now it seems her books have become incredibly formulaic, and even boring at times. The incessant description of the forest in River's End began to really become monotonous, and the heroine was a cold fish who was very unlikable. And the ending - I won't give it away - but let's just say horrible things have happened to many people's lives at the end, but the overall attitude is that since the main characters are in love, who cares about anyone else? What happened to you, Nora? I miss your old style of writing!
Rating: Summary: HORRIBLE! Review: This book is horribly boring. Another cookie fresh out of the cutter here. This book is exactly like all of her others, but with new character names and new locations. The Nora Roberts formula of one part weak plot, mixed with a dose of hopeless characters, is accentuated in this malodorous book.
Rating: Summary: Utter drivel Review: The apparent popularity of this book (and its ilk) is the most serious comment on educational standards in this country since the Founding Fathers. Corney, badly written, with insipid, unbelievable characters and 6th grade writing, it almost beggars belief that any sensible adult could get through it. The person who gave me this has since admitted she was joking...
Rating: Summary: this is a great book Review: i had never read nothing by the author till this book and i loved it so sweet but yet sad also and so well put together and i cried along with the young girl .what else can i say but it was a great book i would tell all my friends about it .
Rating: Summary: I knew "whodunnit!" Review: I definitely would consider myself a Nora Roberts fan...have read most all of her books. I agree with those of you that found this book predictable and "didn't we already read this?!?!", yet I still enjoyed the writing. I was quite dissapointed that I figured out who the killer was so early...I felt like I read the rest of the book to validate my guess. Oh well, maybe I'll enjoy the next book more. I definitely won't give up on Nora Roberts. She's an easy, fun read.
Rating: Summary: Same old Same Old Review: You know, I really would like talk or write Nora Roberts and tell her that I really missed the way she used to write. I missed the character development that she had in Public Secrets, Sweet Revenge, or Genuine Lies. And I miss knowing that each book is going to be completely different. It seem like three years ago Nora and her published decided that either serial killers or murder was the way to go. So, River's End has a senseless killing like Sanctuary, Montana Sky, etc. and love scenes, but did I grow attached to the characters. No! There is nothing to hate about either the heroine or hero, but there is really nothing to admire about them either. I realize that after writing over 100 books it is hard for each one to be fresh. Sadly, after four or five books that just seemed a combination of her other works, and one dimensional characters, I am moving on to different authors. If Nora ever returns to stories like Genuine Lies, Sweet Revenge then I will be back buying her books. Save yourself some money, check this book out at the library or wait for the paperback. Or re-read one of her books that you already have. Nothing new in this one.
Rating: Summary: I want to read it again, already. Review: This was my first time reading a Nora Roberts book. I read a free excerpt provided by Diet Coke. I ordered the book before it was released and waited impatiently for 3 weeks. When I recieved the book, I thought, "Whew! When will I ever have the time to read this huge thing!" {420 pages is alot for me} It turned out that I made the time, I was hooked. I was not dissapointed. I feel that the book had great detail, dialoge, romance, humor, and suspense. All of which I appreciate in a good book. The sample from Diet Coke was bland compared to the real thing. And, yes, I plan to buy more of her books! Thank you, Nora Roberts for such a nice book!
