Summary: The Ultimate Bible Promise Book
Review: This book contains many of God's promises, from Genesis through Revelation, in order. Translations used are the KJV, NKVJ, NIV, the Amplified Bible, and The Message. The author also provides cross references and a "declaration of faith" after each promise. The declaration is based on and amplifies the scripture and is useful for meditation, prayer or proclaiming God's Word. I have two reasons for not giving this book five stars. First, since the promises are not grouped by topic, I think a topical chain reference system (similar to that used in the Scofield Reference Bible) would make the book even more useful. A reference to the next promise in that topic could be included after each text. There is a Topical Index at the back of the book but you need to keep flipping from the text to the index if you want to look at each promise in a given topic. Second, this hardcover book, though nicely bound, is relatively large. I really hope the publisher will consider putting out a leather bound version about the size of a trimline Bible. This would make it much easier to carry around in a briefcase, backpack or purse. But, these are minor issues. Anyone who wants to meditate on the Word of God day and night will enjoy and benefit from this book.
