Rating: Summary: Zechariah Sitchin anyone Review: Anyone who believes that Heron's book 'is the first in-depth book to throw light on the mysterious Nephilim and "to provide evidence of who built the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico and other great monuments of ancient history"' needs to open their eyes and break out their wallets and purchase (and read) Zechariah Sitchin's Earth Chronicles books. (i.e. The 12th Planet, etc) Erich von Daniken has done works regarding this as well. This is not a "new" idea. The Bible, Enuma Elish, and several other ancient writings actually do a fairly good job of explaining it too if you read them for what they are without trying to pass things off as being impossible because someone told you so.
Rating: Summary: Cubit Review: I believe the author is speaking of the "Royal" cubit. Apparently some people are unaware that there are two different cubits lengths.
Rating: Summary: Rewritten information from other works. Review: I found the book a rehash of aleady known information. There was nothing new for me. The book I found most interesting on the Nephilim is The Ark of Millions of Years. This one puts all the pieces in place.
Rating: Summary: made up math doesn't make it true Review: one of the biggest so-called claims of this book is that the side of the great pyramid, measured in cubits, is exactly as many cubits as there are days in the year--except to prove this, the author uses a "cubit" equal to 25.025 inches, whereas every other cubit is 18.24 inches. He also erroneously claims that, given the cubit measurement in the Bible, Goliath stood over 13 feet tall, whereas it is pretty much Christian dogma that he was about 9' 4" tall. Sorry Charlie
Rating: Summary: The First? Of What? Review: The author, Patrick Heron, claims on his website that his is the only first in-depth book to throw light on the mysterious Nephilim and "to provide evidence of who built the pyramids of Egypt and Mexico and other great monuments of ancient history."
He further seems to think that his is the first book to mention the fact that the Nephilim practiced genetic engineering. In fact, as far back as the late 1800s this was all written about in depth, particularly by G.H. Pember in his excellent book "Earth's Eariest Ages," which is available at amazon.com.
Pre-dating this book by some five years, another book goes more in-depth into the activities of the nephilim as regards their fascination and lust for human genetics, their genetic hybridization experiments and creations, and how this all relates to the present time and many of the mysteries which fascinate humanity today. This book also pre-dates Heron's book in terms of making the connection between the nephilim and the megalithic structures and advanced technologies of the distant past, and deals with many related mysteries.
It is called CAVERNS, CAULDRONS, AND CONCEALED CREATURES, and can be obtained from Hidden Mysteries at http://www.hiddenmysteries.com/caverns , from Adventures Unlimited Press at http://www.wexclub.com/aup/usaindex.html , and from many other sources.
I highly recommend it to the serious researcher into this subject.
Rating: Summary: Do some research before reviewing Review: The book is a good attempt at possibly explaining the mystery of the pyramids and, most importantly, makes the reader think in a direction other than what they may have been spoon fed from other mainstream sources. Theories are theories, but the Nephilim mentioned in the bible would have to have been giants for someone as small as David to have slung a rock UPWARD to hit Goliath in the head. Are there really any better explanations for the mathematical and astrological alignment of the pyramids? As for the math, there were many different measurements for the cubit. During the time of the pyramids' construction, the Assyrian cubit, which is around 635mm, or 25 inches, long may have been the standard unit of measurement. Using this same figure for the cubit, Goliath was said to be 6 cubits and a span in 1 Samuel 17. 6 times 25 inches equals 150 inches, which is 12.5 feet. Add in a span and that puts him right around 13 feet tall. I'd say the math, depending on the source, could easily fit Patrick's theories. Always pray before reading anything into the bible or anyone's interpretation. God will reveal to you what He wants you to see.
Rating: Summary: Good Read, See SecretAcademy.com for the glue... :-) Review: This is a good rehash/compilation with some fresh interpretations and some pre-existing ideas. The guy from Eugene (1-star review) seems to have his head screwed on pretty straight (based upon his other reviews)...but he hasn't done his homework on this one...The Cubit was found in several geodetically relevant sizes, not just one, and not just "Common" and "Royal" sizes.
To really tie the theories in this book to a fascinating reality, I recommend you read a great (although mathematically profound) book/thesis on the topic of "Ancient Metrology" (the study of antecedent systems of measure), titled "All Done With Mirrors" by John Neal (see SecretAcademy.com). Mr. Neal aptly provides the "glue" for so many of the ancient civilization theories out there (including the pyramid theories in this book). He shows, pretty conclusively, that the "foot" and the "Cubit" are intricately tied together via a Geodetic system of measure that spanned the globe (at some point in our past). He also shreds the metric system and its flawed logic pretty good too.
Anyway, while I don't agree with Mr. Heron on everything, he certainly brings to light a fresh perspective on the whole ancient civilization-biblical-legend-pyramids thing...
So, I recommend this book, as it is thought-provoking and acceptably down to earth. But again, check out John Neal's "All Done With Mirrors" as it anchors so many of Mr. Heron's (and others) theories to practical, realistic and compelling historical significance (read: Reality?)
Rating: Summary: Made Me Go Hmmmmmmmmm. Review: This is one of those books that made me go hmmmmmmmm. It really gave me something to think about. It one of the quickest fastest reads I have ever done. If your open to new thought / free thinking you will really like it.
Rating: Summary: Stunning Achievement Review: Truly an excellent book for those interested in the secrets of the pyramids. The author has solid research backing his positions which will definitely lead one to want to delve further into this issue. I find the authors discussion of the Nephilim to be extremely interesting. How this all relates to end time events is truly heartstopping. As a companion book reader's of this, will definitely want to pick up the end-time magnum opus **REVELATION UNSEALED*** listed here on Amazon as well. More books like these definitely need to flood the speculation book market..
Rating: Summary: Get's to the point, and it's a big one. Review: Years ago I read an editorial featuring the outlandish teachings of a Bible college professor who was attempting to answer questions his student's had raised about UFOs. They wanted to know what he thought the anomaly was, and if the Bible had anything to say about "them". Dr. I.D.E. Thomas began what he later told me "would be a couple of chapels on the issue," never knowing that his research would ultimately lead to months of lectures and finally his legendary treatise and groundbreaking book on the subject, "The Omega Conspiracy."
Years after his astounding book was first published, I had the privilege of getting to know Dr. Thomas through my fellow fiction writer and best selling author, Lynn Marzulli. I found myself intrigued by the professor's conclusions, especially those linking the giants of the Bible - also known as the Nephilim - with Unidentified Flying Object activity.
In those early days, Biblical Ufology came to be met with more scorners than believers. The "sons of God" of Gen. 6:4 were the offspring of Seth, we were told, not fallen angels, and especially not demons flying down in space ships to breed with antediluvian women who afterward gave birth to giants. As the successful pastor of a large church, I found myself wobbling on the fringe, wondering if it would be wise to challenge this status quo. Finally, setting my ego aside, I wrote my own best seller, "The Gods Who Walk Among Us," doing the Coast to Coast (Art Bell) thing and talking about the Christian viewpoint of little green men and other planets. Always at my side was the initial investigative theories of Dr. I.D.E. Thomas.
When the mid 90's rolled along, a lull seemed to be developing in the quest to deepen the church's insights into the question of UFOs and biblical history. The governing mouthpieces of Christendom had taken a look at Missler and Eastman's excellently written book on the subject - Alien Encounters - and for the most part rejected it as dribble.
Then, when all hope seemed lost, qualified thinkers began emerging from out of nowhere: David E. Flynn of the famous Watcher's Website, Dr. Michael Heiser with The Facade, and others came on the scene with fresh and meaningful proof that argued powerfully that indeed something... or someone... was at the UFO portal. UFOlogy was once again on the ecclesiastical doorstep, and this time it appeared the issue wouldn't be ignored.
Now, as if on cue, Patrick Heron has stuck his neck through the associated veil. His non-fiction entry, "The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse," is currently riding the wave of Amazon's top sellers.
"[Patrick's] book purports to explain the past existence of giant beings referred to in the Bible as the Nephilim," says World Net Daily. "Heron delves into the history of the pyramids....[and] goes to the questions of who built the structures, how they acquired such mathematical and astronomical knowledge, and what advanced technology was used in the construction."
The answer to "who built the Great Pyramid", says Heron, is the Nephilim.
Not since reading "Prophecy in Stone" some years ago - a small book by Dr. David Webber and N.W. Hutchings - have I felt that a book cuts to the chase and makes its argument so effectively as Heron's does. Whether you agree or disagree with his conclusions, you won't be confused or bored by the read, and in at least one part of the book you may find yourself startled by what the author suggests and how effectively he makes his case.
In correspondence with Patrick I found him to be intelligent and quick on his feet. I picked this up listening to him on the radio as well. This is not a man who takes his material lightly, and neither should you, for if his ideas about the Pyramid of the Apocalypse is correct, we all have a very big surprise coming, and soon.
One side note: I asked Patrick what he thought the prophet Isaiah meant when he said, "In that day shall there be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to the Lord. And it shall be for a sign and for a witness unto the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt:" (Is. 19:19-21a). I won't repeat what Patrick told me. You can find out by reading his book. But do YOU know what the "pillar" was that was standing on the old border dividing Lower and Upper Egypt in Isaiah's day, and why the prophet would point to it as a Last Days sign unto the Lord?
