I know from reading all the books wolf has written that you will grow when you study Spirit Medicine. You have to know and want to know your spirit to find your spirit. No witch craft her. It is clear and clean that Wolf Moondance works from her vision, which is Native American. I know cause I am Native-Blackfoot. Thanks Wolf Like the work. Ronda Hunting Bear- Montana.
Rating: Summary: The book and th e author changed my life! Review: I think as we humans look we are also full of fear. We always listen to each other and not the true spirit. I have learned from my full blood granny that we have to listen to our spirit and not people. As an author Wolf Moondance shows she listens to the spirit. We as humans want some one to show us the way and give us the answers. We have to be open to your spirit and hear the voice of our vision. In the spirit Medicine book I had to work to get passed my human ways but after reading one chapter I relized I had found a true teacher. I could not get away with my old ways but was open to the spirit. YOU will love it after you get to the real spirit self, Great Book...Grand Teacher!
Rating: Summary: Simply a great tool for LIFE! Review: I was severely disappointed by this book. I am very interested in Native American spirituality and have been since I was a little child. I recently was looking for new books to read and saw all the wonderful reviews of this author, Wolf Moondance, so I bought "Spirit Medicine". I was very excited when I first got the book because I saw that it had step-by-step lessons with tools you can make to help you connect with your spirit. I thought it would be a very enriching and inspiring experience following the lessons in this book. I was wrong. First of all, I found the book to be VERY confusing. The author uses many terms, but does not describe what they mean, so when she tells you write about something in your journal, you have no idea what you are supposed to write. I became very frustrated because I found the teachings and instructions for making the tools and performing the ceremonies very confusing. I don't think the author explains enough about what one should be looking for during one's visions and ceremonies. At one point, I found the author's website, and visited it thinking it would answer my questions and help relieve my confusion. But it only added to it. Her teachings about the Colors and the corresponding Medicine Words and Lessons that she had on her website were not the same as in her book. I saw many contradictions on the website. For instance, in the book "Spirit Medicine", one of the Medicine Words is Truth, and its corresponding Lesson is Sincerity. On her website, she lists Truth's lesson as "Serenity". All of these contradictions with the Words and Lessons confused me greatly. She teaches that there are 4 directions (East, South, West, and North) and that each direction covers an aspect of one's being. East=Spirit, South=Emotions, West=Body, North=Mind. Within each of these sections are 7 colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, burgundy) and 7 "Medicine Words" that correspond to each color. For instance, East's/Spirit's Medicine Words are: confidence (red), balance (orange), creativity (yellow), growth (green), truth (blue), wisdom (purple), impeccability (burgundy). So, altogether, because they are 4 directions, then there are 4 sets of 7 Medicine Words. But on her website, she has an additional set of 7 Words, and there is no description on where they come from or what they correspond to. So after visiting her website, I was even more confused. And I could not help thinking that she was just making up stuff as she goes. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many contradictions and things overlooked. Also, Wolf Moondance's books are mistakenly presented to be "Native American teachings". She has a lot of information and teachings on her website that seem more Wiccan than Native American. If you are a Neo-Pagan person who enjoys doing lots of ceremonies and buying and collecting all kinds of materials to make tons of tools that you don't even know what to do with or what their meaning or purpose is.....then you might just like this book. (Sorry for the bitterness, but I was so frustrated by this book.) I am familiar with many Pagan paths and traditions, and respect all of them, and I hold no prejudice to any path. I just feel that Wolf Moondance's path is very confusing and lacks any real meaning or knowledge, and is mistakenly presented as "Native American".
Rating: Summary: I like the look of the Book and love the teachings! Review: I will keep it sweet nd short-YOU WILL LOVE THE BOOK. There is a requirement-You have to have a open mind and understand Wolf Moondance is real. REAL spiritual and Creative. She has gifted us with words from her family, not a natin or a fad or an movememt, from her heart and from her vision! GOOD WORK. I love Wolf Medicine also! Carry Strong Heart
