Rating: Summary: Extremely Interesting, very good "flow" Review: I have read all of Brian's books, I have listened to most of his tapes, and attended several of his seminars here in Seattle. I got less out of this book than I have his other material. This book might be better for those who are getting their first look at Brian's message. Overall, I think Brian is the greatest self-helper in the game. I credit Brian for so many of my accomplishments and personal growth, however at $30.00 for the hardback, this book came up short for me.
Rating: Summary: The Alchemist meets Lawrence of Arabia Review: I just finished reading The Alchemist and saw Lawrence of Arabia some time before.
It is clear to me now where Brian got his literary inspiration.
This book can be summed up as The Alchemist meets Lawrence of Arabia. Probably that's how he pitched this book to his publisher.
There is nothing profound or original in this book.
Rating: Summary: The journey ends before success Review: I truly enjoyed the challenges in this books. As I read, I visualized applying them to life. I have always wanted my life to go at a faster pace and this book (plus others) confirmed for me "life is one oil barrel at a time" or translated into my life "my journey in life is one challenge, one joy, one success at a time". I have not read other books by Brian Tracy (I will in the future) I thank him for telling his challenges in life for others to learn. I always appreciate an author who is human and a good writer.
Rating: Summary: EXCELLENT! IN ALL ASPECTS Review: I truly enjoyed the challenges in this books. As I read, I visualized applying them to life. Rating: Summary: Solid Advice and an Interesting Travel Tale Review: In Success is A Journey, Brian Tracy describes his travels from Europe to Gibralter on the way to South Africa. He and his two young friends boldly act on goal of seeing Africa and making the trip from England to South Africa with little money and lots of ingenuity. After each of the steps in the journey, Tracy shares a lesson drawn from the experience. As it turns out, most of the book is spent on crossing the Sahara. Once the crossing is made, there are only two paragraphs written about the rest of the journey to South Africa. The last sections of the book nicely summarize seven life lessons and the book closes with a good glossary of famous quotations on achievement. There really is not much that is new or revolutionary in the advice given in this book. Nonetheless, the story is well told and there are worthwile lessons for success confronting the smaller Saharas of everyday living.

Rating: Summary: Entertaining and Informative Review: This audio presentation was very well done. It offers the listener both an entertaining story and a "best of Brian Tracy" all in one. Good gift idea for someone who you think may be interested in personal devlopment. The story and success key points are direct and fast paced- the listener never gets bogged down. Listening to the tape has helped me stay motivated in the midst of some very difficult business setbacks. Thank you Brian Tracy.
Rating: Summary: Overall - a motivating book Review: This book follows the actual journey of Waitley and his friends from Vancouver to the southern tip of Africa. Embarked on a wild ride, they face a host of challenges from money shortages to sunstrokes. From each of those experiences, Dennis Waitely lists a lesson learned and to be followed. I think, overall, the book does a good job of translating real-life experiences into words to be remembered. However, one really feels cheated at the end, when Waitley doesn't cover his entire journey till South Africa. Instead you are given just teasers of how the border force was after the group - but to take his word that they made it! For what IS in the book, I think it's a nice job. But I would have really liked to know about the rest of the journey. I'd be interested if the author delivers another book detailing the remaining portion of the trip.
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Review: This is one of Brian Tracy's best literary achievements! Based on his real life experiences, "Success is a Journey" is an often harrowing story of triumph over adversity on the road to goal achievement. As Brian says, you can have most anything you want in life if you focus on it as a goal and are willing to pay the price to get it. This book demonstrates vividly that most goals in life are attainable and if we deem them to be out of our reach, we are often engaging a condition of mindset, not based in reality. Once this simple fact is fully understood, you can rise to almost any challenge. This is a tremendously uplifiting piece of work that I would heartily recommend to anyone with a dream. Brian Tracy has certainly been a source of inspiration for me. Richard Baughman Author, "The Friendly Banker"
