Rating: Summary: The best yoga book EVER Review: I can't believe that I loaned this video and book and never got it back! It was wonderful and I would love to have the video again. Is there any way to get a copy of this video......hathayoga was made easy and I was getting results. It was inspirational to think that I too could look that good! I loved the relaxing aspect and peaceful images it portrayed.
Rating: Summary: I Wish I Could Locate This Book Again! Review: I first read Raquel Welch's Total Beauty and Fitness in the 6th grade...Since then I have been obsessed with Yoga. Welch is down to earth, informative, and stunning. Unfortunately, a few years ago my book was damaged. I will continue to look for the book, and in the meantime practice my Hatha Yoga daily.
Rating: Summary: Raquel: Total Body and Fitness Review: It breaks my heart that this video is no longer available... I first came across it in my local Hollywood Video store as a rental and have been looking for it again ever since! It's so hard to find a GOOD yoga tape that is neither too easy or too annoying-- and this one was truly a find! If it is ever released again, I may have to buy several copies-- just to be safe!
Rating: Summary: I Wish I Could Locate This Book Again! Review: Ms. Welch is so down-to-earth describing her struggles with fitness that once you get past her introduction, you're inspired to continue. The format of the yoga instruction is great for beginners and more advanced practitioners. This is the book that got me interested and keeps me interested in yoga because you can jump in at any level. Plus the glamourous photos don't intimidate...coupled with her honest text you're motivated to try it! It's a shame they don't have the video in print any more.
Rating: Summary: The Raquel Welch Total Beauty and Fitness Program Review: This book is one of the best fitness/yoga books I have ever read. Ms. Welch is very detailed with her explanations and this helps you a great deal when trying to do the postures by yourself. I have read this book over and over and still find something new. She put a great deal of thought and care into this book and I hope it's put back into print.
Rating: Summary: This Yoga book tops the list!! Review: This book tops the list of Yoga books. Although Ms. Welch demonstrates Bikram Choudry's techniques, she does it 10 times better than he does in his book. The photographs of her are beautiful and inspirational. She uses clear, distinct illustrations for the poses with explanations that are easy to understand. Her personal banter about her practice pre and post was very earthy and real. I recently moved and searched high and low for her book so that I could resume my practice which I had to let lapse for a while. I was so thrilled to find her book and will treasure it forever.
Rating: Summary: The best yoga book EVER Review: This was my first ever beauty/exercise book and I've been using it for 14 years. It's the best yoga manual I've ever come across - Ms Welch sets out the main exercise program (with suggestions on mini-routines if you're pressed for time) and goes through each pose thoroughly, devoting about 4 pages to each with photos covering each step, together with "trouble-shooting" tips and lots of encouragement along the way. It's comprehensive and helpful. I did a Bikram "hot" yoga class recently and knew all the poses already from having used this book. With this book, you get the routine without the dehydration! In addition to the yoga, there are also beauty and diet tips (the section on food combining's a bit out of date these days), with beautiful photos and friendly, conversational prose.
Rating: Summary: Definately a goddess! Review: When are the powers that be going to release this fitness program on DVD. Someone should take the initiative and do this. I'm sure it would sell better than anything else out there. I've done the yoga RW teaches in the past and it gave me a tiny waist and an hour glass figure. I want that back!!!
