Rating: Summary: This is the one for me Review: After reading the nasty reviews, I HAD to read this book! How can I possibly tell you what this book has meant to me. I went to the web site of the tradition that the author claims as his at http://www.tylwythteg.com hoping to find out about the author and was overwhealmed. It is just so big and there is so much to explore. But after reading his other two books, the Quest and looking at the Way, I had to find out more. I did. I found where I could purchase the third book, The Word (here at amazon.com) and actually spent five days non-stop reading it. It is an amazing book. It is about spirituality. It's not about history, or physics or sociology, or anthropology or any other science although it attempts to place a tidbit here and there. It is about the spirituality of Witchcraft. It does have a Welsh flavor. I like that, I live and work in Wales. It, and the other books have made me realize that I knew next to nothing about the country I am living in. I will be doing more research on the Welsh language and Welsh history soon. Good Book and Excellent Story.
Rating: Summary: have a look Review: Back in the late nineteen-eighties I took a series of classes -- basically a kind of catechism -- in Wiccan belief and practice from a group local to the Atlanta area known as Y Tylwyth Teg. It was run by a man who struck me as fitting the stereotype of the wannabe authoritarian -- the sex-starved egotistical [person] with delusions of godhood. His name was Bill Wheeler (a cohort of mine in the computing industry, actually), who styled himself "Rhuddlwm Gawr" for official Wiccan purposes. It didn't take long for me to decide the whole setup was a scam (at least on his part) for sex and money, and it went something like this:
Students taking the series of classes to find out what Wicca is about would pay something like ten dollars per class2 for a series of a dozen classes on various topics associated with the tradition. They were also required to purchase a short series of truly stultifying books -- and I do not exaggerate when I say they were absolutely dreadfully tediously bad, not interesting even as textbook examples of horrible prose -- detailing the ersatz Rhuddlwm Gawr's spiritual journeys on Earth and Earth's "astral plane".3

Rating: Summary: what really goes on Review: Check this out if you really want to know what goes on in YTT. William Wheeler, the charismatic leader, is unaware that he is under police supervision and that his website has been monitored for some months.http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2004330605,00.html 'Devil' pair facing jail FULL NEWS INDEX A COUPLE were found guilty of abusing two teenage virgins in Satanic rituals 20 years ago. Ex-Army chef David Stalford and wife Bette, 55, were warned they both face "lengthy" jail sentences. The pair, of Hollesley, Suffolk, performed depraved sex acts on the girls during "quasi-religious" candle-lit ceremonies. They were remanded in custody for sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court after being convicted of a total of 11 indecency charges.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Book!!! Best book on Welsh Traditional Magick and Review: I attended Rhuddlwm Gawrs classes in the 70s and early 80s. I found him to be a very honorable person as can be
proved by the Website that contains some of his teachings. I traveled to Wales and met some of his Dynion Mwyn
teachers. Later my spiritual path diverged and I ended up going more toward druidism. BUT I can say this about
his books with no reservation. He is honest, considerate and (too) trusting of a teacher. He may not care what
others say about him, but I say that all those who attack him and do not want you to read his books are false
prophets only concerned that people will call them liars if you read his books.
This book tells a wonderful story of initiation. It will change your life as it did mine. Yes I am a Fan. His books changed my life for the better. Thank you Rhuddlwm for your wonderful integrity and conscience.
Rating: Summary: Best thing I ever read Review: If you look at the previous bad reviews, you will see that the people in this "Trash Welsh Witchcraft club" can't spell, do not know their own history and about all they can do is speak a little Welsh. That's fine because we Welsh have a long history of not doing what some people want us to do.
But I was a little hesitant to write this review. I was afraid these Welsh terroristic reviewers may find out who I am. There have been rumours that other real Witches have been threatened by them. They certainly are uneducated aren't they?
But, I really wish more Welsh non-pagans and Welsh non-witches would read this book. It has a ton of information, yes, it is very advanced. There are no spells, so its not for someone who is looking for Witchcraft or paganism as a way to practice witchcraft and be different from their friends, but it is a look about the Mysteries of Welsh Witchcraft. It has history, and ethics and practices and beliefs, something everyone should know. Beginning Welsh Witches should read this book. I have never read a book yet that has absolutly everything - but this is close - and teaches about the Mysteries as a way to become spiritual. It is totally obvious the previous reviewers didn't even read the book, much less know what it contains. They are just silly.
I think everyone should read this book. I agree that the title The Word threw me off in buying it, only because I didn't want to look like I was trying to be one of the wanna be wiccans who are interested in it because its a book that stands out. But I am extremly glad that I did buy it. My copy will soon be doggeared and stained and dusty and look as well used and read and loved as any ritualistic book should. all I can say is buy it, read it, if you don't understand it the first time, read it again. If that still doesn't work, keep it, and read it after practicing longer, and after reading some of the easier to read books. But keep this book. :)

Rating: Summary: The Word of the Welsh Craft Review: Recently purchased The Word. I had read an on-line version and was pleasantly surprised to see that several sections were added. I Have heard the commotion concerning The Quest and the Way, and since I am a Dynion Mwyn initiate, I do feel somewhat qualified to review this book. The Word is not for the beginner. He would better served by buying a copy of The Quest by Rhuddlwm or the complete book of Witchcraft by Raymond Buckland. But it is an excellent depiction of the Welsh Witchcraft religion of Dynion Mwyn and Y Tylwyth Teg. It is a very good guidebook that can take the serious student to the equivalent level of a third degree elder of what ther americans call the Gardnerian tradition. Though the author, Rhuddlwm Gawr, was also a student of the late Taliesin enion Vawr, a well known Welsh Witch, who taught a large number of Witches in the UK (If they would admit it), the Word seeks to teach you the spiritual elements and religious philosophies common to ALL earth religions, whether Irish, Celtic, Saxon, Russian, Finnish, or what have you. Rhuddlwm Gawr is credited with taking the Welsh "old religion" to the U.S., and Welsh covens and solitary witches practicing the YTT version of the craft in the U.S. today have him to thank for getting it out of the closet. While Rhuddlwm Gawrs "Word" is a must-have for any serious Welsh Witch practitioner, it is also full of down-to-earth spiritual wisdom, which makes it a wonderful addition to the library of any broadminded seeker on the path toward the One. I was initiated by Taliesin's sister and high priestess at that time (1985) and learned more than I ever could by reading any of the current fluffy books by wiccan authors. I attended several of Taliesin's workshops and I thought they were brilliant. Please buy a copy today! Gwlad yr Hav rotir new i'r neb nvy keis Bricriu
Rating: Summary: Best of the Best Review: This will be short. I have now bought all of Mr Gawrs books and think he is one of the best writers of Pagan books around. I am really disappointed in the people who spread lies about him. I checked their slander and they lied. Why do they fear him so much. His books are great.

Rating: Summary: sbwriel llwyr Review: [...]
[...] He is hated by all who know him in Wales. He is a deranged megalomaniac who thinks he is God. He knows nothing about Wales - only what he has read in a dozen out-dated books. He makes up all sort of crap and changes history and quotations everywhere he wants. He is deceiving all his 'students'. He knows he lies, everyone in Wales can see through him straight away. The only people gullible enough to believe are those who live far away in the USA where they have no contact with the reality of Wales.
He is dangerous. He has been reported to the police for threats to a Welsh girl and her daughters - he threatened to 'visit' them and to publish compromising photos of her - you see if you go to Bill's place you generally have to sleep with him - an invented initiation rite which has zero to do with ancient Welsh religion. There are also claims of much more serious crimes concerning young ... women. What Bill does to his numerous enemies is bugger up their computers. He is a computers expert - well Bill - it seems that the law is now involved. How many more reviews are you going to write of your own books.
In jail - where you belong you'll have plenty of time to write more crap.
He has now been dumped by his wife who got fed up of all the lies and manipulation and blackmail.
What do you expect from someone who after two weeks on holiday in a horrible tourist town in Snowdonia thinks he is the great Druid Rhuddlwm Gawr - the greatest expert on Welsh literature ever (he can only read them in translation!!!!), he thinks he has secret information from ATlantis etc etc. Amazingly there are actually people who fall for this!!
