Summary: A Book of Life with Satisfying Answers About Death ...
Review: In some ways, this book is too good to be true: Despite its flirtations with paranormal phenomena, it emerges spiritually wondrous and thoroughly credible scientifically. Here is the background. In mid-fall 1987, John Jay Harper loses his best friend to a heart attack. He cannot make himself believe that his best friend and colleague for nearly two decades, George, is really dead. He begins speculating: what if his friend's soul is afoot, perhaps in another dimension where essence and energy never die? Is their a "fifth" dimension beyond the three of space and one of time? But he casts that off is merely wishful thinking; it is not logical, at least that is what he concluded initially. But then seven months later, George appears at the foot of Harper's bed in a luau shirt and a beachcomber's hat! Is it a trick of the mind? Is it a joke? Is it a message? Is it, perhaps, confirmation of man's immortality or an intimation thereof? Harper is not sure at first, other than he knows it was a genuine perception; it was not an hallucination brought on by alcohol, drugs, or illness. For more than a decade, Harper struggles with these questions of life-after-death, embarking on the toughest emotional and intellectual journey of his life, a trying spiritual quest of careful reflection and methodical research in "abnormal physics and paranormal psychology," as he says. This headstrong but heartfelt effort would plunge Harper into the depths of despair and then lift him up to the heights of ecstasy over and over again for years. From a reader's perspective, Harper's trials and tribulations, his pain and suffering, was well worth it all; it produced an inspired synthesis of great notions by great people of all ages: scientists, philosophers, and psychologists. In Tranceformers, Harper offers a new kind of comfort and reassurance far from the simplistic optimism of New Age authors with whom he could unfortunately be lumped. His knowledge comes from a deep sense of "knowing," and that becomes obvious in the opening pages; it rings true. His offering comes in an unorthodox package that commits the reader to a long, somewhat discursive exploration of physics and metaphysics. Heady stuff, indeed, but Harper never loses sight of his objective, never wanders too far from the catalyst for his brainwork: The essential understanding of the near-death experience as a shamanic initiation into the fifth dimension of cosmic consciousness. Throughout, Harper summons an astounding array of facts that lend credence to his seminal vision for mankind, and he brings the cherished writings of others to his side: Einstein, Rousseau, Newton, Jung, Freud, Krishnamurti, Tesla, Jesus. He also draws upon the rediscovered theories and beliefs of other long-gone but not forgotten civilizations such as the Mayans and Egyptians, and the schools of thought espoused by so-called Realists, and Transcendentalists, and Masons. In short, he has built on a solid academic foundation that spans many disciplines: anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, physics, psychology, biology, history, mathematics, and medicine to name but a few. Moreover, this is an easy-to-read, intelligent, honest, emotionally-freeing book not to be overlooked as Harper spews scientific theory and salutes spiritual teachings equally. He sees no contradiction between these two models of reality anymore. There is an irrepressible faith here in this book and a rare chance to find solace and peace in a time-of-trouble by reviewing the timeless truths gleaned from Harper's own communion with the "realm of the dead" and God. In summary, if you think, you are; and if you are, you will profit from thinking about Harper's illumination experience and the in-depth revelation of future world events he outlines clearly and forcefully. Harper views life as a master shaman should I imagine: He penetrates the dogma that can hold spiritual and scientific growth in check, looking towards the "end-time" shift of the ages where spirit and matter meet as two sides of the same coin of consciousness within the "zero-point field" of the fifth dimension.

Summary: From Trance to Transcendence
Review: John Harper's experience of a nocturnal visit by his recently deceased best friend plunged him into a ten year exploration of NDEs, OBEs, Altered States of Consciousness, psychic phenomena, theories of reincarnation, hyperdimensional physics, cosmology, the latest Unified Field theories, Superstrings, Zero Point Energy, the Holographic Universe, Quantum Coherent Consciousness and the relationship of all of this background information to the probability of Extraterrestrial Visitors and the reality of UFO phenomena. The marvelous result is a body of coherent conclusions reached after immersing his mind in the cutting edge theories and research studies by the top scientific thinkers on the planet.
I feel qualified to assess the quality of his research because after a personal OBE in 1973, during which the type of content associated with the prototypical Near Death Experience reshaped all my perspectives, I devoted thirty years to study of the same topics, authors and books listed in Harper's extensive bibliogrphy. My forthcoming book focuses on the geometric foundation of energy patterns and their relation the necessary structure of physical matter and to Cosmic Consciousness, so I fully appreciate Harper's excellent job of synthesizing massive amounts of data and making it compehensible to the general reader.
TRANCEFORMERS predicts a Revolution of Consciousness by all human beings as a consequence of a transformation of the energetic patterns of the Milky Way Galaxy, a transformation as profound as the one that fundamentalist religions refer to as the End Times. Dr. Harper is not a doomsayer in spite of his expectation of dramatic Earth Changes. Anyone striving to get prepared for the upheavals rushing toward us in the next decade will be a giant step ahead of his peers after reading how the Shamans of the 21st Century will lead humanity across uncharted territory.

Summary: Consisely explains so much about reality of the Universe
Review: So many answers, so well documented. Well worth your time to read.

Before reading the book, I asked the question: did you ever wonder how ETs can get from there to here instantaneously with their very physical (in our terms) bodies and craft?

Here is my take on the answer to this question. In the common, current understanding of the universe by our species, time and distance seem important. But, the reality of the universe is that there is no time. It is only an illusion, a convenient mechanism we have invented to justify our perception of reality. All of our universe exists in the now and exist as manifestations of consciousness.

When we look out from Earth into the Universe, we see past events of space-time, events that have happened, which have resulted in apparently what, where, why, and who we are. But, we never see the instantaneous now. The future only exists as multiple probabilities until a consensus of consciousness is reached on the next instant of now.

Perhaps multiverses exist to fulfill all probabilities, but you and I in this consensual manifestation can only experience one flow of now that we call our time. However, we all can have the ability to travel instantaneously, not just mentally, as many of us have from one point in the universe to another, but physically as well. All locations of space-time in the now are really at the same "place." It is only an illusion that we think we must travel to some distant location at some velocity that is less than the speed of light.

As such, UFOs and ETs and their interaction with us are absolutely centered in my view of reality. It will be great when we can, as they, go anywhere we wish just by "wishing." That time appears to be coming upon us, but we must prove ourselves first and overcome our ego-centric universal view that keeps getting us in trouble.

Read this book. John's writing reveals the same answer to my question and so much more.

Summary: A COMPLEX PUZZLE COMPLETED
Review: The crux of this book is that trance -- the method employed by shamans, mediums, and other mystics -- is the doorway to the fifth dimensional field of cosmic consciousness. He calls trance the "Rosetta stone" that unlocks the mysteries of existence.

Author Harper calls upon a wide variety to authors, including Alice Bailey, Jacob Boehme, Richard Bucke, Carlos Castaneda, Deepak Chopra, Larry Dossey, Albert Einstein, Stan Grof, Graham Hancock, Aldous Huxley, Carl Jung, Charles Lindbergh, John Mack, Raymond Moody, Michael Morse, Oliver Lodge, Kenneth Ring, Gary Schwartz, Ian Stevenson, Ken Wilber, and scores of others in piecing together the very complex puzzle of consciousness and the meaning of life. He adds in his own mysical experiences and observations. The picture that emerges will be an abstract one for most people, but there are many smaller images within the full picture that are easily discerned.

Dr. Harper concludes that the universe is a hologram -- one whole message. He sees our DNA molecule as the simplest form of a hologram. "Our DNA molecule serves as the monitor and the system clock of the cosmos tuned to the geomagnetic cycles of Gaia, our Sun, and Milky Way Galaxy," he explains. "This is what the shaman does in trance: taps into DNA transmissions."

Harper draws from quantum physics, anthropology, biology, the Bible, mythology, abnormal psychology, near-death experiences, astronomy, astrology, crop circle studies, alien abductions, Egyptology, Mayan Cosmology, seemingly every conceivable source that that lends itself to the mystery of consciousness and the meaning of life. It's an intriguing and fascinating read.

Summary: A tranceformational journey from the inside
Review: The cutting-edge of new paradigm thinking is constantly getting pushed back, at an ever faster pace. For some time now, we have needed an informed survey of the *new* cutting edge, and John Jay Harper offers this in Tranceformers. Not only that, however - with the voice of an old friend he also draws us into his own transformative journey and invites us along on a search for meaning, sorting through a proliferation of books, theories, visions, and otherworldly experiences. And in the process, through hell and high water, we can begin to get a glimpse of what's really going on. A welcome integrative sweep of many important topics!

Summary: Tranceformers
Review: This is an important book and I was glad that I read it. It isn't one of those books where the author tries to sell you a new theory at great length.
The subject of the book is the reality of the spiritual component of the universe and its relationship to the physical world.
Functionally, this book is a literature review of modern books and theories ranging from physics to freemasons.
I liked the way he provided his references right there in the text and also URLs where there is a website, and I liked the honest way he presents the information and explains his thoughts.

Summary: A Shaman wakes
Review: Transformers: Shamans of the 21st Century is a well named book. In it John J. Harper gives the reader an intimate view of his own transformation over many years. John's transformation was precipitated by an encounter with a deceased colleague which caused him to question his rational precepts and search for a broader explanation of life and death, and the nature of existence here on Earth. As an author, John approaches these "dangerous subjects" for any scientific researcher with courage and conviction. He synthesizes widely divergent phenomena into one cohesive model. We hear a lot about paradigm shift these days, well, John's book will give you one. Those cosmological ideas you may have had about "how things work" will find a connection in John's thoughts regardless of whether you're scientifically, or spiritually inclined. A key characteristic of a Shaman is to use trance states and the ordinary materials available to them to perform extraordinary tasks. John's use of his own trance states, scientific mind, and written word are an excellent example of this. The rapidly changing world we live in seems to portend the coming of many ancient prophecies in our time. John's book is a call to action and a helpful set of tools for awakening the 21st Century Shaman in all of us.
