Rating: Summary: Paulji Creates a Complex Spiritual Path Review: Actually, Paul Twitchell created a "spiritual path" that became a "religion" by the current leader of Eckankar, Harold Klemp. This book represents volume one of Eckankar's Holy Books. It is Eckankar's position that this book is merely truth such as it is, and that this truth is based on the spiritual maturity of the audience at the time the book was written. For the reader to discover higher truths the seeker is advised to read the book on the Astral plane (where other volumes are kept). There could be several versions of truth for any particular topic, which would fit the consciousness of the reader. The book is very interesting and has some very useful information. However, the reader must keep in mind that there is much dogma interwoven into this book. This book is more for members of Eckankar than for the general public, and parts of this book will seem complex and confusing for anyone except a very well grounded High Initiate.
Rating: Summary: GOLDEN REVELATIONS! Review: Has a messenger of God ever appeared to you, and shared knowledge of the universes of heaven existing beyond your present state of awareness? Scriptures, bibles, literature and sacred texts of world religions contain words of prophets, teachers and wise-men inspired by their spiritual encounters. Motivated by Divine Spirit, Angels, Masters, A Burning bush, a bright Light, a melliflous Sound, they tried to capture, record, and relate those rapturous moments to others. Author Paul Twitchell joins the ranks of those individual writing about their illuminating experiences for the good of all. He indicates that he received the golden revelations in this book from a guardian of sacred scriptures hidden in the spiritual worlds, and that there are more than twelve other volumes of scriptures in Temples of Golden Wisdom. This is a refreshingly different perspective on God, creation, levels of heaven, the sacred divinity of Soul, what life consists of and ways to live it,the pursuit of truth and God-realization. The cadence, rhythm and meter of the words may be soothing to some, and startling to others. This book, like most scriptures is best understood when read, a few pages at a time, and assimilated or critiqued in quiet sincere reflection. Then its beauty may strike a responsive chord in one's innermost beingness, that greater spiritual aspect in each of us; Soul. After reading the book, I want to see and study those other twelve volumes, and personally meet with those guardians of Golden Wisdom Temples directly, for myself. No intermediaries. Mr. Twitchell writes, "The Voice speaks to all who listen", and implys that enlightenment is possible for every Soul. Personal experience and knowledge of God is not a thing of the past; it is possible here and now. That viewpoint resonates within me as true spiritual freedom. If you find this book inspirational you may enjoy, "Shariyat Ki Sugmad, Book 2", "Stranger By The River", and "Flute of God" by the same author. "The Rosetta Stone of God" by James Davis, "The Art of Spiritual Dreaming" by Harold Klemp, and "In the Company of ECK Masters" by Phil Moritmitsu offer more spiritual options for today's fast paced and grueling challenges. A "Blue-print" for spiritual survival!
Rating: Summary: Shariyat - Ki - Sugmad Review: The book is poorly constructed and difficult to understand due to Twitchell's peculiar style. The poetic stanzas throughout are stale, rigid, and seem to have been thrown together like a patchwork quilt. The supposed ancient spiritual history through out the book reads like a 1920's science fantasy. I have discovered that portions of chapters four and five "appear" to be lifted right out of Robert Howards books of the 30's; especially when Twitchell discusses the "Polarian" and other "root races of mankind." I would say let the buyer beware.
Rating: Summary: A Holy Book for the Eckankar Religion/Cult of Klemp Review: This book has a lot of dogma concerning the "Mahanta" who is considered the highest consciousness on Earth. The Mahanta (Harold Klemp) is the Outer Master, the Inner Master, the Dream Master, the Word, the Lord of Hosts and is the right hand of the SUGMAD. The "Mahanta" is greater than the "God" of all religions and not just the prophets and saviors of these religions! The "God" of the religions of the world, according to the Shariyat, resides on the 2nd or 4th Plane and a High Initiate (H.I.) in Eckankar begins on the 5th Plane. The "Mahanta" resides on the 14th Plane (Plane = Heaven). Sugmad is greater than the Mahanta, however. Twitchell also created the linage of Eck (Eckankar) Masters in order to give validation to his own position. He mentions a number of these masters in this book. Eckankar was actually created by using the book "The Path of the Masters" by Julian P. Johnson and by using his former spiritual path of Radasoami Satsang which teaches the Audible Life Stream. Twitchell claims he was initiated by Rebazar Tarzs, but his former master was really Kirpal Singh who he refers to as Sudar Singh. Twitchell quit his former spiritual path around 1965, and no longer referred to Kirpal Singh in 1966. Twitchell mentions Sudar Singh and claims he was the Living Eck Master, but since Twitchell left Radasoami he was not initiated by Sudar (Kirpal). Therefore, Twitchell creates the Eck master Rebazar Tarzs in order to be initiated and to establish a lineage of masters to give validity to his incredible claims. Klemp has continued the tradition of deception to insure his power over his blind followers. Been there... done that... time to move on! Try reading "Confessions of a God Seeker" by Ford Johnson to get even a better perspective of this book and of the three Eckankar masters... Twitchell, Gross, and Klemp.
Rating: Summary: Blind leading the blind Review: This book should have been written in brail.
Klemps followers are obviously blind to the fact that he's a new-age fruit cake meets genius entrepreneur, who's making a crap load of money off poor spiritually starved and illiterate souls who buy his books and tapes.
Rating: Summary: The more you Understand, The more you Know Review: We can look outside ourselves all we want, but the Truth lays within. This book can take one to depths of Knowingness that can be quite astounding. As one reads this layers upon layers of wisdom will reveal itself. It is all about your relationship with God.
