Rating: Summary: The Novice Perspective Review: Exanding on the premise that the first two cards of the Celtic Cross spread give a concise summation of the entire spread, the authors have written a book simple enough for a beginner, but profound enough for a seasoned reader. They utilize card images from the Rider-Waite and the Robin Wood decks. Their comparisons of each of the cards alone is a great refresher course in card meanings. Also, the common symbolism in the two desks really solidifies potential interpretations. Written in a casual, fun to read style, I was caught up in this book immediately. A nice refresher and a must have for any reader looking for a quick snapshot of a reading in two-cards. If you do phone readings, group readings or just would like a solid beginning to any reading, the theories and interpretations in this book will be valuable to you
Rating: Summary: The Novice Perspective Review: I found "The Heart of the Tarot" one of the best I've read on the tarot. It was easy to read, very comprehensive and enlightening. It gave me a quick but indepth approach to working with the cards.
Rating: Summary: Refreshingly simple!!!! Review: I love this book. It is simple and gets to the heart of the matter in seconds. Great for innerwork. I highly recommend this book to anyone.
Rating: Summary: The heart of the matter.... Review: I love this book. The two card spread gives you the heart of the celtic cross. I will be using this spread as a daily read for myself and to help myself learn the cards more in depth. I like the way the descriptions were done in this book. Readers will find the descriptions filled with symbolism from the cards, which again is helpful because you begin to look more closely at your cards and pull that symbolism in for yourself. They use the Rider-Waite deck and the Robin Wood deck. Both beautiful decks.
Rating: Summary: Great Ideas, Narrow Focus Review: While I think that the philosophy and basis for this book is unfounded, it is unfortunate that the authors chose to focus only on two types of Tarot, the Rider-Waite and The Robin Wood. While these two decks are the most likely ones most people will own, they aren't the only ones - and it is unfortunate that the authors chose to focus only on THEIR imagery and THEIR symbols. If they had chosen to interpret the "heart cross" idea in a more universal context, this book would be a much better resource for all users of the Tarot.
