Summary: Its an experience
Review: As a member of the Soka Gakkai, I am well acquainted with members sharing their experiences with the practice and their lives. However Michael Lisagor's Romancing the Buddha is a bit over the top. To dedicate 140 pages to his life is only for his most strident fans.
If you are interested in Buddhism and remaking/changing/aligning your life, a better read would be The Buddha in Your Mirror: Practical Buddhism and the Search for Self by Woody Hochswender.

Summary: A fantastic piece

Summary: Buddhism for People Who Love a Good Story
Review: I'm not very good at explaining things to people, since I'm a writer. When an old friend from my high school days visited me recently, I thought she might have questions about my Buddhist practice, since I'm an SGI member and have an altar prominently displayed in my livingroom. I had left Mike Lisagor's book, Romancing the Buddha, on an end table in the livingroom after finishing it. While waiting for me to get up the last morning she was visiting, she picked up the book and began to read. I came downstairs to the sound of her happy chuckles, which opened up a dialogue between us. Mike tells a really good story and the philosopy of Nichiren Buddhism shines through his tales.

Summary: Refreshingly Honest and Encouraging
Review: If you are looking for a great gift for yourself, or someone else, I suggest the new book, "Romancing the Buddha - Applying Buddhism to Everyday Life", by Michael Lisagor. I just finished reading it and it was so refreshingly honest and encouraging. I am so glad that I read it.

Summary: Its an experience
Review: Romancing The Buddha: Applying Buddhism To Everyday Life is the published version of author Michael Lisagor's web site, www.romancingthebuddha.com, a resource which provides excellent insights into applying Nichiren Buddhism to the difficulties of daily life, including depression, spousal illness, the challenge of raising two daughters, and the quest for happiness. An absorbing and inspirational selection of vignettes touched with wisdom, Romancing The Buddhist is an impressive and welcome contribution to Buddhist Studies reading lists and is available in a hardcover
