Rating: Summary: one of the few good books on witchcraft Review: I bought this book some time ago and it is a very good book. The Frosts have written a book with substance. Unfortunately, this cannot be said of the majority of books on wicca. This book gets to the nitty gritty of witchcraft and does not pull punches. It tells things as they are. The authors show how to access cosmic power , how to work spells , astral travel and gain all the knowledge you wish from spiritual guides among other intresting topics. This is what wicca is all about. I cannot say this of other books on wicca. This book is one of the few classics in witchcraft. Excellent book.
Rating: Summary: No, It's Not Fluffy-Bunny-Craft Review: I purchased the book from the authors with my alowance when i was young and looking for my religion when i was younger. Not only did i find what i was searching for, but it helped me in finding my path in life. It is clear and concise for those who don't really know what magic is about. If it was still in print I would recommend it as a must have for any magical library for all beginners who are searching for where to begin.
Rating: Summary: A great source for beginners Review: I read this book for the first time when I was 13, almost 10 years ago. It really helped me in the beginning of my journey as an ocultist. Today, I am not friendly with the WICCA philosophy, but I have to make an exception on this book. It is a deep but steady school of magic (white magic), and it is also a great book for someone seriously interested in the matter, because it is like a manual, and the book itself is an encyclopedia in terms of the quantity of information on magic and rituals.I still love it today!
Rating: Summary: Not "Wiccan" at all Review: It uses the term "witchcraft" in the title because this is not a wiccan fluffy bunny BS book. This gets down to the nitty gritty and actually tell you how to DO stuff. Each section has it's own affirmation for that particular talent. Sections include astral projection, spirit guides, how to win someone over, and how to make your money grow. The Frost's are straight up and forward about everything. There are no disclaimers and no ethics crap. This stuff works!! Use at your own risk and be careful what you ask for.

Rating: Summary: No, It's Not Fluffy-Bunny-Craft Review: Most of the people who complain about this book and it's "updated" version seem to be bothered by the "ethics" or "morality" or lack of info on the religious aspects of Wicca. Well, simply put, this book is about the "Magic Power" of "Witchcraft" (gee, you would think more people would have caught on to that fact) and how to use Witchcraft to improve your life and obtain the things you want in this world. Of course there will always be those who believe that taking care of oneself (being "selfish") or using magic to get ahead in the world (as opposed to using it to try to end world hunger and war) is immoral, unethical, and just plain bad (I wonder if these folks are really closet Christians). In reality, this book just tells it like it is, plain, simple and to the point. It tells the student exactly what to do and how to do it to improve their lives and achieve success and happiness. If your interest is in developing and using such powers as astral travel, telepathy, recharging your cosmic energy, being able to consult the spirits of the deceased, and a great deal more besides, then this book is a must have. I've studied everything from the Magick of Aleister Crowley, to the Golden Dawn and Franz Bardon's Hermetics, all of these are excellent in their own way but the Frosts' Witchcraft has proven to be the most practical and useful of anything I've yet seen. This is a very good book and deserves serious consideration by all practitioners of the occult.
Rating: Summary: Don't be fooled Review: This book is the one that began my lifelong study of magick and my native Northern European religious and cultual heritage. I first read it 25 years ago and still re-read it from time to time to return myself to the essential attitude of a Witch. This book is worded in a bit of a corny fashion, but that was the style of the time for almost all books on occult subjects. It is simple and straight forward real Witchcraft, untainted with the New Age garbage that permeates most books on the Craft these days. Witchcraft was, and is, to the very few who actually practace it in its historic context, a CRAFT, not a religion. This book is the perfect first book on the Craft in a halfway proper context. The Frosts are true Masters of the traditions, as well as several non-European magickal practaces; they know their stuff. If you are tired of Light Weenie wannabe Witches who practace Hinduism with a pointed hat, this is a good start. I would reccomend this book above 99% of all the other beginner's books out there, and above most of the books on the Craft period.
Rating: Summary: I read this one a long time ago! Review: When I was twelve or so I bought this in a book store and started reading ( twenty years ago!) Since then I've come across dozens of Witchie books but I still remember this one because it was the first book that actually gave a bit of insight on witchcraft. It does sort of promote the whole Witch School thing, but witchcraft is supposed to be a mystery. So don't buy this expecting a bunch of recipes for spells, etc. This is just a basic "Are you really sure you want to follow this path?" book.
