Summary: Excellent Wicca 101...
Review: I had this book lying around for a few months before I finally read it. I have been practicing The Craft for almost three years and I just thought that this was a "beginners" book, but I read it anyway and I loved it. It's wonderfully written, and Michele also gives a lot of information on other authors and works to direct the beginner to further studies. I really enjoyed this book and finished it in about three days.

Blessed Be!

Summary: A Decent Beginner Book, Good for Novices
Review: I picked up "Simple Wicca" from the local bargain bin, and was imagining it to be a basic beginner's book for Wicca, and was not let down.

Morgan has a kind voice, and her prose is straightforward enough to be interesting and factual, without delving so far down into rote instruction as to be dry and without inspiration. Though some times her descriptions can get a little flighty and are over-exagerated to prove a point, they are effective for illustrating what Morgan means.

In subject, "Simple Wicca" covers the basics quite well. There's a crash course in various gods and goddesses, the sabbats, the lunar rites, and basic rituals of initiation and practice. There's also a good list of references, book and web, for more information on most of the topics that Morgan covers.

All in all, this is a decent book for beginners, but those with even a little experience in Wicca or Paganism will find this book fairly second nature. It might also be good for introducing the faith to someone who has a close person involved in Wicca.

Summary: Gotta Have It!!
Review: I picked up Ms. Morgan's book at the local Books-A-Million while out with a friend. I am just beginning the practice and wanted to study up on the religion. This book has started off my journey in Wicca very well and is perfect for beginners and those who have been practicing for years. Insightful and earthy, this book lays it all out and really does keep it simple. I highly recommend "Simple Wicca."

Summary: Wonderful introduction to Wicca
Review: If you're at all interested in practicing witchcraft, this book will definitely make you want to delve further, so buy it first! Michele Morgan's warm, witty book gives the curious a wonderful introduction to Wicca. She manages to share the essence and beauty of Wicca without weighing the subject down in too too many details or 'requirements.' Best of all, she writes in such a way that it will make you feel free to relax and practice in a way that suits you best. Another plus is the excellent 'Recommended Reading List.'

Summary: The title speaks for itself.
Review: Michele Morgan explains the practice of Wicca in simple terms and with a magical voice. Simple Wicca reads like an invitation to join in a joyful celebration rather than like a cookbook of spells. She walks her talk.

Summary: Simple Wicca
Review: Michele Morgan is a professional psychic, Tarot counselor, certified NLP practitioner, writer, and teacher. She is also a Wiccan. She expertly describes the practice of Wicca in her first book, Simple Wicca.

She explains that "Wicca, known also as Witchcraft or the Craft of the Wise, is a beautiful and sacred religion, centuries older than Judeo-Christian theosophy." It incorporates a reverence for Earth and all living creatures and includes "the worship of both the male and female aspects of Divinity."

Many people focus on the word witchcraft and have attributed negative connotations to Wicca. Morgan stresses that true Wicca has nothing to do with black magic or harming others. In fact, one of the basic tenets of Wicca is the philosophy of "harm none." Wiccans believe that everything they do comes back to them threefold, and therefore take care not to send out harmful thoughts, words, or actions.

While Wiccans can and do gather in groups to practice their religion, Morgan says "there are as many ways to be Wiccan as there are Wiccans; spiritual truths are the sole proprietorship of the individual." After delving into the history of Wicca traditions and describing the general practices, she explains how to create sacred spaces and develop personal rituals.

Part of this includes the use of "magic," which is simply the power given to objects by people to help them enhance their connection to their spiritual practices. This often involves the use of symbols, such as candles. She advises "with all things in the Craft, use your instincts and your imagination." Morgan also describes influences and energies, such as the phases of the moon, colors, days of the week, the four directions, and crystals, and tells how to utilize them in creating your own personal magic.

She defines a spell as "a prayer acted out," adding that "there is literally no end to the creative methods" used in creating spells. She provides detailed instructions for devising spells to fit individual needs. She then explains the various kinds of rituals, such as blessing, healing, or protection, and again gives detailed instructions for individual practices. As guidance, she includes examples of spells and rituals she's used.

Morgan says that "Wicca is not just a path to follow, it is a life to live, a life of awareness, hope, and love." Simple Wicca is an excellent resource for all those interested in an ancient wisdom that's become "the fastest growing spiritual practice" of modern times. Written in a straightforward and practical way, it will answer all the questions that beginners have and help them get started on their own paths as well as provide a useful reference for experienced practitioners.

Summary: An excellent, start-immediately, how-to book...
Review: This book and it's author are amazing. Michele says in her book that she's the kind of person that wants to get started on things immediately. This is why this book appealed to me so much. I had already read several books on this topic yet I wanted a guide to begin immediately. This book is concise yet provides excellent information on Wicca, how to cast the magick circle, altar tools, you name it. It is easy to read and imitates Michele's friendly, relaxed style. One of the most wondrous things is that I contacted Michelle via her web site and she responded that SAME DAY with words of encouragement, support and advice regarding my very first Imbolc and full moon ritual. I strongly recommend this book to any Wiccan beginner. Bright blessings to all! KaliRain

Summary: Fluff
Review: This is a decent book. The things she did cover, she coverd it in a way that is easy to understand. Considering how short this book is, she sumed it up pretty good but still lacking. I give it 3 1/2 STARS.
