Summary: There's a story in there... somewhere.
Review: After reading the reviews on Amazon.com, I had to read this book. It sounded like the best thing since Ishmael.

...

There IS a story in there, buried under a lot of really bad writing. The book was published via a "vanity press", and looks as if it never went through any editing process. The book is presented in a stream-of-dialog manner, which can work, but all the characters' voices sounds exactly the same, confusing the reader. Maddox apparently realized this, because he has the characters continually dropping each other's names into the dialog, apparently to clarify who's speaking, but in reality just making a muddle of the whole thing.

Some parts of the story were very good, particularly the even-handed way it dealt with the source of religion. But the pacing is awful, the grammar is awful, and the style is more what I'd expect from fan fiction than a published book.

I can only hope that the author gets some writing skills under his belt, and revisits the book, hopefully with an editor. There could be an interesting story there if he cuts a lot of the chatter in the dialog and cleans up the pacing.

Summary: Not for the closed minded
Review: Alot has been said about this book both positive and critical. I don't have plans for a huge review, but this book is very appropriate for our times. I see it as a very entertaining but also rewarding book. I lean towards being more positive in supporting SB 1 as it is a very well thought out book. Thought out as it is what most people want, entertainment but with what I consider an extreme and important theme. That theme is something like this, who we are, what we can be, how to get there, and what happens either way. I really liked this book and have not been able to put it out of my head, probably since I don't want to. I say yes, it comes highly recommended.

Summary: Enjoyable and informative to read SB 1 or God
Review: I was referred to this book by a friend, I was wondering why she wanted me to read this. I couldnt understand why until the last 50 or so pages. The book is a journey in time, which jumps back to the origins of our planet, emergence of humankind, through a few of Moses select writings from the old testament, and certain true historical frames and directions, relates that to current events very accurately. Then uses this cummulative information to predict our future. The story is told mostly in Dialog from two characters however there are several other personalities who seriously contribute.

I began to enjoy the book after the first 55 pages, the adventure takes off very well in the third chapter which bases our existence on a tremendous but completely invigorating premise. The book covers a great deal of time and ground, also had to have undergone considerable research and imaginative insight. Insight concerning our destiny, without a trace of unrealistic basis. As the story moves through a very acceptable future the theme begins to strike realization of what our descendants are going to be capable of, even thousands of years from now if we don't stop it all first. The conversation between the two persons traveling through time slowly but certainly will intrigue anyone interested in what our descendants would be capable of. But there is a secret that our children cannot hide even from...

I was slightly impressed with the readers ability to predict the current situation with Saddam Hussien, it's only a few pages, but the entire book is as such, it touches various events and moves these into a lane we all will have pass. It was almost erie though reading some of these outcroppings, but when Maddox relates to the terrorist attacks and a future of strict living in the USA, (Look at the publish date, 2000) when no form of strictness as such could have been plausible, I paid a little closer attention to his yet to unfold predictions. I am a realist, I don't believe someone can just predict without extensive information. But Maddox seems to challege this realism convincingly.

The last 50 pages took me by surprise, and almost thought it was a different author but as I continued I clearly appreciated Maddox's theme building. Right now I'd say that concerns for our destiny are in fact the number one priority. As a parent, I see how important it is to direct my children.

Im giving my copy to another person who I feel needs to read this. I was also very entertained by this novel, it is a 6 by 9 inch which also surprised me as it seemed more of a mass market paper back read. More of a story, but a right on target one.

Summary: Wishing I could give it zero stars
Review: If you are a fundamentalist or highly traditional not wishing advancement, this book will at least anger you, so read no further. If you are someone who is rationally open minded, and like a good laugh as well, this just maybe your ticket. I found this book to be more rewarding than any best seller. I am not from the USA and never heard of Karl Maddox, but I'm happy I read this paperback for many reasons. The first reason is this book has opened my mind to possibilities never thought before, and released me from being bonded to the artificial. From those possibilities alot can be achieved and self awareness is expanded. This is both a good book for the personal level, and for the population.

The book is written almost as a screen play, much dialog, well done and you do feel like a part of the adventure in 'Time'. The background information is adequate without all the typical non-essential garbage. It may seem there is a grammatical deficiency during the read, within that Maddox demonstrates the flaws in the way ancient scribes invented the non-essential, and how those mistakes became part of today's beliefs. Quite clever, but possibly will be missed by the naive reader. Mr. Maddox is well educated, and uses humor to bolster the intellect and theme throughout. The characters go on a venture in time, using this as a good tool for exploiting falsehoods from our past, and gives realistic direction for future thinking. I'm still quite amazed, Mr. Maddox had accurately predicted a number of events that would have seemed somewhat absurd 3 years ago. Predicted that the USA would go to war with Iraq and leave Saddam Hussien inept. This book was written in 1998 from what I could tell, why would the USA have gone to war a second time then, when they already did in 1991's Desert Storm? He also predicted the general current situation with terrorism and other specifics such as the USA involvement in Afghanistan. If you are a fundamentalist and wish to know more about Armageddon, I suggest you read the last chapter only. Mr. Maddox states Armageddon is inevitable if the fundamentalist insists, and ignores the current possiblities within. The rest of the book is most wholesome, and I would say brought a pleasing smile more than half the time.

The book is about what you personally and we as a whole can do to better our destiny, formed in the most unexpected but pleasing message. This is a fine book only for those who do have a true sense of realism.

Summary: Give this Peace a chance.
Review: Sb 1 or God is an unusual book, it doesn't fit normal genres, but those genres are proved to be artificial if this book is understood correctly. I read this some time ago, I was sure it to be a washout, but after seeing Maddox's predictions pass I'm left self admonished. I won't comment on Karl's writing style, I will just stay with the facts he conveyed.

Karl predicted that the USA would be shockingly attacked in a way similar to that of Peal Harbor by terrorists, and that they would blow up the buildings, claim it was not terrorism but divine direction. These persons being dilusional based on their religious belief and anti American sentiment. There would be a short period of bio terror, the anthrax mailings. The lifestyle in the USA would be forced into a strict set of guidelines especially travel. But that gets worse as terrorism will escalate to places such as restuarants. There will be a Christain Muslim religious war. A respiratory virus which Maddox predicted will bounce back after a short confinement and by 2010 will have killed 1.5 billion. Predicted that we would go to war in Afghanistan, and then go to War with Saddam Hussien, he only mentions we would in fact leave Saddam an inept person and Iraqs government also incapable of further terror support. Predicts we will also go into a much grander scale war in the same region. The war is explained in detail. There are other subtle predictions with some emphasis, such as the F 35 Joint Strike Fighter. This book was originally written in 1990 from it's txu copy right, the F 35 wasn't even thought of then, it was released for the first time to the public in 2002. Armageddon is thoroughly explained in the plains of Jezreel at Megiddo. The conflict is surprisingly realistic to include details of future weapons. These passages had me wanting to discard the book when I read it two years ago. It was almost like dime store material to me then, however I am quite impressed now, with Maddox. I agree he could edit the book some, but it becomes clear that is unimportant when realizing our direction. This book has a powerful and real message that cannot be brushed aside. This is straight up and entertaining message of peace with a mind impact solution. I wouldn't of even said this was a fair book two years ago, now I say it is a must read along the lines of our best peace makers and contributors.

The book is planned out in a dialog format with the characters traveling both back in time and into a could be future, but also regresses to a probable future from our current direction and other data. I read the book a second time as I recalled many of Maddox's comments being dispatched on CNN. I for one did enjoy the reading this time around. I still add, this is a very unusual but uniquely entertaining theme. For all ages as well, to sum it up, this is a valuable contribution, will leave you with reward.

Summary: Fascinating Subject, Horrible Prose
Review: Shortly after the WTC attacks, I saw a blurb in a newsgroup in which the poster mentioned nothing about the attacks surprised him after reading this book. I spent several months trying to hunt down a copy.

Karl Maddox needs an editor in the worst way. The prose is often difficult to follow, but I schlepped through it anyhow. I am glad I did, as I found the ideas intriguing, save for the ten gag-worthy pages praising the existence of Israel, which I found to be ironic given Israeli involvement in 9-11 and the idea put forth in the book that a fundamentalist religious group would be falsely blamed for the attacks. (The first arrests were of 5 dancing Israelis, high-fiving one another as they videotaped the collapse of the towers. These men, three of whom were Mossad agents, were found with phoney passports, a pile of cash, and a moving van that tested positive for explosives. However, given the Zionist influence in the US, very few Americans are aware of these arrests. The US quickly blamed Arab fundamentalists, despite FBI Director's Mueller's April 2002 comments to the press in which he said there was no paper trail nor evidence linking the alleged hijackers to the attacks. Do a Google search and see for yourself.)

What makes this book an important read is the author's uncanny description of the attacks and subsequent war against Afghanistan and Iraq. The book describes attacks against Tehran and Damascus which lead to nuclear annihilation. Given the push by Israel for the US to attack Iran and Syria, I believe this book should be manadatory rteading for anyonme who voices an opinion that the US should continue to bomb away the Middle East.

It's hard to believe this book was written more than a decade ago. It is the prescient nature that makes it an important read. Anyone suggesting that the US should attack Iran and Syria shoiuld read this book.

Summary: Awakened
Review: The best thing about this book is it's ability to prove itself right. I'm just amazed at the book though: I'm amazed at

1) How people can misread facts
2) How people can not bother to read what is written
3) How little people can learn from such a wise book
4) How Maddox put it all together to be able to predict so accurately
5) Why everyone needs to read this or similar cognition material.
6) Why there are so many little people, and why the giants excell both spiritually and worldly.

I've now read this book three times and would still admit to having fully grasped only half it's treasures. It is as many others have said, "a manual for the brain", PLUS an applied Entertaining story of and for our destiny. It's the book I always wanted to write (or read). I'm not going to summarize it's content here though, because it will spoil it. The theme is one of those so simple but enormous hidden truths which stagger the mind. That's about the highest praise I can think of giving a NON-Fiction book. I urge you to get it at the earliest opportunity, then read it, slowly and carefully...

Summary: Wishing I could give it zero stars
Review: This barely readable book is not worth my time. If a high school student had produced this work, I would have commended his or her creative thinking while insisting that the student develop some basic writing skills. I also would have suggested the student ask someone to proofread his or her work before turning it in. As for what to do with my copy of SB: 1 or God, I can't decide whether to give it away or throw it away.

Summary: Ranks very high
Review: To rate this book with stars is easy, as many as you can give it. The theme is however not the best I've ever read but ranks in the top ten books I have had the pleasure to read. SB: 1 or God has a unique trait, when you are reading it and when you get through it, there is reward. That also seems to be the concensus of the other reviewers.

This theme starts out completely in dialog through conversation between an American Naval fighter pilot and a personality I wont give away, (as the reader needs to pay close attention to who SB 1 really is in this theme, it may seem outwardly SB 1 is a manufacture of high tech, but far from it) the pilot ultimately looses it and decides to destroy Baghdad Iraq, Tehran Iran, and Damascus with his nuclear payload. The story quickly changes into a very entertaining time travel adventure journey beginning in 1990. The years past cover all recorded history, then based on that and current events, a very ,,,,,,,,(REAL), future. The protaganist (who is the pilot) is kidnapped by the "future", the reason I won't spoil, but if you like stories of destiny, adventure, and intelligent wishful peace sake writing, don't hesitate, it will leave a lasting impression. It has on me. And I'd like to add that is why I am writing this review, I have never written a review before, but this book is that intrigueing to me and obviously to many others.

I do believe this would make a good film, hope that passes.

One note of importance, the first two chapters build the theme, you may catch yourself waivering, don't, the book explodes in the last 150 pages, it is a very strong finisher, which tells me this author is for real. Also I noticed it is listed here as having 178 pages, 200 is correct.

All in all I will sum this up by saying SB: 1 or God is a book that will leave you invigorated, and satisfied for reasons we all need in this time.

Summary: I saw the Sign
Review: When I closed this book I sat for for a mental recess. KMM is an author who goes for the throat of truth, grabs it, but does not cut off the air supply, rather expands it to bring the brain overdue needed air and nutrient of awareness. Overdue since we humans are killing ourselves like never before on all fronts from sociality to Global warming, it's all in SB 1. SB 1 is about advancement and more. Take what truth we do know for certain and take it all the way. I saw this sign and it opened my eyes, I've left traditional thought dead behind me, we are all in need of this type of thinking. Others may say, without reading SB 1 that ""All that love and peace stuff was tried with no effect."" This book is nothing about love and peace, this book is frightfully exposing the human being like it is and the answers are right in each and everyone who has a rational mind.
I've read many books which cover "only part" of what I will label KMM Philosophy, as Maddox has a completely unheard of theory which could so easily be turned to fact if we only do what this book is titled, Selves Being ONE,,,,or GOD! From that premise the possibilities will throttle your mind when realizing the unlimited potential. The possible future achievments listed in this book will bring mental euporia to the hopeful.

Governments do it to us, Church does it to us, Girl and boy scouts do it to us, Television does it to us, this force which has never been used in the KMM way of philosophy,,,its time we the silent majority and minority understand how this incredible human drive so abused can be turned around for the betterment of us. KMM states it cannot be done in any other way than becoming aware, and that comes by education, in fact we are at war with ignorance, and there is nothing blessed about the ignorant, the ignorant are the enemy, a very harmful and potentially human exterminating danger. There is a time to love, a time to praise, and there is a time to kill.

Maddox predicted the war in Iraq, Correctly stated Saddam Hussien would be captured and rendered inept to be exact. Many events to follow, the EEC or Europe breaks itself off from the rest of the world (e.g Switzerland isolation for economic stability) to survive world economic failure,,,to be a new feared super power having lost faith in current allies. This leads to a horrific and descriptive Armageddon but preceded by much more to include a Russian attack on the middle east, Chinese takover of the entire Orient to include India through Iran. A complete destruction of the USA through several channels early on.

When reading this book be patient, the valley is up front, it is hard material, don't pay it to much attention, but get the picture as it is needed, the last few chapters are super. It is an adventure in time, a personality from the future kidnaps the protaganist and reveals all by time travel past and future, even tells him to write a book about it but take no money for it! That there will be many more after him to reveal even more and not be concerned if anone believes him. Sounds fickle yes, but read this, it is anything but fickle. The written design of this adventure entertained me and made this book a fun read, I was right in the story cuddled up with SB 1, which is more fun than destruction. The protaganist has to travel back to prehistoric man and live as a cave man without rational thought or language to understand the origin of religion, it's very convincing, but amusing. This big brain author leaves the Fundamentalist and destructive personality not in the dust, but rightfully and heart warmingly reproached with overwhelming reality.

I would also say be patient with the grammer, it's designed to have memory impact, such as a meme or a Biblical King James approach, at the end of the book, that is explained in an appendix. KMM states "So sorry for the grammer, but you remember SB 1 now, and that grammer you got from the last disappointment you read, well you can't tell me what it was about anyway, color is nothing without life, your color means nothing to anyone without life, and this is about life or death dontcha know? It is getting late."

The book has humor all through it. Remarkable.
