Summary: It will make you think and rethink
Review: This book is definitely NOT Wicca 101. This is not an outline of the basics of Wicca. This book does not contain cute little spells for changing your ex-boyfriend into a toad. It does not tell you that there is no light or dark, but both instead. This all being said, this book is not recommended by me as a first book to read on the subject, and especially not as the only book you read.

This book is, however, beautifully written. It explores many different things, the author's own views are always preceded by an 'opinion only' disclaimer and the facts are proven with information and a large supporing bibliography.

Unlike many books on Wicca, Mr. Drew follows a distinct pattern, going from one idea to the next, presenting both the standard ideas and his own. I did not always agree with Mr. Drew when he presented his ideas, and you won't either. However, being presented with the information, it will make you think 'Well if I don't believe this, what is it that I _do_ believe. Included also is a wealth of information on different dieties, as well as much on ancient Greek and Roman traditions (the pantheon of choice for the author).

I highly recommend this book for the well read Wiccan that wants to get many points of view and read from many authors. Mr. Drew brings some very unique points and also some very logical ones to the table, and I highly suggest giving them a try. After all, our religion IS in its infancy still and we are all still learning.
