Summary: Not another fluffy bunny beginner book ...
Review: Finally! An author who writes with an earthy appeal, and helps the reader during their journey of decision-making about the Craft by providing sound, time-tested information in an easy-to-read fashion.

This is _the_ book I recommend to most in response to questions about Witchcraft. It is more than a learning tool. It is reminiscent of having a good heart-to-heart discussion with a beloved, trusted friend about matters of great importance.

Summary: Gorgeous!
Review: First I would like to start off by saying, this book is incredible. It has very inlightening views, especially in the aspect of socitiy and being your true self, basicly life views. I found that fasinating, because i find few people even that relate on even some of my life views. Witchcraft included, i LOVE the method of centering/meditationg, i have read many many books on how to do it, and it just doesn't have the feel. It has a real, earthly feel to it, and its still high energy feeling.

The only thing I -dislike- is well, the author is not very kind. I went to her webpage to talk and ask questions based on witchcraft and magick, and well, i got kicked out of the fourm under the accusation of being some sort of evil person tring to get them to change their ways and tring to hrm, i guess "question" them(?) well she was VERY rude, and it sort of ruins the feeling of the book when you know the author is not very kind.

Either way, the book's information is invaluble to me, i would still recommend it to anyone, but i would recommend caution if decieding to communicate with the author.

Summary: Witchcraft Is Not Wicca
Review: Just like I thought, Witchcraft is not Wicca. They are two seperate things. Witchcraft is not a religion. Witchcraft is more menacing. A witch is not a Wiccan. In here you will find the beliefs and practices of witchcraft. I am not a Wiccan nor am I interested in it. This is similiar to an American author, Konstantinos. Right now I am looking for more quality books on witchcraft. So you know I am a Thelemite. Thelemite is based on the works and life of Aleister Crowley, a mocking form of Christianity. I am also a Golden Dawn magician. Why I was interested in the craft is because Thelemites and Golden Dawn magicians freely practice anything that is not black magic. This is an excellent, possibly definitive book on witchcraft.

Summary: BEAUTIFUL, RICH, DELICIOUS
Review: Like good poetry, this book is one to return to over and over again, as each reading yields more meaning not previously gleaned. It does not lay everything out in prosaic terms (as do most Wicca books nowadays), thus leaving the revelation of a lot of knowledge and wisdom up to the reader's psychic expansion. The book's ability to expand along with the reader's growth is a rare quality which so few writers (writing on the same general subject) are able to accomplish. This book calls to one who is drawn to the beauty of mystery. Definitely not for those drawn to the Craft by the gung-ho exhortations of teen wicca books, which for me do not accord the Craft with the proper dignity and degree of seriousness. And contrary to what an earlier review claims, the author does not contradict herself in providing for self-initiation while saying that Witchcraft is in the blood. As she said, one would KNOW('knowing' --- 'wise ones', right?). The self-initiation is a rite with certain consequences, not one of which is the 'creation' of a Witch. Rather, it is more in the concept of setting out on the path that is open to one by virtue of his/her being innately a Witch. I hope the author publishes a new book soon. Hers is a voice that is not carried by the breath of fresh morning air, but by the drafts occasionally echoing through deep, dark caves, issuing from an even deeper source.

Summary: BEAUTIFUL, RICH, DELICIOUS
Review: Obviously skilled in her practice, the author really gets her hands dirty with this book. The only problem I have with this book is that, well, I just didn't understand what she was talking about. I've read many books about general practice and little about theory and, as the name of the book suggests with the inclusion of the word "theory," I expected to learn something about the theory of "witchcraft." I just didn't. It seemed like she was trying to be abstract and mysterious while battling the need to be technical and explanatory. I felt, throughout the book, that she was being creatively fictional (and not the inspirational kind) rather than paying attention to the mission of the book. Teach the reader about theory in a way that invites the public rather than a way that nurtures a mere minority!

Summary: witchtwo
Review: This book did not go into the details of the topics that I purchased it for. I was disapointed because I did not learn about the things which I was searching to know. The book did cover some interesting topics and I did enjoy reading it, yet if
it had given more detailed information it would have been much better. It is a good read for a beginner who has not read much on the subject of witchcraft, but if you have read several books on the subject you will see very little that is new.

Summary: Not another fluffy bunny beginner book ...
Review: This book goes a bit deeper than a traditonal 101 book. Very interesting concepts and does not go over the same ground as others. It is an asset to have on my shelf.

Summary: Beautiful,honest & informative...
Review: This is a beautifully written book, full of rich poetry & a treasure trove of information that is useful for anyone intrested in the craft.
Ly has a wonderful gift for delivering information without any kind of sugar coating, egotism,or bull s**t that is so commonly found in witchcraft/wicca books these days! She gets right to the point with no beating about the bush...she writes more in the style of how books about witchcraft were written before it became "cool" , "trendy" or "fun for teens" & so on....
If you are a beginner reading this book,I would say most definitely go ahead, you will learn a lot about the beauty & simplicity of the craft...however,some of the spells may be too advanced for immediate practice (Ly talks about shapeshifting as if it were the easiest thing in the world!).....rather,learn what becomes clear to you on the first read, then continue your research however else you choose to & come back to the book whenever you feel drawn to it.(I find that happens a lot!) As you become more advanced in your skills, the spells will become easier to understand.
I highly recommend adding this wonderfully inspiring & empowering book to any collection,or indeed to begin your studies with what I believe to be one of the most straightforward & beautifully written books on witchcraft available today.

Summary: A worldwide view of Witchcraft
Review: Very good book. Easy to read and a wide scope. It is clear, objective a you learn what and how to do.
Mainly, Ly Bring the concept of hemisphere, it is, where you live in earth. Most of books ignore that there is people living
outside USA (rest of world, remember?) and in south hemisphere
therefore if you live in south hemisphere, read this book.
I suggest also to read "The Craft" from Dorothy Morrison, because
she explain some concepts which Ly wrote about, but, didn't
explain too much.
