Summary: Surreal
Review: I don't know what to think of those people who give this book high ratings. Clearly, there are deluded folks out there.

PS. This book doesn't deserve a rating, but Amazon makes it necessary so I have given it the one star.

Summary: An Excellent Book
Review: As a physician and a scientist (in Biology), I can affirm this book is an excellent work. One of the best things gleaned from reading this book is the explanation on how assumptions on your world view (old earth vs young earth) can change your interpretation of the data. Some have said that creation science is concocted. This could not be farther from the truth. There is more evidence for a young earth and scant if any evidence for an old earth with long geological ages. Modern dating techniques have too many assumptions built in to them to be definitive (like how much daughter element was there in the first place, and the closed-ness of the system which changes the dates shown). One of the best examples was a "modern" lava flow that dated billions of years old when it should date in the 100s of years.

I would like to hear an evolutionary geologist explain the Polonium 218 problem if the earth was not formed instantaneously.

What has happened at Mount St. Helen's is a testimony to what is written in this book showing processes that were formerly thought to take millions of years could actually occur in an afternoon (is it did during the explosion at Mt St. Helen's).

People who do not like this book I believe are afraid of trying to explain and confront the problems for evolutionist presented in the book.

Summary: An Excellent Scientific Book
Review: Based on his lifetime experience within the scientific community, John D. Morris has masterfully put together a wealth of information. This book cuts through the rhetoric used by the media to propagate evolution as fact. This book carefully discusses and analyzes the history of the earth. Each of the conclusions allow the reader plenty of information to follow up on, in case the reader is skeptical. This is a must have in your library. Because this information is formatted to address the average layperson, we should not deem it unworthy. John is the president of ICR (Institute for Creation Research), and his research and methodology is accurate and straightforward. I have read the other lower rated reviews on this book and find they are based on the philosophical beliefs of the individual and not on fact. If you take the time to look into some of John's conclusions you will find them to be not only accurate but unambiguous. I have read many books by John D. Morris and his father Henry Morris, and through careful analysis found no fault in any of their books.

Summary: My favorite!
Review: I started as a staunch believer in Thiestic Evolution. Tired of creatioinists, I started reasearching to shoot down their arguments. By the time I got to this book I had begun to doubt my belife in evolution. This sinched it.

If you are open minded, I see no way after reading this book how you can believe in evolution. I'm not saying after reading this you must believe in creation, but Mr. Morris provides example after example from many different fields of science to show why evolution simply cannot be true.

This is the one book I always have with me now when debating the Creation/Evolution issue.

Summary: No evidence for a young Earth?
Review: Morris has done an excellent job in this book presenting to the layperson how geology can be interpreted in the Biblical worldview. He first lays out the overwhelming Biblical case for a young Earth. Included are quotes from famous 'Bible-believing' old-earthers like Dr. Young and Dr. Pun who admit the most straight forward reading of Genesis reveals exactly what young Earth creationists teach(creation in 6 days about 6,000 years ago, global flood, specially created kinds, etc.). Only their failures to adequately interpret the evidence consistent with this forces them into an old Earth view. Morris does a great job of exposing the erroneous teachings of Hugh Ross as well. Though Ross won't admit the most straightforward reading of the Bible reveals what young earth creationists teach its clear he doesn't believe what the Bible says on origins. For instance Ross claims day 5 extended through day 2 to day 6 and that day 3 extended from day 2 to day 5 in an attempt to harmonize old earth geology with Genesis. Ross of course makes Genesis a plastic medium where it can be molded to fit anything.

So by understanding what the Bible says on origins we can then interpret the past with the correct worldview. Sure enough geology reveals what the Bible has said along. A global flood destroyed the Earth and resurfaced the planet and anyone who is ignorant of this will not interpet the evidence correctly. For instance polystrate fossils and fossil graveyards speak of a violent catalcysm that has never been seen before on Earth. Ross who claims no viable scientific evidence for a global exists willfully ignores these evidences fulfilling 2 Peter 3:5.

This book also contains many humorous images that can be used for transparencies. Some of these are down right hillarious. Like an evolutionary scientist sweeping under the rug of time all the problems with evolution and another one where an evolutionist worships at the church of Darwin reading from the Origin of Species. One problem I had with this book is a lack of an index. It could have really helped.

Summary: In total ignorance of science....
Review: Simply a very bad book. Poor science, poor research. Misleading quotes from real scientist. Dishonesty at its best. Just more of the same from creationist, who want you to believe their religion. Try reading what real scientist say, and see why evolution was accepted 130 years ago.

Summary: Morris exposes the Bogus dating methods
Review: Some thoughts for Philosophical/Biblical Consideration the Young Earth Is God also the Author of Millions of Years of Death, Bloodshed, Disease, Suffering, Mutations, and Extinction? In other words, is God going down the "Progressive Creation" highway of millions of years of time, leaving "Road-Kill" where ever He goes? Is God cruel, sadistic and extremely wasteful? Is that "Very" Good? Is that what the Bible clearly teaches? There are many who have rejected the Genesis record of Creation on what they believe are "scientific grounds." They believe that the current secular (naturalistic / humanistic) teachings of evolution and millions of years of earth history are accurate (e.g. Meredith Kline, Hugh Ross to name a few). Nonetheless, they have involved God in their particular versions of Creation, with "Theistic Evolution" and "Progressive Creation" being some of the more popular opinions circulating among churches today. Dr. Morris give well documented answers to the dating game so many have been lead to believe!

Summary: Lies, Lies, and then more Lies~!
Review: This book, along with all the authors other works, represent a sick and twisted manipulation of already manipulated people (followers of creation "science"). Morris and Gish KNOW they are wrong. As "researchers", there is no way they could actually believe what has been written here and elsewhere. Granted evolutionary science currently has many questions yet to be well explained, but these blatant lies and massive pitiful pseudo-science doesn't even come close to debunking ANY aspect of it. I love it for the comedic value, but it really does scare the heck outta me that so many under-educated people swallow this nonsense and feel better about themselves for it. What happened to thou shall not lie~!?
