Summary: Most Complete Book Ever Publlished
Review: Any truth-seeker desiring to create a more rewarding life by enhancing inner awareness, joy, beauty, and peace, while preparing the correct ingredients for realizing outer goals, must read "Confessions of a God Seeker: A Journey to Higher Consciousness," by Ford Johnson, acclaimed international speaker and author. The massive 556 page book no doubt is the most complete work ever published covering the entire gamut of spiritual laws, how to work with spirit for manifestation on the physical plane, and provides a road map to higher consciousness. In addition, this noteworthy book strips off the layers of myth and fraud relating to religion, scripture, and organizations like Eckankar. "Confessions" reveals the truth about why we find ourselves here on earth, the purpose of our life, the true nature of nature, and the vital, reconciling evidence linking certain centuries-old spiritual beliefs with recent discoveries of science. Today, we are experiencing an evolution of thought about the conception of God, the universe, and religion, which is rooted in fertile soil. "Confessions" provides the evidence and map supporting our migration to higher consciousness.

Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed Confessions.
Review: Confessions Of A God Seeker: A Journey To Higher Consciousness by educator and public lecturer Ford Johnson ably attempts to put together answers for the most profound and universal questions such as: Why are we here? Is there a spiritual purpose to life? The author's personal and diverse journeys in search of God have taken him from the Christian church, to studies in Transcendental Meditation, Rosicrucianism, Yoga, and more. Johnson's catalyzed search for reality and pursuit of truth are quite candidly and articulately recounted, and taken together, provide the reader with a strong look into the profound mysteries of the spirit and their impact on human life in the present. Confessions Of A God Seeker is especially recommended for students of Religion, Spirituality, and Metaphysics.

Summary: A Highly Revealing Book
Review: I had a chance to come across this book while looking online for "Passion of Christ" by Mel Gibson. I watched the movie, and it was an interesting story. However, I was, and still am, amazed by the information revealed in this book. I had the first reading of this book, over 500 pages, in a couple of days. It was really hot! The information was so intense that I am going over the second, more thoughtful reading.
In my humble opinion, this book, surprising little known so far, offers to everybody a new perspective for our relations with God. It is true that such a perspective is very challenging and it takes some time for people to fully understand it. How could it be different for a new groundbreaking theory. "Confessions..." is a must for everybody who perceives herself as a free-thinker and is searching her own soul. I highly recommend this book for reading by everybody with an interest on spiritual issues.

Summary: An Important Spiritual Discourse
Review: I had been hearing a lot about this book Confessions and decided to give it a read. I found it to be very interesting and full of very well researched information. It's a bit on the heavy side with reference to Eckankar, but I think I understand why. In order to state his case, Ford Johnson had to make the case as only a true Harvard man could. I found it all interesting, but a little heavy reading.

The part I really liked though was in Part IV where he talks about the new paradigm. I think he's right on the money with regards to understanding that we don't need a spiritual middle man to get us to God - teachers and guides are fine, but we need to take responsibility for our own spiritual journey.

I recommend this book. If you can get past the heavy midsection (which is quite interesting in some respects), Part IV is well worth the read.

Summary: The Truth Revealed
Review: If you can read this book from cover to cover, and still hold strong and true to your beliefs about the path of Eckankar, then you and this path deserve each other. But if you are a seeker of truth wherever truth may lead, then you must let this book set you free.

The revelations in "Confessions" are at once painful, enlightening, and spiritually freeing. After my initial shock and disbelief began to subside, I became caught-up in the shear logic of how it explained with such compelling research and spiritual insight, the myth of Eckankar and how it has enraptured and deceived its members for so long. Once beyond the looking glass, "Confessions" builds a bridge that helps the reader prepare for the next leg of his/her spiritual journey.

But probably the most important thing I came away with after reading this book was that simply...I am my own path to God; I don't need an intermediary, whether outward or inward, to get me there. In fact, I am God of itself, individuated but becoming fully aware.

I hope you gather up the courage to walk through this journey as I and many others have done. If you do, you will come out of the other end...more alive, more awake, and more ready for God's truth than you have ever been.

Summary: A mixture of pain, freedom, and gratitude
Review: There are few words that I can say to express my gratitude for Confessions of a God Seeker. It is at once heart renching, enlightening, and spiritually freeing. Heart renching because it showed me the stark reality of the deception found in Eckankar and other spiritual paths. Enlightening because it showed me new spiritual concepts that I had thought about but not considered in quite the way inwhich it was explained. Freeing because it finally allowed me to recognize my true divinity as a spark of God, and most importantly, that I don't need a "master" or "saviour" to get me there. I am divinity itself. How much more freeing can one get?

For the real and sincere truth seeker, I highly recommend this book. To those of you who claim to be truth seekers, but are afraid of what you might find, this book may not be for you.

Summary: Reveals the Cult of Eckankar and a New Spiritual Paradigm
Review: This book kept coming to my attention over, over and over. I would notice "Seeker" in the title and simply dismiss it. I initially felt repulsion everytime I saw the book cover because I didn't want read about a gluttony of spiritual experiences. Then one day I noted the authors name! I recognized the name and felt compelled to check out the book. I couldn't believe that he had written this book. I have great respect for him. After being to his presentations and talking with him just a few times. I'm sure he would not remember me. I knew this book had a profound and deep message based upon that association.

I found the book to be balanced and fair. Ford points out the positives and negatives and the result of self deception, regardless of it being a religion or within one personal life because in reality they reflect each other. Ultimately, that deception has to be acknowledged, even after 30 some years. I did not take this book as a way to vent anger or to get even. I did not take this book as an intellectual excercise. People who pointed this out have missed the whole point. The book has a strong message in dealing with self deception. You can never move forward in life unless you deal with the anger, emotion, sadness and possibly guilt for perpetuating a self deception.

People who remain loyal to an ideal and continue to seek that ideal remain in bondage. Forde has written about a powerful and insightful way to gain spiritual freedom from that bondage.

I've spent many years reading about various spiritual teachings. This book in my view surpases many, if not most and is well worth the read. It is a breath of fresh air! It provides an understanding in how to become free and to experience spiritual freedom, peace and love.

Well Done!!
