Rating: Summary: too many rumors Review: First of all, this looks like a big thick book, but when you open the cover, you will find out that fonts are unusually big. That is a first suggestion that this book can not be taken seriously. Anyway, this book has too many rumors. And many of its stories can't be analyzed deeply. For example, it has a story that the author and a bunch of others went to visit the pyramid. And he wrote that he instantly felt an awesome feeling when he gets the chance to lie in the king's coffin right inside the pyramid. I don't think that it is possible even though I have never visited there. For one thing, most ancient sites are well protected. It is a king's coffin; a visitor probably can't even touch it, not to mention to lie inside. Then the author wrote that one of their travel mates disappeared when they were visited the pyramid, and that must be due to the super nature power of the pyramid. So he and others just went to their hotel without doing anything, such as reporting to the police, or look for her. That is just so unbelievable. A travel companion has disappeared, they did not bother to report to the police, or start looking for her. Then it seems even the authors' wives have some kind of super nature encounters before. And one of the authors had so many super nature experiences that his name was mentioned in almost most of the stories. In conclusion, you can read this book for fun, but you can't take it for seriously.
Rating: Summary: Great Read Review: I love listening to Coast to Coast. I know people who do not want to open their mind will not enjoy this book. With some other reviewers make it sound that everything Art rights he says is the truth. This is a farse. Art just puts down many view points of people that has been on his show. You have to take everything with a grain of salt, I think its just a fun read. I don't beleive everything I read in any book, but if you are looking for one that is just fun then pick this one up. If you are going to take all of it serious then you are a nut, but if you don't open your mind and ponder it then then don't waste your time.
Rating: Summary: Highly recommended! Review: If you're interested in UFOs, ghosts, near-death experiences, OBEs, angels, demons, mind travel through time and space and other paranormal phenomena, then this book is an absolute must for your personal library. Art Bell and Brad Steiger are the perfect guides for this "journey through the unexplained," discussing everything from the nature of time to the Supreme Creator, the "Source of all that is" that governs the universe. If you're a skeptic, the compelling accounts within the covers of this book may cause you to rethink your views. If you're a believer, this book will reinforce your knowledge that your life on this planet is but a small part of an ongoing adventure.
Rating: Summary: A Plethora of Truth!!!! Review: In this book, Art Bell and Brad Steiger cover everything from origins of the human species to crop circles to Area 51 to UFO abductions to government coverups and conspiracies to religion. This is a historic look at unexplained phenomena in the universe. Both authors have covered matters regarding the unusual, the weird, and the unknown for years. Here, together, they explore each of these subjects thoroughly, leaving the reader with the facts needed to come to an educated conclusion as to the source of it all. This book has never been proclaimed to be one of Art Bell's "better works"; it pales in comparison to The Coming Global Superstorm and The Quickening as far as sales and popularity. But, it is my particular favorite of all his books because it covers such a wide range and varietal array of topics.

Rating: Summary: Fun journey Review: The Source is a good introduction to the unexplained. It might not be extremely helpful to the veteran UFO buff, but it's still a fun book to read anyway. It covers a wide range of topics such as: UFO's, ghosts, Alternative 3, Indian prophecies, ancient astronauts, lost civilizations, crop circles, and much more. Also, the bibliography has some interesting references as well.
Rating: Summary: Great introduction to the "unexplained" Review: The Source presents the reader with a vast range of theories concerning the origins of life, life after death, aliens, ancient history, Roswell, crop circles, ghosts, and much more. This book is the definitive introduction to what most book stores label "new age"- weird stuff that doesn't fit nicely anywhere else... this book just about covers it all too. If you want to further explore what's mentioned in the book just refer to the bibliography, there you can find certain specific stuff about each topic. Good book Art.
Rating: Summary: Paranormal 101 Review: There isn't much hard evidence in The Source. You should probably look somewhere else if you want to learn anything.
Rating: Summary: Lots of Ideas Review: This book covers a lot of ground including the mysteries of human origins. Was man actually around with the dinosours? If not, why are their paintings of such found in caves? Could earth actually be a giant prison colony? Were humans genetically engineered as a "worker" race for extra terrestrials? Has there actually been more than one species of human beings on earth? Although this book offers a lot of ideas that should warrant thought it offers little proof behind them. But ideas should always be considered. Most statements that are offered as fact can not be followed up and verified easily. The authors offer no dates, towns, or books of reference on many of the things they present. But again, give them fair contemplation. What of the Apkallu? or Oannes? Teachers of the ancient mesopotamian civilization, who were they, where did they come from? Were there prehistoric nuclear blasts? Some evidence is offered, or deduced is a better word. Were Eisenhour & Churchill worried about an alien invasion of earth? Are alien races at conflict over the control of the future of earth? Are aliens demonic in nature? Will calling for the help of Jesus thwart an alien abduction? Are we experiencing the battle of good and evil? Demons and angels battling for our soul? The list of ideas in this book range far and wide. Could alien sightings be caused by electromagnetic field variations and their perceptions by the temporal lobes of the human brain? Are their alien bases on the moon? How do some major religions compare in their beliefs of the end times? See many, many faulty predictions. And the age old question of what is time? This book is very interesting but I don't feel really "teaches" you much. But it is thought provoking and it does force you to "think". It encourages you to contemplate the possibilities of what is being presented. You should read this book among many other books on the subject/subjects presented. This book can be a good starting place for many paranormal thoughts and ideas of the unexplained that we face today. The more we know, the less we understand. This book address's what we think we may know and what we probably don't understand.
Rating: Summary: Charming Fun Gone Wild Review: We all, I hope, know that radio talk is a medium for any host to broadcast to like thinkers , with no need for evidence. I listened to a few Art Bell radio shows, and read his book, "The Source", and found both to be kind of interesting. But...if one publishes a book that purports to challenge established ancient history, archaeology, evolution, etc., it is too much to expect one footnote? Bell and his buddy Brad do include a list of books by other "explorers", and an index that amounts to name-dropping. But really, this is a lightweight book of no substance, which features notions of Nazi moon colonies, pre-historic nuclear war, competing theories of extraterrestrial farming of human life, various theories about ghosts, demons, angels, the nature of time, etc., with no evidence whatsoever, and no room for doubters. I had no trouble finding evidence against some of this stuff by using the internet for a few minutes. Maybe that means there is a conspiracy, and I am a dupe of government/alien entities which are controlling my brain. Really, this book would support such a theory. Sadly, I must say that the only people who could benefit from this book are readers of National Enquirer who are tackling their first paperback. I read the whole thing, and I feel the need to take a shower. But maybe that's just my guardian angel, or "gray" alien overseer, telling me that this book smells weird.
