Rating: Summary: sad reality Review: This book is well-written, and the author should be well praised for his skill in his art. On the other hand, understanding that this book is a matter of non-fiction, it can be understood that this book is exposing a horrific deception to the entire world. If you are a sci-fi or horror fan searching for a titilating read that will stimulate your interest, look no further. But be advised that the information that the author presents is non-fiction and is absolutely occultic. I highly suggest researching and understanding the true nature of the content of this book before indulging in it, if at all. It is apparent from Biblical text, specifically Genesis 6, that this phenomenon has been around since the beginning of time (Sons of God, Nephilim); this was Satan's original plan to corrupt the lines of Adam. I highly discourage any Christian or aspiring Christian from indulging in this material. To those who wish to partake of this material, be strongly advised that you are staring into darkness and the worst kind of evil.
Rating: Summary: A great sci-fi horror by a fiction writer! Review: Wake up and smell the surgical fluid people! Whitley Strieber was, and still is, a fiction writer. He writes fiction! This is just his "Blair Witch Project" or "Fargo". To be honest the whole alien abduction thing is probably best looked at from John Mack's observations as a psychiatrist who has worked with these people. The other guy Budd Hopkins is just plain dangerous and is suggesting things to people during his therapy sessions.Strieber has done brilliantly with this book but unfortunately he went the extra mile and did not say that is was a load of bunk after the release. He did however reverse his whole position on it one time... **** from "The Communion Letter" Whitley Strieber's cover letter from the Spring Issue, 1991; Volume 3, No. 1. Dear Reader: I would like to thank you for your patronage of the Communion Letter. Your subscription ends with this issue, and we are not taking new subscriptions or renewals. A list of available back issues is printed on the reverse of this letter for those who may be interested in collecting. I had always intended to run the newsletter about two years, and that amount of time has now passed. During this period the Communion Letter has gained a large circulation and, I believe, published some remarkable articles. But all good things must come to an end. I am not a UFO researcher and do not wish to endure the continued media attack that is associated with being involved in this field. In addition, the so-called "UFO-ologists" are probably the cruellest, nastiest and craziest people I have ever encountered. Their interpretation of the visitor experience is rubbish from beginning to end. The "abduction reports" that they generate are not real. They are artifacts of hypnosis and cultural conditioning. What we are experiencing is a perceptual anomaly that is sufficiently ambiguous and intense that it demands explanation. It is something that human beings have been experiencing for a long time. It is the cause of religion, of mythology, of folklore. Presently it is the cause of the "alien abduction" belief. What is *really* behind our experiences? We are. This is a human thing. However, I would also say that it indicates that we--and our world--are vastly different, and far more strange, than we have ever dreamed, or dared imagine. With that I leave you. **** Just get the book and enjoy it for what it is - "Blair Witch" material. It is a way out there and certainly is frightening at the best of times. The whole "could it be real" element though has well passed its sell by date. Even after his own admission we still believe! The strength is in this guys ability to spin a great yarn! Great 20th century fiction literature!
