Rating: Summary: Soul's Perfection 2 Review: I have believed in God most of my life and did find the dark side to what Sylvia talks about. This book talks truth, given me answers to what I have been seeking through the soul and mind as I use to question myself about life. I use to wonder why I was so different in certain circumstances that I experienced. I am not saying I am psychic but am saying that certain intuitions and experiences have been a big question mark to me most of my life. Ignoring to try and find the answers I had gone astray and noticed my life changed when I did fall a stray from the church and from God. Sylvia has uplifted my soul and belief for God once again and this book as answered alot to what I wanted to know and have experienced. Sometimes some books just are not for every individual out there, sometimes it takes more work then others to understand where this may be going. In my opinion I feel Sylvia is doing a fine job in her books. I am feeling refreshed and also feeling the need to keep learning more as I keep awaiting for more to come out. I do have a concern, I was wondering the samething as others may be, why is it so much for a psychic reading? I could not afford that but someday hope to be able to meet Sylvia and have a reading when I do have money. I am young and starting out.
Rating: Summary: The last chapter sums up the book Review: If you only read one part of this book it should be the last chapter entitled "Tenets For Living." It sums up the entire book and philosophy of Browne's Novus Spiritus. While reading the last chapter I could not help but think of Conversations with God by Neale Donald Walsch. In the end, she reaffirms that we are here to experience ourselves for God, we are loved and we are loving so let's make it a better place for all. I found the chapters on Synergism and Tenets For Living to be very informative and thought provoking. Much of the book is repetitive and can be found in many of Sylvia Browne's other works. Her chapter "Life Themes" is literally taken from her book The Other Side and Back. I enjoyed this book better than the first one in the Journey of the Soul series. Whenever I read her books I have to be in the right frame of mind. These are not the kind of books one can pick up on a whim. It is best to go into it with a clean slate. Some of it seems really out in left field and then on the next page it is on the mark. And now with the third one out I will have to give it a try. But not right away.
Rating: Summary: Interesting and Thought-Provoking Presentation Review: In Soul's Perfection, Sylvia Browne discusses the meaning of life. Sylvia and her guides help bring about both an intellectual and a spiritual fulfillment for the reader through a discussion of our soul's journey from the Other Side to making a meaningful life here on Earth while retaining the traditional view of an Almighty God. An interesting read. Evelyn Horan - teacher/counselor/author Jeannie, A Texas Frontier Girl, Books One - Three
Rating: Summary: Much of the same from Sylvia Review: In Sylvia's second book of her trilogy she covers such topics as the meaning of life, Karma, and Life Themes. If you have read her other books you may find some of this book redundant, especially her section on Life Themes. On a whole I would say this book is less esoteric than book one of this series. Even one who doubts her credibility as a psychic can learn some things about living a healthy life. Many people ascribe to the belief that they can't make anyone else happy if they themselves are not happy. Syliva points out that the way to becoming happy is to first make other happy by helping out where you can. As she says, "A day without doing something for someone else is a day lost!" She also touches on the theme of synergism in which she discuses the power of positive thinking. Along with these things Sylivia makes for interesting discusions of her own experience as a psychic and tries to make them useful to the reader. Many of these things are touched upon by her spirit guides Francene and Raheim. Finally I will repeat what Sylvia states, which is that everyone must take what they need or what they find is true for them. If you are a fan of hers you may find this book overly redundant. However, new readers may find this to be a good introduction to her philosophy.
Rating: Summary: True, But Way Too Subjective Review: Most of the writing in this book is by Sylvia's spirit guide francine. The problem is, Francine is not fully humanized so she doesn't know how to exactly relate to us in her words. Therefore her words are subjective and difficult to understand, although truthful. However, Sylvia's work in this book is very easy to understand and detailed. When reading this book, you have to acknowledge that Francine does not have full recollection of being in a physical body despite her trances with Sylvia. She says she does, but she doesn't know, who could blame her. However, she is very wise and her words are very helpful if you know what's she talking about. In some ways though, her words can be very unhelpful because they're so subjective that they are easily confusable. Therefore I give this book 3 stars. My email: ghostdman@yahoo.com.
Rating: Summary: Exanding a new vision through the facinating Sylvia Browne. Review: Soul's Perfection - Journey f the Soul Series, Book 2I have read all of Sylvia's recent books and this one to be largely in keeping with her other's, with a concentration on how to cope in this "incarnation on earth", Karma and Synergism. There is discussion about Life Themes and both Life Themes and the Tenets for Living are restated and defined (from another of her publications). We again hear from Francine and Raheim, Sylvia's Spirit Guides. The thoughts in this book are not as well organized or presented as her in other books. Francine starts out with very few preliminaries from her or Sylvia, this would make it a difficult beginner book for someone who has not read others. Francine does not "sound" like the Francine in other publications. If you feel you have had a sense of how she speaks from past books, she speaks very differently, as a matter of fact Francine, Sylvia and Raheim all "sound" quite the same. There are quite a few meditational exercises which are nice and some repetition from her other books which reinforce and expand what you are learning from Sylvia, whether you accept her philosophy or not. I have found there to be great inconsistency within and between each of Sylvia's books, "Soul's Perfection" appears to be consistent within itself. If you are seriously intrigued by the philosophy of: "Gnostic Christianity", a contradictory name; the Society of Novus Spiritus; or a presentation on what "heaven" is or might be like, this will continue your journey. I have found these books to be fascinating and it has caused me to think very hard about my learned belief system. I look forward to the next book, they seem to be coming very fast which my be the reason for the lack of organization of this book.
Rating: Summary: Soul's Perfection Review: Sylvia Browne takes you on a journey of un-imaginable proportions that can only be told through a psychic's eyes. When you read this book be prepared to go on a roller coaster ride of emotions as Sylvia speaks of the Other Side, or as most of us call it Heaven. Sylvia tells you throughout her book to not take her word for it, and look it up and find out for yourself. I, being naturally skeptical called her on it and went searching for the answers myself, and what I've found can only reinforce everything that Sylvia Browne speaks of in her book(s). Sylvia has an absolutely wonderful philosophy about life, and only if more people would adopt that philosophy, the world would be such a better place. Like I've stated before, I've done the research for myself, I've meet my spirit guide, I've astrally traveled to the Other Side, and am ready to tell you that this book can and will change your life as it did mine. Souls Perfection gives you insight on why, and how you should perfect for God. I think that you will find that The Other Side is far better than any of us could have ever imagined. Buy this book, as well as all of Sylvia's other books on her Journey of the Soul Series.
Rating: Summary: Confusing to say the least Review: This was the first print book of Sylvia's I read. I had gotten a couple of her lectures-on-tape from the library (as much stand-up comedy as spirituality). In the first one ("Making Contact ...", I believe) she categorically, emphatically stated that one does NOT "see auras" - she goes so far as to suggest that those who claim to do so see an eye doctor. On Page 11 of this book "Francine" spends two paragraphs referring to aura colors, specifically on "cementing" one's aura to green or blue. Contradictory? I think so.
I'll be honest, the more I read of Sylvia, the more skeptical I become.
