The title of the book is its strongest and most to-the-point message which all concerned Americans need to hear at this critical point in history.
For those who already know why America needs to return to her former greatness, Mr. Chalfant gives a concise and well organized summary of the life threatening problems confronting our nation and the biblically required solutions. For those who don't know, it will serve as an excellent eye opener and practical action guide.
His strongest point is that we are faced with what is foundationally a spiritual battle. Therefore, America can only become great again if "we the people" return to the true Founder of our nation, the Lord Jesus Christ. But, this revival of faith has to be of a nature that individually transformed lives by the power of God's Spirit will begin to apply the truths of God's Word to every area of life. Chalfant's book will give you practical ideas about what this means, why it is critically important and how to actually do it.
For anyone who has been active in the battle for the return to freedom, expressed in responsible ways, this book is not merely another harangue to make us feel guilty for not doing more. However, thoughtful readers will see areas where they could have and should be doing better. Neither is the book an attempt to get us to ease our consciences by getting involved in the political process and writing a few angry letters to our Congress representative s in Washington. Nor is it a narrow attack on one issue or a particular political position with a supposed magical solution that will right all wrongs.
America, A Call to Greatness is a challenge to each of us to rise to the greatness that God has designed for each of us. Yet it is clear that we do not accomplish this by our own efforts. We do it by first getting on our knees and seeking God's marching orders from His all encompassing instructional book, the Bible. Then we learn to trust His Spirit to lead and empower us just as He did those men and women who originally created this once truly great nation.
As one who has spent half a century in the study and application of the Bible to all areas of life, I believe Chalfant's book is the best current book which states the true nature of America's foundational problems and God's required solutions for them at this point in time. It is a message every true American Christian needs to seriously consider.
My plea is to not only read and digest this book but also that you buy multiple copies and give them to young men and women who are seeking God's directions for their lives. Pray that God will ignite a vision in their hearts which will set them on a quest to do their part in the struggle to return America to the greatness our Founders trusted God to bring into being.

John Chalfant reveals how we can take back America from the stranglehold of the nation's godless morays of cancerous secular humanism, the liberal's biggest social experiment -- our military, willful historical and scientific misinformation, and much more, and restore it to the once great nation of our founding father's lifelong pursuits. You owe it to those who have come before us and died for this great nation, and to those who will come after us, to be an active participant in directing this country towards the greatness upon which it was founded. I say again, GET THIS BOOK!

Review: In many respects this is the most important book that has appeared on the market in the past three decades. John W. Chalfant, a brilliant researcher and writer, has captured in these pages the essence of America's contemporary problem - and has pointed the way out of the dark for our declining civilization.

With characteristic boldness, the author has inserted the diagnostic scalpel at every major point at which a potentially fatal malady lurks under the skin of our nation: Theology, Philosophy, Politics, Economics, Foreign Policy, Islamic Terrorism, Defense, Education and the multiple Moral sicknesses that are eroding the soul of our nation.

To read this trenchant and compelling volume is to become enlightened as never before concerning the pathway to doom that is remarkably similar to what Edward Gibbon exposed in his epic "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." To ignore it is to remain vulnerable to the deadly cancers that threaten America, and to contribute in abysmal ignorance to its decline and potential downfall.

Summary: Really what we need?
Review: Over the years, I've watched Calvinist and Roman Catholic-inspired political thought gain more and more credence among American Christians. But after 30 years of Pat Robertson, D. James Kennedy-style crusading, I've come to conclude that the traditional Anabaptist/Baptist/Evangelical position is the best - America should be a place where people are free to pursue their own religious beliefs, and any talk of a "Christian" America past or present is pure fiction. The Council for National Policy may be right that abortion is bad and that the moral character of the average American is rotten. But are their solutions worthwhile? Hardly. They haven't even gotten a grasp on the fact that Communism is dead and that the biggest challenges to the American family come from out-of-control, corporatized employers and the moneyed elite. How seriously can you take a supposed "pro-family" movement that doesn't even address the concerns of the average American father who can't afford to provide for his family while his wages and career prospects are going down the toilet, and while his employers are making more than ever? How seriously can you take allegations that environmentalism is all a neo-pagan lie when your next door neighbor has an autistic kid, you have to cover yourself in sunblock just to go out to check the mail, and your meager stock portfolio is tanking because the world is running out of oil, steel, concrete and other resources that the conservatives (Julian Simon, anyone?) assured us were inexhaustible? How seriously can you take high-minded words about the glory of the "Free Enterprise system" when the banks don't let you start a small business and a demonic computer system (FICO) tracks every financial transaction you ever make with a ruthlessness that ever Orwell couldn't imagine?

Heads up to all you "right-wing" Christians out there. The conservatives have failed. They're not even talking about real life anymore. Time for new answers.

Review: Thomas Paine, with his book, Common Sense, stirred the hearts and minds of American colonists to right the wrongs imposed by their British rulers. John Chalfant is the Thomas Paine of today with America A Call To Greatness. This book will stir the hearts and minds of all who read it. America does not need another armed Revolution. What it does need is a Revival Revolution! If this book arouses controversy and debate, all the better. Then, perhaps the mainstream media will bring it to the attention of the great silent majority.

Summary: AMERICA -- A CALL TO GREATNESS
Review: What an inspiration! This book is a highly informative and motivating tool for every single American citizen who wishes to preserve their freedom. It reminds the reader that it is a direct mandate from God that we hold our elected government officials responsible for preserving out God-given freedoms, and, that our our clery must address government issues. It is their business and responsibility. It is loaded with Biblical scripture and facts about our Christian Founding Fathers of which I was completely unaware. All American citizens, whether they be Christian, Jewish, Agnostic, etc., seem to have some level of despair when considering the state of our nation. But this book has the answers. It is replete with answers to the questions about what actions we must take to halt further actions of the godless ACLU, our military disarmament, abortion, etc. We must take a stand to preserve our freedoms and, the appropriately entitled book, AMERICA - A CALL TO GREATNESS, helps to equip us with this task. After reading this book, my opinion has vastly changed. My vote and voice DO count. This is a must read for every clergyman, every elected government official, every American citizen!
