Summary: Great Book for Christians to understand psychic gifts
Review: I read this book after I read Tiffany Snow's "Psychic Gifts in the Christian Life -Tools to Connect" book. That book finally opened me up, and let me see we all have gifts, and all the scriptures to back it up, Holy Spirit has long been the tool for psychic work. In Echo's book, it adds even more to the foundation, and gives me even more to think about. It is time that Christians understand that it is not evil to be very sensitive to the things around them, and that God often talks to people in unusal ways. Share these books with your Christian friends, and help them get over their torn heart too - we were created with abilities, to help one another and glorify God!

Summary: Intriguing
Review: I read this book after watching a television documentary about psychic investigors who have helped police to solve crimes.

As you browse or read books about psychic phenomenon, you learn that the books vary in several ways - the terminology they use to describe the psychic phenomenon (intuition, divination, psychic skills, psychic gifts, prophetic visions, etc.), the believed source of the skill (God/Spirit, spirit world, spirit guides, energy, unknown, etc.), as well as other related beliefs that vary by author. Some authors opine that one can not only have impressions about current and past events, but also events yet to occur. Some write about "past lives". Some write about "channeling" or mediumship. Which book you choose and like will depend on your comfort level with the subject matter, your beliefs and your skepticism.

In her book, Echo Bodine includes topics such as how to spot scam artists, whether to use "tools" to aid your psychic ability, and common misconceptions about psychics. As a proclaimed Christian, she has an entire chapter devoted to what she believes the Bible says about psychic ability and practice.

Uncomfortably to me, Echo also covers subjects like how to communicate with the dead, how to "ghost bust", and how to psychically protect yourself against "psychic attack" or possession.

Due to these last topics, I am personally uncomfortable with the book. I wanted something to show me how to develop that intuition, or sixth sense, that I believe we all have; I'm not interested in talking with the dead or opening myself up to possession, if this exists.

This goes back to what you are seeking in a book about psychic ability or intuition. This book may be exactly what you're looking for. Choose wisely, however. I would instead recommend a book called "Practical Intuition" if, like me, you are more interested in just developing that intuitive muscle without delving into seemingly darker things.

Review: This book is awesome. I have read it several times since purchusing it and have given it to several of my friends. This book helps to put things in perspective. The author is down to earth and is reader friendly, easy to read and follow. Lot's of good and usable info included.

Summary: The Gift - Understand and Develop Your Psychic Abilities
Review: This is the first book I have read by Echo Bodine. I am very impressed with her writing style - very reader friendly. And out of all the books I've read on developing psychic abilities, Echo's is the best so far. I especially appreciate her chapter on what the Bible says about psychic abilities. This is something, in particular, that I have struggled with personally. She has helped me to understand where these psychic gifts are coming from and presented Biblical scripture to back it up. I look forward to reading more of Echo Bodine's books.
