Summary: New Version of Spiritual Nutrition - March 2005
Review: A new version titled "Spiritual Nutrition" Six Foundations for Spiritual Life & Awakening of the Kundalini Energy will be published March 2005

Here is the intro to the book:

Most of us live in the world thinking and acting as if we are the child of a barren woman - as if we were born. At some point in our evolution, we wake up and realize we are not the illusion of the body-mind complex, but THAT which exists as prior to consciousness, time, space, and being - we were never born and will never die.

Kundalini and Liberation

The inspiration for this book came in a profound meditation in 1975 when this one received Kundalini Shaktipat initiation from the Enlightened spiritual teacher Swami Muktananda Paramahamsa. As consciousness emerged out of the Nothing (B'lee mah), a still small voice (chashmal) whispered, "You should learn how to eat and live in a way that enhances the Kundalini" (the inherent spiritualizing force within each of us). Since that time, Spiritual Nutrition and The Rainbow Diet (the forerunner of this book), Conscious Eating, first and second editions, Depression-Free For Life, Sevenfold Peace, and Tachyon Energy, a New Paradigm in Holistic Healing have been published. Spiritual Nutrition is the second to last in this nutritional series that emerged out of that meditation. The last in this series will be on Spiritual Fasting. This book talks about Spiritual Nutrition from the point of view of the Six Foundations for Spiritual Life. It is based on this one's spiritual, holistic medical, professional, and nutritional experience since 1975. It is being shared to support all spiritual aspirants. Its power lies in its emergence out of this one's direct personal experience with spiritual aspirants from over seventy nations, as a Liberated spiritual teacher who has been empowered to awaken Shakti Kundalini (S'micha le'shefa/Haniha), with thirty years practical experience with the unfolding of the Kundalini process in thousands of people, as well as the completion of the full Kundalini into the Oneness of I AM THAT in this one. This book is primarily written in the third person - using the terms "this one," "Gabriel," or "the author." This is to emphasize the shift in consciousness in which one no longer identifies with the body-mind-I AM complex.

Summary: Good Information, Bad Writing
Review: Gabriel Cousens is by far one of the most intelligent, insightful, thorough, and researched raw foodists around. The knowledge in this book along with his own personal journeys and insights are incredible. The man knows what he's talking about and he truly has a beautiful, healthy path/vision that he illustrates clearly in this book

HOWEVER, Gabriel Cousens is not a good writer. It is difficult to read--very dense, with long sentances that are often hard to follow. It takes patience and a sharp mind to fully absorb all of his wonderful knowledge. Writing is not something anyone can do, and unfortunately, he doesn't do it well.

So, all in all, it is a difficult read, but an informative and enlightening one (if you can get through it!)

Summary: Profound, and uplifting
Review: Gabriel Cousens wrote this masterpiece back in 1986, but everything within the book still applies 100% to today's world, and will likely go on for years and years, never needing a revision.

Cousens writes from the heart, and tells how his journey into living foods has openened up a new world of love, spirituality, and peace that he never though possible. This book covers all the bases, from how long we could possibly life, to religion, to the best diet, and so on.

An excellent read for anyone, and an amazing amount of information for anyone who seeks to take themselves to the next level of consciousness.

Summary: still hungry?
Review: In a culture obsessed with food, for better or worse, this is a classic on diet and health that trumps them all. Dr. Cousens presents a comprehensive overview of the true role of nutrition as it supports an evolving humanity. With exhaustive scientific analogs and references, he explains exactly what food is, what it is supposed to be for, and how to use it intelligently to lay the foundation for a full and complete life. Bring your heart, your thinking cap, and a good sense of humor. This is the real stuff.

Summary: Where occult mets the West! ....
Review: The author tries to open a window to Eastern Occultism for Western readers. I don't see anything very wrong with this, other than the fact that Hinduism, Buddaism, and Occult religions are often diametricly opposed to Judeo-Christian beliefs.
