Summary: Author met Dr. Usui at her NDE!
Review: This alternative-medicine self-help guide teaches you to help heal yourself and others using the body's own natural energies, Reiki, and tapping into higher source. It is written by a Reiki Master who studied after she was initially given healing ability at her lightning strike near-death experience. One of the most interesting things about her NDE is that Dr. Usui was her out-of-body Guide during her experience, telling her "welcome to the world of healers" and she didn't even have a clue to who he was, until seeing a picture of him weeks later!

I am also a Reiki Master, and have wondered if there is a difference between Reiki with prayer and Reiki without - once one is attuned to the symbols, is there a difference? I believe there is - this book has given me food for thought. In fact, I now include a prayer before first position. This book also gives an interesting rhythm for hand positions, and has an excellent Question and Answer chapter that healers of all levels and modalities will appreciate. She gets down to the nuts and bolts, and also looks at spirituality as a tool and quantum physics/research results and negative attachments/ barriers to healing. This book is clearly a tool to help one further their understanding of healing. It is a very complete and detailed book, but flows well and is easy to read. I have gone to Tiffany's website, TiffanySnow.com, and read as much as I could about her, and even went to Chicago to see her talk (IANDS) and was astounded at the healings that happened during the talk (without her touching) and afterward (when she touched briefly, and like the faith healers, they fell down). She easily comes across as a wonderful and loving woman, and the power of her presence really feels like she has been (or is) "out of this world." Even the most hard-nosed skeptics will have to admit that some people have a healing presence that follows them around, some people seem to "glow." Dr. Usui knew what he was doing when he chose her. The best thing is, we can all "glow." And this book will help you do it.

Summary: I am a Reiki 2 practitioner
Review: This book will take you beyond what you learned in Reiki, but doesn't distract from what you already learned. There is a lot of beautiful healing stories, but also plenty of method and practice information, including how to heal in hospitals, set up a clinic, etc. The more advanced healer is going to find things here to think about, including a unique medical intuitive method.

Summary: Reiki and Prayer
Review: This is the first book that I have seen that openly puts Reiki and prayer together. As a traditional Reiki Master, and a registered nurse, I was impressed by the delicacy of handling the spiritual values of healing with the more traditional ones. The author (who is a minister and a Master)holds that hands-on-healing goes by many names, and all can be better utilized by augmentation with prayer. In my state of California, Reiki practitioners can also be providers of continuing education classes to nurses, authorized by the CA-BON (California State Board of Nursing). Alternative medicine is being recognized in many facets, as scientific research catches up to the realities of alternative quality care, less contraindications and lower medical costs per patient. This book outlines much research, case histories and personal recommendations by the author, besides answering many questions that come up about the healing process. As to depth of material, I would say that new healers and the more adept ones will benefit, as will anyone who wishes to heal themselves. Each chapter is divided into several parts, such as physical healing, emotional healing, and spiritual healing, remote healing, group healing, etc. Although it is written from a Christian aspect, it is not overly preachy with reference to the Divine Source, which is called by many names in this book. I've been a Reiki Master for 12 years now, and much of what is written here I have had to learn by trial and error. And there were a few new things found that I plan on implementing.
