Rating: Summary: A comprehensive handbook on healing Review: Dr. Snow investigates the nature, essence and power of prayer for both good and evil, in a most convincing way. How one prays and their intentions are brilliantly probed with numerous examples. The theories propounded and advanced are completely consistent with reason and evidence. The impartial power of prayer to manifest as conspicuous result is beyond refute. But what one prays for and their intention determine the result. Dr. Snow also delves into negative prayer, curses, hexes, angry thought, and the power of such prayers to exact harm, intentionally or unintentionally. This is a must read for anyone who prays or even for those who think they don't.
Rating: Summary: Place it in your doctor's hands Review: Heal yourself and others too - this book should be required reading for both health professionals, and lay people. As a Christian, I would also suggest it as a possible study for small groups. This book compares favorably to Francis MacNutt, and also to Agnes Sanford. There is also a Question and Answer chapter in the back, for quick reference. What amazed me the most was the aspect of seeing prayer as a scientific alternative medicine, the step-by-step healing instructions and the beautiful personal testimonies of those healed. The love of the author for people from all walks of life is very evident, and makes you warm to her as a kind teacher, while the knowledge is given unselfishly and without ego. I have seen healing occur with other people, but never really believed it would work for me - my analytical side needed more information to grasp onto it, I suppose. Or, maybe I just needed my faith to increase. No matter what the reason, I feel Confident now that my health will improve, I truly expect it to! This book should be on every Christian's bookshelf, and placed in the hand of your medical doctor as well.
Rating: Summary: Occult Practices Review: I had a check in my spirit when I first encountered this book. What this author teaches is not in acordance with God's Word, although it is disguised as such. Her "healings" come by way of Reiki and other forms of alternative occult practices. THis is a dangerous realm for any Christian to delve into. Her links on her website include the IARP, which is the association of Reiki Professionals. What is Reiki? Reiki accepts any spirits of light and will mention Jesus only when useful to build a connection with Christians. Jesus is not the Healer in Reiki. Reiki teaches that God is beyond our rational mind and can only be communed with by openness without thought or judgement. Its practice seeks oneness with world/universal energy. THe world listens and pays for its comfortable spirit and teachings. Reiki is open to all spirits of light in meditation and practice. The teachers are respected for oneness and openness with God. Reiki includes SOME comfortable biblical principles, but gives revelation from Indian sutras and it is more Hindu or Buddhist than Christian. ALmost all Reiki teachers deny the existence of evil. Reiki Masters teach that all paths are equivalent, often incorporating reincarnation and belief in multiple messiahs. Many people are not willing to let go of the profit from the Reiki bondage, which gives the practicioner identity and self-worth. Reiki spirit does not come in Jesus' name or remind us of Jesus' words, but it uses ideas that SOUND godly and scriptural. Reiki Masters and teachers have no intereste in listening to the Bible writers. They read their own universalistic spriritual practices.
If this "healing" is not in the name of Jesus, then it is of other spirits and cannot be trusted. SO many GOOD Christians are pulled into this black hole out of desperation to be healed. Did Jesus have 1/2 hour "healing sessions" where he waved his hands over the person calling on healing energy and colors to heal? NO! And did he CHARGE MONEY for it? NO!! Laying on of hands in the Bible is NOT the same as Reiki. THey are polar opposites. Jesus told us in the Great Commission in Mark 16:15-18 to lay hands on the sick and he didn't tell us to CHARGE money for it!
You must remember that the Bible tells us that satan comes as an angel of light. He is devious and sucks people into the occult on a daily basis. He knows that if he can do this, then our eyes will be taken OFF of the Word of God.
Read the BIBLE to receive your healing.Look to JESUS CHRIST, who is the HEALER. Flee from occult practicioners such as Ms. Snow. WHen you participate in occult practices out of desperation, you give satan an open door to your life. Be warned.
Rating: Summary: Not a religious book - a spiritual one, good healing techniq Review: I just don't understand it! Religion fighting over this book. This is not a religious book! Doesn't anyone know the difference between religious and spiritual! This book does not push anyone into anything, but shows one person's success and step-by-step presentation about how to do it for oneself and others. It may be an unusual synthesis of scientific and spiritual ideas, examining modern theology and science in a title which blends Bible passages, quotes from the writings of modern and ancient mystics, and personal experience (by a minister who had a near-death experience), but who wants to read another cookie-cutter book, like most of them are? If you don't like something in here, skip over that part, though I doubt you'll have to. There are true gems in here of wisdom and humor, and where it touches on science, that seems pretty accurate too. I think a good read is always controversial, and this is one of them. Hell, she even has the Christians fighting with one another! I've been working in the medical field for 12 years now, and am presently fighting colon cancer. I believe I can "tap into the miracle" and this book is a definite plus that has showed me this is possible (and I am a scientific guy). Buy it and make up your own mind. Then come back here on "review" and join the fight! Ha!
Rating: Summary: I Was Greatly Moved Review: I was greatly moved with Dr. Snow's new book The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide and the new information here, but that is to be expected as we move forward in our awareness between the power of prayer and how spirituality affects our bodies, both emotionally and physically. We must keep on the cutting edge, and look at all the current research and take a closer look at the broad spectrum of the spiritual link. I especially liked the chapter "Barriers to Healing." There is also an excellent Q&A chapter. Mankind is taking great, wonderful strides forward right now, and not a moment too soon! Read this book and start a collection that leads you to insight and wisdom.
Rating: Summary: Don't forget to read this book twice Review: If you practice Reiki or similar healing arts then this book is definitely one to have. In fact, the author met Dr. Usui at her lightning strike near death experience. She is a master teacher in the linage of William Rand, and examines the intent of prayer in healing. Tiffany shows the true nature of the mind-body connection and points the way for prayer to induce optimal healing benefits, regardless of spiritual discipline or healing modality. Also an absolutely brilliant book on hands-on healing and distant healing technique. If you only have the money to buy one book on this subject, then this, without doubt, is the one to get!
Rating: Summary: Many Truths that Resonate, Read This Book! Review: My personal challenge has long been to push past my own doubts and live my true potential, for body, soul and spirit. I have stumbled over many concepts, in my need to blend my no-nonsense background with the new truths that resonant within me, including finding the right balance between conventional medicine and integrative medicine. We are fortunate to live in a time when more and more research is being conducted, and the raw data is being compiled and distributed. I believe both of Tiffany Snow's books (I also reviewed her Psychic Gifts book) have been a great leap forward in addressing the simple truths and the bottom line - including that healing has been given many names in many places in all periods of time, but that the greatest healings have been when a form of prayer/source connection has been added to the journey.
This book moves chapter by chapter through physical, emotional, and spiritual healing. It has a chapter on group intention, barriers to healing and even setting up your own practice. Another chapter is on self-care of the healer, and one on quantum physics. This book has spoken to my heart! Tiffany has validated many things for me, including persuading a shift of consciousness, and I will be able to be a better healer and recipient because of it. The NDE (lightning strike) that "woke her up" is pure and Un-Hyped, and non-conforming. The ways she has been able to use the gifts for healing, medically documented miracles, and the methods of how she has developed her intuitiveness are amazing. I have enjoyed reading it, and you will learn how to manifest change in a variety of areas.
Rating: Summary: A courageous CHRISTIAN HEALING BOOK Review: Not only does Tiffany Snow interpret The Holy Scriptures as the Holy Spirit confirms them to my heart, but she informs the reader about how God has always been a God of healing. Man has seen quantum physics as an opportunity to see how healing works, and are starting to ask some of the deeper questions about God and healing. So many times Christians (and I AM a faithful Church-going, JESUS LOVING Christian) hear a word they are unfamiliar with, such as "Reiki" and call it evil (Ro. 8:28). God uses many different kinds of herbs to heal, and medicines, and even the technology and hands of surgeons (do we ask if our doctor is a Christian before we let them operate? Or walk away and berate them if they are not?). So why would the LORD not use - the entire point of this book - PRAYER combined with hands-on healing (in this case, Reiki) for miracles and healing? (Is. 53:4,5) And, for those who look further than the cover, Ms. Snow's book also clearly teaches about deliverance and exorcism, "slain in the spirit" and church healing, the power of forgiveness, quotes scriptures freely and, has a chapter on how to pray, a chapter on healing scriptures and poems from Saints, and frequently cites Francis MacNutt, Benny Hinn, etc. In fact, this book might even be seen as "too Christian" for many. And yet Christians are berating her. We know God is the same yesterday, today and forever. He continues to show signs and wonders, and "by their fruits" we will recognize those who are touched by God and his power. Healing is a birthright and gift God gives his people to break free from the destruction of this world and the ruler of this world, Satan. The Lord's power for healing and protecting his people as clearly portrayed by Tiffany Snow' divine insight and revelation in 'The Power of Divine: A Healer's Guide - Tapping into the Miracle," is not by way of fear or condemnation, but showing Jesus as he truly is, a God of love and miracles who invites all his children (of every race and part of the earth) to be whole, and not to be afraid of "name calling" or terminology. It is this close mindedness that shuts many good people out of Christianity and away from Jesus. No where in this book does Ms. Snow (who has a masters in theology and a doctorate in divinity and is a member in many religious organizations) state she is the healer - rather everywhere she is stating that the person needs to pray and get out of the way, for God's spirit to heal. And, with the medical acceptance of Reiki as a proven/research validated way for nurses and others to be use this hands-on modality in the hospitals, it allows prayer in places and used by more professionals in real verifiable situations than ever before, since most Reiki practitioners pray (statistics show this, if anyone bothered to look, and most are Christian too!). I applaud Ms. Snow, who is standing before the lions of New Age and the world, as FEARFUL CHRISTIANS throw stones and incite the lions to destroy. We should be standing beside this sister in the faith. If the ones throwing stones would actually read the book, and look up the scriptures cited, they might even agree with me. Snow is truly living the scripture: I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me? (Ps. 56:11) We need to be careful, as Christians, that we are not as the religious leaders of ancient times, the ones who lifted up Jesus and the apostles to death, when they were just speaking truth and the Holy Spirit was showing God's power through them.
Rating: Summary: "Medical Spirituality" at its Finest Review: Put this book on your summer reading list. I had heard many things about this book from my co-workers, so was anxious to read it for myself. I was pleasantly surprised that the hype stood the test! I have never found a nonfiction book so calming to read, where the author makes you feel that you are in the kitchen sharing a cup of tea & cookies - while easily getting down to the roots of illness, emotional problems, and what to do about it. There is humor here, balanced with spirituality that goes beyond religion. Prayer and conventional medicine combined together could really be the shape of the future in health care, and according to Dr. Snow, that future is starting to be realized now, and we can have a "hand" in it. Excellent Q & A chapter too. A Must Read.
