Summary: Help for lost souls
Review: This is a very personal guide whose lessons may affect you quite deeply, if you are open to being moved and learning something now about your spiritual self. Without becoming a Taoist, the book showed me that many Taoist principles can be used by anybody in everyday life in order to help cope with the problems we must all deal with. The techniques Dreher explains help show the path to patience and self-understanding and are a great place to start for those who understand little about Taoism or Far Eastern Religions in general but who want to find a new way to cope with events while learning about themselves.

Summary: "How to Attain Peace 101..."
Review: This text is an Owner's Manual for All those Who Own a Body. BKA, An Outsider's Primer to the Inside Job.

I found the work to be a practical guide on how to become a Tao person and/or how to use the Tao as the situation arises. Ms. Dreher does quite a nice job giving background on Tao, defining what a Tao person is, what he does, how he lives. Peace, says Ms Dreher will come to the world when we find it in ourselves...balance, integration with nature, cooperation with others, dealing with conflicts can all be found in the verses of the Tao Te Ching. Ms. Dreher illustrates this by case scenarios, anecdotes and personal testimony. In each chapter there are personal exercises, affirmations, meditations, Tao questions and appropriate Tao verses. Good for both the uninitiated and those who already have years in the study.
