Summary: Lovely Overview of the Fae World
Review: I thought this was a very nice compendium of faery types for those who may not want to delve really deep into the lore. I have been reading on the faeries for twenty-five years, and certainly would recommend this to someone who wanted a good over-view of the subject. I very much appreciated Mr. Melville's respectful attitude toward them and this earth they sustain and protect. I felt very good after reading this book, and appreciate the reverence that went into the writing of it. Great illustrations too -- some of them reminded me of the work of Marc Chagall.

Summary: Nice and well put together book
Review: Melville did a wonderful job in puting this book together and the information in it, is absoutly stunning. Although at times I wish he had given more information on some of the faeries (Such as the Undines). The illustrations are pretty good, but I rather have a book with no illlustrations in it at all.This book has 5 chapters:
Elementals & Nature Spirits (Sylphs, Devas, Elves, ect.)
Faery Helpers (Brownies, Dwarfs, Domovoi, ect.)
Tricksters & Seducers (Leprechauns, Pixies, Morgan le Fay, ect.)
Angelic Faeries (Peris, Erotes, Lauma, ect.)
Rituals & Recipes I give this book a 4.5 stars overall.

Review: This is a wonderful book, full of wonderfull colourful pictures of over 50 different types of faeries. With a bried description of each. Teaches you how to rid a faerie and attract one, also has rituals and recipies. However, i believe the author mr melville does not have much experience with faeries at all. The info is not all accurate. Lets take the sylphs for example, he says they would take you "flying". Wrong, they cant do that, however they can send you images and pictures.
The author has just gathered the info from different books and made it to one book. It doesnt show that he has experienced or communicated with faeries.

Summary: A Gentle Introduction
Review: This small book has colorful and inventive illustrations, drawing mostly on fairy folklore from around the world. Following a brief introduction about origins of faery and entering the faery realm, there are chapters on Elementals & Nature Spirits, Faery Helpers, Tricksters & Seducers, Angelic Faeries and Rituals and Recipes.
Each section is accompanied by a simple exercise that the author suggests can connect you to these beings of nature and energy. In addition to the traditional nature spirits, the author describes a number of others, including Jack Frost, Jack in the Green, the Blue Fairy, and Wee Willie Winkie. The book is well researched and written. The last section, covering Rituals and Recipes, has simple techniques and suggestions for contact and introductory work.
The Book of Faeries is a pleasant place to begin a journey into faery. While there is much more to say about the subject, I'd highly recommend this book as a good place to start.

Summary: Do you believe in Faeries?
Review: This wonderful book tells the story of the birth of fearies and differnt traditions that believe in fearies. The author also give info on over 40 fearies and how to attract and discourage them. A must have for anyone interested ion faeries or nature spirits.
