Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Good for beginners or the novice
Review: This is a book that I would only recommend to perople who are not priest/priestess in the religion but the novice who are interested in learning elementary concepts of the religion and it's practices. There is some insight but not entirely accurate.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: INFORMATIVE
Review: When I first began to read books on the ancient Yoruba religion of Ifa and the worship of the Orisa, I found the material to be sometimes confusing and fragmented. Mr. Neimark's work, "The Way of the Orisa : Empowering Your Life Through the Ancient African Religion of Ifa,' is concise, clear and informative. Much detail is absent from the work, but it was just what I needed as a primer to prepare me for more detailed and difficult readings.

Since then I have looked at more detailed works like that of Dr. William Bascomb, and the work titled "Flash of the Spirit." Ifa is a very complex religion, and Mr. Neimark's explanations are simple and straightforward. ...I give this work 4 stars because the lack of too much detail is precisely what helped me to read it easily and move on to more complex works. I recommend the book to everyone who is interested in Orisa worship. Read it and come to your own conclusions.

You must also look at Mr. Neimark's web site, which is very informative, and a good follow-up after reading his book. ...
