Summary: Experience Light with The River Beneath The River
Review: By the end of the first weekend during which I purchased this novel, I'd already read it through two times. I had to. I was compelled to go back reread and highlight (as if it were a formal educational/ instructional textbook) the many lessons and the enlightenment this novel brings to the lives of its readers. Even as I submit this commentary, I prepare to reread it yet again as we face the close of one year and dawn the birth of a new one. This is a story that awakens every part of its reader. The lives of its characters are in my opinion purposed by design for each reader who is open to the journey, embraces the victories and difficulties, appreciates the discovery, and receives the shining light of the story. Darci, Ere Zeta, Olivia, Michael, Africa, Kevin, Imani, and Juma all specifically touched my life. They brought me face to face with myself; they made me laugh, cry, quiet, think, hope, and desire.

This is such a remarkable work for a beginning novelist. To the author, Susan, thank you for educating, challenging, and helping to bring out the best in your readers with your characters and mainly the life of Darci. Her tremendous life lessons has no bounds and holds no exclusions which makes reading this story more than the process of the recitation of words on a page. With its nutritious content it becomes a transforming encounter and a priceless experience of self-discovery and revelation. What a gift a light you have made available to us all! A light greatly needed.

Thank you for introducing me and helping me find my way to The River Beneath The River: to that place of forgiveness, of letting go, of maturity, of hope, - of Love. For me the story never ended, rather it became alive in me and therefore apart of me and I apart of it; making me a vessel to extend its light.

I urge all to pursue the journey, endeavor to find The River Beneath The River, and truly experience an awakening of your spirit. Then share it and pass the light on. It will leave you "vowed to focus into the Light and allow those who would be repugnant and antagonistic their darkness" (p. 147). It is a perfect read for anytime of the year, but particularly at this time of the year. A great holiday gift that enlightens and inspires. Enjoy!

Summary: Highly recommended reading
Review: Darci Beriman was more than just another poor girl in Brooklyn. When Darci came across a mysterious photo of her father with a strange woman in the forbidden bureau in her grandfather's basement, she knew she had to find out who she really was. Thus begins an odyssey that would take Darci across the globe, then home again. Along her quest Darci would meet a young couple on the plane to greece, the black African student who became her first lover, an enigmatic and wise Ere Zeta. Each encounter with these and others would shape her thinking and awaken Darci to the power of her indomitable spirit while learning lessons in the school of life. Susan Tabin's debut novel, The River Beneath The River is populated with memorable characters, sequenced with geographic and emotional adventure, and culminates into a thoroughly satisfying and rather unexpected conclusion. Highly recommended reading!

Summary: ...Next ...
Review: I was extremely disappointed in the writing and flimsy story of River Beneath the River ...,esp . so because the message is an important one but who wants to traverse through character cut outs and cutesy Hallmark endings to get there . I would have to say that this was the most poorly written piece of mass produced literature that I have read and it speaks to the overall dumbing down and quality drop in the publishing industry .
There are so many great writers and books that have deep timeless wisdom and learnings to impart ,we don't have to settle.

Summary: W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! Read it twice!
Review: The book was W-O-N-D-E-R-F-U-L! Susan's quirky observances of life tickled me. Her zany sense of humor had me howling. The dignity with which she embraces our diversity deeply touched me.

I laughed.
I cried.
I sighed.
I read it in a day.
I couldn't put it down.
I read it twice.

This is one of those books that will spread like wild fire. Oprah will love it. It's that good. It speaks to the soul.

A light-filled 5 Star review by me.
