Summary: Great Story
Review: The Wisdom of Shepherds is awesome-- one of the most emotionally powerful stories I ever read. I found it to be suspenseful and quirky. Also, it is full of wisdom.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: My Favorite from Wisdom-Literature Genre.
Review: The Wisdom of Shepherds is my favorite book from the genre of Wisdom-Literature. The story is deeply engaging, powerful, and moving. The wisdom expressed therein is profound.

The story is about an old shepherd who winters in a crumbling cottage. One year he returns and finds the cottage occupied by a stranger-- a young woman with red hair. They resent each other at first, but they form a friendship in time-- nothing romantic between them, although they do help each other out with romance toward others. What follows is a story with good humor, lots of mystery, suspense, and just good natured fun. It's loaded with wisdom. I highly and I do mean HIGHLY recommend The Wisdom of Shepherds.

Summary: One of my top ten
Review: The wisdom of shepherds is one of my top ten favorite books of all time. I liked the way the author set it in a completely timeless place-- there is no real way of knowing when the story is set. It is not contemporary, but when? Reminds me of something by Tolkien or C.S. Lewis.

Summary: Spellbinding and Instructive.
Review: The Wisdom of Shepherds was so suspenseful it made me sweat as I read it. The story kept me on the edge of my seat, guessing all the while, and the wisdom to be found is truly great.

The story concerns Old Caleb the Shepherd who spends time each winter in the cottage where he buried something that was to have remained buried forever. One year he is surprised to find that a woman with red hair and her little daughter have moved into his cottage. He's afraid his secret will be discovered. What follows is an amazing journey into the human heart.

The Wisdom of Shepherds is a rare treat, a truly good book that most anyone will enjoy.

Summary: Great read!
Review: This is a book that has much more substance than many would originally be willing to give it credit for. Through a fairly simple story, Ellis manages to touch on a lot of complex issues facing us today.

If you are struggling with the unexpected or unforseen changes, I heartily reccomend this book. It shows a bright side can be found just about anywhere, and does it without being smutty, provocative, or overtly sexual.
