Summary: worth checking out
Review: Bo Bosher has achieved something rare in student ministry. Character, compassion, vision, strategy all wrapped into one comprehensive volume.Student ministry in the 21st century gives us a blueprint for a Christ-centered youth ministry. His insight for leaders, compassion for the lost and his care for the already convinced make this book an instant classic. Student ministry in the 21st century is an absolute must read for anyone who really cares about teenagers. I highly recommend this book.

Summary: AWESOME BOOK!
Review: I bought this book almost by accident. I am so glad that I did. I have been teaching sunday school for four years. I am now in college majoring in youth ministry. I loved the book. It gives a lot of ideas about how to help out your youth group. It doesn't just give you ideas on how to play more games and get more kids in your group. The book focuses on how to build your youth ministry. It doesn't however focus on how to fill more seats. It focuses on how to fill more hearts. The main focus is spiritual growth in your ministry. I just have to say it is an awesome book, and it is easy to read and understand!

Summary: Decent Book But Not The Best
Review: In this volume, Bo Boshers gives us a look at Student Impact, the student ministry at Willow Creek Church. He shares with us the philosophy of their minstry and how they arrived to use it. The book is strong and offers quite a bit of good material but it is not the best book encouraging modelling a youth minstry. Doug Field's book PURPOSE DRIVEN YOUTH MINSITRY is far superior. This book however, is a nice complement to PDYM and adds some supplemental advice as well.

Summary: worth checking out
Review: This book is definitely worth reading, especially if you're looking to change from a traditional approach to a more relational/purpose-drive approach. It starts out a little slow, but the later chapters provided some helpful ideas.

I would recommend Purpose Driven Youth Ministry by Doug Field over this book, however. Most of the ideas in Student Ministry for the 21st Century are also in Purpose Driven Youth Ministry.
