Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Book a must for all churches
Review: The Bereavement Ministry is a must for all churches. The text contains guidelines and suggestions for dealing with a variety of grief situations: suicide, still births, natural deaths, tragic deaths, teen deaths, just to list a few. I recently used the book when a teenager in our church was killed in an accident. We were able to give the teens information about greif and how it might be manifested. We were able to give the parents information about how their children might experience grief and how the two groups could work together for a healthier mourning process. The book also contains samples of follow-up letters that can be sent to those in mourning. There are twelve letters, one for each month of the year following the death of a loved on. As a pastor, I wish I never needed this book, but reality is that death happens and this book is worth the cost to help our people mourn and handle grief.
