Summary: Honest and encouraging
Review: Any marriage--whether brand new or slightly weathered--can benefit from Nancy's advice. She knows of what she speaks, and shares that insight with humor, conviction and encouragement. This is a book pastors and counselors should keep on their bookshelves and gift-givers should bring to the wedding. Short of having Nancy as your very own over-the-fence neighbor, Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome is the best resource for solving all the "lawn" issues that can crop up in even the best of marriages.

Summary: not afraid to get real
Review: As an author to teens and families, I loved this book because I hear from teens how affairs and fractured families impact their lives. This is a helpful and honest resource to keep families intact.

Summary: Brutally Honest, Wonderfully Hopeful
Review: Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome is an absolute gem of a book. Nancy's honesty is refreshing and makes the reader trust Nancy's advice that comes after she shares her own story of infidelity. Her words are filled with the sort of wisdom that one learns only through making a tragic mistake, but the book is also filled with words of hope for every couple out there. Laced with humor, practical tips, and spiritual insight, Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome is a must read and re-read for every pastor, counselor, and couple who are ready to understand fully what God can and will do to not only save a marriage, but grow it into a thing of beauty.

Summary: Masterful and Vunerable
Review: Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome is by turns honest, humorous, moving, insightful, and practical. Nancy Anderson does a masterful job at both telling her story without going into sordid details and remaining vulnerable enough to inspire and encourage struggling couples. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: Even if infidelity hasn't been a problem in your marriage you will benefit greatly from this book. Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome is a MUST READ! Nancy C. Anderson is willing to tell about her lousy marriage, work-place affair, and how an incredible God, a forgiving husband, and a lot of hard work put their Humpty Dumpty marriage back together again. Not only does this book tell her story in a way that will give you goosebumps, but it gives simple steps and ideas, that if put into practice will make the grass of your marriage the greenest in the neighborhood. (I especially like the humorous way Nancy addresses the "romance" factor -- you'll have to read chapter ten!!) I'm going to buy a box of Avoiding the Greener Grass Syndrome and give them as wedding presents.

Summary: Make time to read this and appy the principles to your home
Review: I typically "blur over" when reading books related to relationships, but this treasure by Nancy C. Anderson grabbed me from page one. This is probably due to the fact that Nancy takes time to share her own experience and marriage prior to jumping into suggestions for how you can improve yours.

In the first section of the book, we learn why Nancy calls herself a "cheater" on the first page and we experience the strains and near break up of her own marriage. Thanks to the power of prayer, true forgiveness and the guidance of loving parents, Nancy and Ron were able to work through the challenges they faced and have now gone on to be happily married for 26 years.

Given this backdrop, the second section of the book is filled with helpful principles that will enable couples to avoid the many extramarital temptations that may crop up in even the strongest of Christian marriages. Nancy shares her ideas and widsom in a fun, very readable fashion.

The "things to do" and "things to think about" sections at the completion of each chapter help to pull together the concepts presented and to apply them to one's own relationship. This is a great resource for couples in all stages of marriage and equally valuable to couples either happily married or facing challenges. Invest the time to read this book and share it with your spouse.

Summary: This book will save marriages on the brink!
Review: Nancy A.'s book on the "greener grass syndrome" in marriage is marvelous. In just 121 pages, Nancy not only shares her own gripping tug-of-war experience propelling her to the brink of divorce, but she also provides tools for affair-proofing marriages. The book testifies of God's ability to bring beauty out of ashes in marriage. It also exposes the illusions of extra-marital infatuation and the trap of anticipating/seeking greener pastures. It is a must read for protecting marriages and reversing wheels spinning toward divorce!

Summary: this is really important for every marriage
Review: Nancy Anderson's book is so significant. With humor, stories and truth, she tells the secrets for protecting a marriage and making it great. I just know this book is going to help so many couples, even those who are struggling deeply. Read this book! You'll not only enjoy it, your marriage will grow stronger.

Summary: Real-life marriage advice
Review: Nancy C. Anderson breaks down something as complex as an affair and gives sound Biblical advice to prevent this in your marriage. Her willingness to share her own story of infidelity without excuse makes for a compelling read. Full of insight for marriages at any stage (ours is wonderful ten years in), Nancy speaks as a friend who has been there, and wants to save you the trouble. Her wonderful sense of humor is evident as she recounts even her darkest moments, and her words are hope for all who see none in their marriage. You've got to read this book!
